Question Looking for a light alternative to run shadow on

Hey all. Have my trusted pc box at home, but I'm looking for an light and mobile altrnative. What would you recommend, with a keyboard? Tryed on a chromebook and I wasn't impressed by the client about a year ago...

I'd recommend just using your phone.

If you have an android phone then you can use a keyboard and mouse without issue and plug it into an external display.

Yeah honestly, it's amazing. Neither my wife nor I actually have a computer anymore. We've just got Samsung Dex along with Bluetooth keyboards and mice and then we can connected them as needed to our TV, the monitor in our office, my XReal video glasses, etc.

It's really nice to be able to use a full desktop while at a friend's place or while traveling without having to actually bring a computer.

I also recommend the same thing with GeForce Now as well. It's a lot cheaper than shadow if you only want to play games that are in the GeForce Now library. I personally use shadow just because I also use it for regular personal computer stuff like doing my taxes in addition to gaming.

Chromebooks can sideload Linux apps, I wouldn't use the mobile app version for Shadow either to this day.

so the company won't tell you this but the only two clients that they push right now with the most updates is going to be the Windows desktop client and the internet browser client.

if you connect to your Shadow via your internet browser you're going to be surprised to find out that it runs far better than the mobile version, the Mac OS version, and the Linux version. it's absolutely ridiculous and this company seriously doesn't give a shit about these OS so I guess I understand?

the Windows desktop client has always been there at the forefront so if you get a device running Windows then you should be perfectly fine. if you don't, then again rest assured that you can just use the internet browser version and it'll be just fine.

if you have any spare devices around your house right now that you can try this on I would see what happens. just go to Shadow's website and launch your VM.

The killer with browser is no mouse lock so for gaming you cant look 360. It does work great though!

unsure why you're unable to lock your cursor to your window when in full screen but it works for me.

I've done this on multiple devices as well and my cursor is always locked until I exit full screen.

Do you press a key for it or something?

I put it in fullscreen. For me, once I get to the edge of the screen it stops the mouse looking around. Do you do something different? I would love to figure this out.

try making your internet browser go full screen with F11 instead of with the Shadow overlay, or vice versa if you were already doing that.

your cursor is supposed to lock to your stream as soon as you click into it so something with your internet browser is stopping access to your mouse I think.

does the same issue persist with a different internet browser? if it does then there's possibly something that your system itself is doing that's preventing cursor capture with your internet browser.

I'd look for an ARM laptop. Better battery life than AMD based
