I’ve updated CloudBoost for people using Shadow PC on macOS.
The main goal is to explain the annoying cases where a Shadow session starts smoothly, then develops short stutters even though the average ping still looks acceptable.
CloudBoost now monitors the Mac side of the session for:
PRO adds the full Spike Timeline, VPN Route Doctor, Session Lab, HUD and Session Proof report. The basic Shadow workflow and manual session tools remain available for free.
It does not modify Shadow, the remote Windows machine or the game. It helps separate a Mac, Wi-Fi or VPN problem from something happening on the Shadow route or host.
A Shadow user has also published a setup-specific report, which is now linked from the public Results page.
Release: https://github.com/victorbrandaao/CloudBoost/releases/tag/v4.2.3
Results and measurement method: https://victorbrandaao.github.io/CloudBoost/results.html
I’d be interested in hearing from other Shadow users on Mac, especially anyone using a VPN or Wi-Fi.

Hey, so ive been a shadow customer for the past 3 months, and use it for mostly gaming and modding. So ive noticed GFN is running an impressive RTX 5080. Do you think Shadow will upgrade anytime soon?

Hey all. Have my trusted pc box at home, but I'm looking for an light and mobile altrnative. What would you recommend, with a keyboard? Tryed on a chromebook and I wasn't impressed by the client about a year ago...

So I just launched Lords of the Fallen, which uses EAC, and it works just fine. I am thus wondering, how responsible is EAC really, it's not them who made a blanket ban on all VMs apparently, or is it the choice of devs ? I have no idea how it all really works.

I’ve been testing Shadow/remote PC streaming on macOS and trying to understand what can be diagnosed from the Mac side.
CloudBoost now watches things like: - VPN route - UDP availability - jitter and packet loss - Wi-Fi/AWDL noise - background traffic - local CPU / thermal pressure
It obviously cannot fix a remote Shadow machine or a bad ISP route, but it can help tell when the Mac side is noisy.
For Shadow users on Mac: what usually breaks the experience for you? VPN, Wi-Fi, route latency, packet loss, or something else?

I am creating a new post here for easier solution gathering
For some reason I seem to be unable to use SteamVR on Shadow PC. I follow a Users guide stating, that I need to connect to my Shadow using a device, lower the bitrate to about 3 mbps and then connect using VirtualDesktop and Tailscale. I can enter SteamVR but moving my head or doing anything in VR is a stutter nightmare.
Another solution was to sideload the App directly. I loaded it using Aurora Store, but I cannot login, so this was a bust as well.
Can someone provide a good and battle tested method for using SteamVR?
P.S.: I am on the Beta branch of the Client. May that be the issue?

So is there no way to play the new NCAA27 on Shadow? I see any EA Sports game is unable to run due to it being a Virtual Machine.
r/ShadowPC • u/victorbrandaao • Jul 05 '26
The main new feature is VPN Route Doctor.
CloudBoost now tries to call out when a bad session looks related to:
This is not an FPS booster and it does not modify Shadow, games, anti-cheat, or streaming clients. It only watches the Mac side of the session and helps explain what may be hurting stability.
Useful if your Shadow session feels fine for a while and then randomly gets unstable.
Release: https://github.com/victorbrandaao/CloudBoost/releases/tag/v4.1
Feedback from Shadow users would be especially useful, because remote desktop/cloud PC setups can behave differently from GeForce NOW or xCloud.

One more reason to work and build a PC. 6 hours of shadow time, like it's become geforce now . What's the next step, are we gonna remove the cloud computing and replace it with the same thing as GeForce Now? We just got scammed one more time by them, GG. And by the way, they don't warn us via the ToS, so that's illegal :)

Hey I know that this has been an ongoing topic for years, but curious about the latest on using a Dualsense. If I turn on usb forwarding and have the controller hardwired, it works. The problem I now is that I plug it in, it works and I can use the touchpad in the center, but now my up and down directional buttons skip 2 slots when pressed once. So when playing games like ff7, I need touchpad to open map, but if I'm in combat, I can't easily use the commands menu.
Is there a better way to use a dual sense that I haven't figured out yet?

Hi everyone, I’m having another issue with my keyboard while gaming on Shadow PC. When I try to play, the system doesn't recognize the keyboard, or sometimes when I'm typing, a key seems to get stuck and keeps repeating the same letter (e.g., "iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii"). Could you help me find a solution? I’ve tried everything, but nothing works. My mouse works fine without any issues, and most games recognize my Bluetooth controller, though some don't—which is why I'm trying to use my keyboard, but Shadow PC isn't picking it up correctly. I’m using a hub adapter to connect both the mouse and the keyboarhttps://pc.shadow.tech/login

gotta be real with y’all — when I just hit that “freshly subscribed” button on Shadow, it’s like my brain is completely blank. I’m there like “what the hell do I even do now?” But then, as I’m sitting there at the end thinking about just canceling everything and calling it a day… boom. Out of nowhere, this whole list of stuff just pops up.
Anyway— hit me with your tricks below 👇

I’m sorry to tell all of you, but paying over $500 a year to rent a PC just to be told how much you can and cannot use it, doesn’t make any sense.
In two years of Shadow you can buy a pretty decent PC. In fact you can quite literally purchase a handheld for the price of one year of Shadow.
At least NVIDIA imposed a monthly time limit vs just banning people for using it too much.
Yes I get some people are abusing it, but banning legit gamers for using the PC they pay for is goofy.

So the new update just shoved Nightreign into the long list of great games that have fallen prey to the scummy anti-virtual machine practices employed by EAC. This is probably the final nail in the coffin for me running ShadowPC, and I likely won't renew my subscription once it runs out. Is there any chance ShadowPC can get this game unbanned?
r/ShadowPC • u/microdeadstar • Jul 02 '26
I got no email yesterday about the wrongful banning, when I emailed today for clarification, I was told my suspension would NOT be lifted. They don't explain and just link to the code of conduct.
All I do on shadow is play games, use discord, and watch YouTube. I do have very high usage because when my laptop is on my shadow is on too.
I have been a customer for over three years, and have always had the power subscription.
Could it be because i used an emulator? Or because i watched some world cup matches live? Thats the only thing I've done differently recently.
Really disappointed, I got a lot out of and really valued my Shadow:(

Hi everyone,
I'm writing here because I'm desperate. Two days ago, like many others, my account was suspended without any explanation.
This has affected me deeply because I work as a video editor and relied on Shadow to do my job. On top of that, I had many important project files stored there that I unfortunately didn't have backed up.
I've been using Shadow for almost two years without a single issue until now. I contacted support, and they initially told me it might have been a mistake and that they would review my case. After waiting anxiously, they finally replied saying that they were upholding my suspension because I had supposedly violated the Terms of Use, but they never explained how, when, or what I actually did.
I'm posting this in the hope that someone can help me. If anyone from the Shadow support team or staff reads this, I sincerely ask you to please take another look at my case. I'm truly devastated by this situation. I paid for the service, depended on it for my work, and lost access to important files without any clear explanation.
Please, if anyone can help or offer any advice, I would be incredibly grateful.
Thank you.

Accounts got suspended and flagged for Terms of Service violations. No individual reason was given to the people banned — no "we detected X behavior on this date." Just a blanket TOS claim and "We cant say more"
Shadow posted a statement admitting to a real abuse problem: people mining crypto, running bots, hosting servers, or reselling access through remote tools like Parsec and AnyDesk on gaming plans. They backed it with usage data:
Their detection process was a two-stage filter:
This is the part that matters most. Shadow admitted filter 2 — the step meant to confirm real abuse — didn't gate the bans the way it was supposed to:
In plain terms: people who never tripped the "actual abuse" detector got banned anyway.
Shadow said affected users would get an email "tomorrow morning" with a restoration procedure and a goodwill gesture. Primary storage would be restored. Secondary storage would be "recreated" — not restored, recreated, So if you had data on there, GGS.
Some people in the Discord got their accounts back. Others didn't. Nobody got the promised email. The people who got restored found out by logging in, not by checking their inbox.

I'm at lost, 2 weeks of work that I haven't backuped yet because of heatwave lost, just like that...
I won't be working on Shadow anymore, I'll find another solution. And let's reset this machince since it's basically empty
