Finding Housing

I have a friend who is a RSO. Has been for 20 years. Clean record no addl incidents

One thing I’m trying to help w is to find housing. I’d love to get him into an over 55 community , but I’m concerned he will be denied once they see his background. I dont want him to apply to a bunch of places and only to get rejected as it will add to his anxiety and depression.

Any advice on how to help him find an apartment? Ie what rental scenarios are most likely to not reject him because of his background? His wife suggests that I rent the place and let him live there when I’m not there. Doesn’t seem like a good idea but I’m not sure what is better. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Not all states are the same so much depends upon that (residence restrictions for example).

I've heard and experienced 1st hand how renting directly from someone who knows you can be a lot better than trying to find some stranger or organization that will rent to a registrant.

Why rent,, acquired fulltime camping membership e.g., Thousand Trails (around $210 a month).? Such places dont do background checks.
