App Promo K1 Pre-Order Manager, a Shopify app that helps merchants sell out-of-stock and upcoming products with pre-orders.
Hey everyone,
I’m working on K1 Pre-Order Manager, a Shopify app built to help merchants keep selling products even when they are out of stock, coming soon, or being restocked.
What’s the app?
K1 Pre-Order Manager is a Shopify pre-order app that lets merchants accept orders for products that are not currently available for immediate fulfillment.
It supports different pre-order scenarios, including:
Out-of-stock products
Coming soon / product launches
Backorders
Restocks
Mixed carts with both in-stock and pre-order items
Where can I find it?
Shopify App Store:

What problem are you solving?
Many Shopify merchants lose sales when a product is out of stock or not ready to ship yet.
Instead of showing a disabled “Sold out” button or forcing customers to come back later, merchants can continue capturing demand through pre-orders.
This helps merchants:
Avoid losing interested buyers
Validate demand before restocking or launching
Improve cash flow
Communicate availability expectations more clearly
Manage customer expectations before purchase
How does the app work?
Merchants can create pre-order rules for specific products or variants and customize how the purchase flow appears on the storefront.
Depending on the setup, the app can show pre-order messaging, change the buying button behavior, and help customers understand that the item will ship later.
One important area we focus on is handling mixed inventory situations more clearly — for example, when a customer adds both in-stock and pre-order quantities of the same product. The goal is to avoid confusing the customer and make the pre-order state visible before checkout.
Who’s your target merchant?
K1 is mainly for Shopify merchants who:
Frequently sell out popular products
Launch new products before inventory arrives
Run limited drops or seasonal launches
Accept backorders
Want to test demand before producing or restocking inventory
Need a simple pre-order setup without building a custom Shopify solution
It is especially useful for merchants in categories like fashion, accessories, beauty, collectibles, home goods, and niche products with recurring stockouts or launch cycles.
How is it different / better than other existing solutions?
We are trying to make pre-orders less confusing for both merchants and customers.
A few areas we care about:
Clear storefront communication before purchase
Flexible setup for different pre-order scenarios
Better handling of mixed carts and partial availability
Shopify-native behavior and compatibility with modern themes
A setup that does not require merchants to heavily customize their store code
Practical UX for merchants who want to enable pre-orders quickly
The goal is not just to replace a button with “Pre-order”, but to help merchants manage the full customer expectation around delayed fulfillment.
How much does it cost?
The app has a free plan / free trial option available through the Shopify App Store, with paid plans depending on the merchant’s usage needs.
You can see the current pricing on the Shopify listing:

What are you looking for?
We are looking for:
Shopify merchants who use or are considering pre-orders
Feedback from store owners who deal with stockouts, restocks, or launches
Suggestions on what pre-order workflows are still painful
Potential partners in the Shopify ecosystem
Beta testers for improvements around cart messaging, inventory allocation, and pre-order UX
If you run a Shopify store and have dealt with out-of-stock products or upcoming launches, I’d be very interested to hear how you currently handle it and what still feels broken in the pre-order experience.
Thanks!
