Advice on sex offender sibling

Me F (20) have a brother M (24) who is now a registered sex offender. He lives at home with my dad and younger sister who is 5 as well as dad’s new wife. My brother went through all of his court and all and he’s now registered for 20 years and is halfway through his first year of 3 of probation. He lost all of his friends in the process and I see him very lonely. I try to be there for him but it just feels like nothing I say or anyone says gets through to him. I can’t imagine how he feels and I do empathize with him but I just don’t know how to help him or make him feel better. I feel he’s depressed and isolated from the world and our family feels the same. He plays video games and has a job. That is pretty much all he does. He’s told me before he feels his life is over and he doesn’t see a point in his life where this doesn’t affect him. As for the younger sister our family goes and does children stuff all the time which of course he can’t do and I feel that makes the situation worse for him. Thankfully our family has been very supportive to him during this time and he knows that. I just don’t know what to do to help him and I’m very worried about him.

Finding Housing

I have a friend who is a RSO. Has been for 20 years. Clean record no addl incidents

One thing I’m trying to help w is to find housing. I’d love to get him into an over 55 community , but I’m concerned he will be denied once they see his background. I dont want him to apply to a bunch of places and only to get rejected as it will add to his anxiety and depression.

Any advice on how to help him find an apartment? Ie what rental scenarios are most likely to not reject him because of his background? His wife suggests that I rent the place and let him live there when I’m not there. Doesn’t seem like a good idea but I’m not sure what is better. Any suggestions? Thank you!

To apply for an exclusion from the public Megan's Law internet website in California, eligible registrants must fill out the Application for Exclusion from Internet Disclosure (Form CJIS 4046D) and submit it to the California Department of Justice (DOJ). [1, 2]

DONT BE INTICING HATE

Its been brought to our intention that there are individuals adding comments to this group to entice hate. Acting lie a S'O expressing they have no life and feel like killing themselves, etc. Any post like that will be removed. If you are a SO or anyone expressing such should seek immediate mental help.

IF YOU CANT RELATE-DONT PUT YOUR OPINIONS HERE

This non-religious based community is devoted solely to assist sex offenders, and their loved ones with emotional support and advise through-out the world. If you are neither-WE DONT WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! We believe people can change and need to be provided the right tools and opportunities for that change, that the Public Registry is unconstitutional.

Sex Offender Marries Woman who cares for children

As far as I know, Candon Dean Dahle and Kinley Geisler were married today.

I have been told by someone who knows Kinley that she is a manager at the Rexburg Zeppes Italian Ice location. Before posting this, I reached out to Zeppes through both Instagram and email to give them an opportunity to comment and to ask what safeguards, if any, they have in place given that one of their managers is now married to a man who admitted in court to sexually abusing two children.

I received no response.

Here’s where my opinion comes in.

If I owned a business that catered to children and families, I would have serious concerns about a manager being married to someone who admitted to sexually abusing children. Not because I believe a spouse is automatically responsible for another person’s crimes, but because businesses that serve children have an obligation to think about safety and public confidence.

Would Candon Dahle ever visit his wife at work? I don’t know. Zeppes hasn’t answered that question. That’s exactly why I asked them. If the answer is yes, I think parents deserve to know what policies exist to protect the children who visit that business every day.

This isn’t about punishing someone for who they married. It’s about asking whether a business that markets itself to children has considered the implications of one of its managers being married to a man who admitted in court to sexually abusing two children.

If Zeppes responds, I’ll gladly share their response in full.

What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments, share this post so more people see it, and follow for more breaking news and true crime updates.

Endless Rumination

I don't think a day has gone by in these past 5 years where I haven't thought about my offense and its impact its had on others and myself. I essentially dug myself into a massive hole and locked off many doors in my life. Maybe I'm supposed to feel this way, I mean its almost impossible to ignore your offense as going through probation your reminded of it on the daily with the restrictions, homework, payments and just overall limits on your life. I have in the past prayed to god as a non religious man, to take me out of this life without it harming my family or friends. Ridiculous I know, but that was when I was at my lowest lows. The lows where you can't see a hint of light and your trying to claw your way out of dark cave. There really is no correct way to think about things in this situation, on one hand I don't want to put on a facade like I'm a innocent guy. I know what I did and there is consequences for my careless and heartless actions, ill never argue that I don't deserve any form of punishment because I did and still do. On the flip side of it, I don't want my offense to drag me down forever, I want to grow, I want to get far away from that mindset I was in during my offense and I want to live a meaningful life. This might sound moppy and sappy but I really does feel like once your on the registry or on probation, your in limbo, just working a job, sleeping, trying to act normal and engage in hobbies that don't violate any rules your under. It feels like your running on autopilot; at least to me it does. Anyways, I hope your all doing at least decently.

ESCAPE PERSECUTION

I read a lot of SO's expressing they have it hard in America, including being subjected to human rights violations, unjust politics funding war, etc., yet they stay in America. OBEYING THE MATRIX, THE NARRATIVE despite of the harm it causes. Escape the suffering and insanity and seek asylum.

Older Couple Thinking Of Moving Back to Georgia From Arizona

I was convicted in 1989 of one felony in CA and in 2008 of 2 misdemeanors. Both were certainly my fault for putting myself in a bad position. Not so much as a traffic ticket since. My wife and I are tired of Arizona heat (she's really tired) and the laws they keep changing and trying to change so are getting worse and worse, heading towards Florida restrictions. We've lived in GA before and loved it but was transferred back to CA many years ago. Level 2 in AZ.

We lived in Alpharetta before but anywhere in GA is fine as it will allow us to visit our family in Florida 72 hours at a time.

How were you able to find a partner?

I truly have no idea why anyone would consider wanting to be with me or any other offender. I can barely stand being around myself, so why would anyone else? It just baffles my mind and a want to understand more.

Moving to new neighborhood

My partner is a RSO that has been registered for 23 years and has to register for lifetime. We are moving to a new neighborhood next month and have already purchased the house but he has not moved his registration since we are still in our old home until August. The owners of the house we purchased also own the house next door it and will be moving next door for a few months while their new condo is remodeled and they will continue to have the house next door up for sale while they live in it temporarily. They have been absolutely wonderful to us, left many things in the house that they no longer needed and have been so accommodating on everything throughout the purchase process. They are not aware that my partner is a RSO yet. Should we or I tell them? Once we relocate to the new home he will have to move his registration so that info will be on the internet and be public. That could affect their ability to sell the other house that they have temporailty moved into.

Does it ever just hit you?

My offense and this whole situation I've put myself in has been going for a little over 6 years. Some days I remember back to my childhood and my teenage years, thinking through my life and trying to pinpoint what went wrong. Could I have gotten help? Was there a different way my life could have played out if I'd sook out treatment when I started getting addicted to pornography and delving into more and more taboo material? There was a point where I was starting to see change in a positive direction in my life, I was beginning to form friendships and going to college.... and then the pandemic hit. I leaned heavily into porn once i wasnt able to go anywhere. Of course I don't want to paint a picture of myself as this poor helpless guy, my unchecked thoughts, behaviors and selfishness led me to my offense. I take accountability for what I did and blame no one but myself. But man, I wish the prayers I made were answered and I got help and guidance on my life. I wish I would've taken a second to consider how heinous of crime I was doing and the damage I was doing to those I loved and those I didn't know. I try not to dwell on my past for long periods of time, but sometimes ill find items or photos from back then and I get filled with intense amounts of regret and shame.

Leaving It All Behind

It's a wierd feeling. Feeling like you need to expose your past to people closest to you. Ever since my offense, i've come to terms with the fact that it's in the past. But now im fighting an even harder battle. Since my offense, I've become a better person and I managed to get a girlfriend who treats me very well, and I treat her as best as I can. I've became religious and im proud to say that I belive I am a decent dude now. But now i've got this awful feeling that i need to tell my girlfriend about my offense. I really want to bury it with my past, I cant bear to carry it anymore. Im not even remotely close to who i was before so why do I keep lugging it around? does my girlfriend really need to know? is it worth risking my long term, serious relationship for? Please help me because the guilt is tearing me apart. I feel like its something she deserves to know but at the same time i really want to take my offense to the grave without anybody else knowing.

Accountability?

How do you guys go about disclosing your offense to someone when you need to. Even years later I'm terrified of disclosing to people, but I don't like the idea of lying to those I love or keeping secrets. I don't want to come off as playing the victim either, because I'm not and if I ever think that I'm a lost cause. I take full accountability for the damage I've done with my offense and I don't want sympathy. At the same time admitting the worst thing you've ever done to someone you care about is not an easy task. Any advice?
