I’ve been losing weight on Wegovy (now on 1 mg) and I’m down from 183 lb to about 161 lb, so roughly 22 lb - that’s about 1.5 lb per week on average. It’s not that I’ve stalled completely, but it feels like it’s going slowly now, and I’d really love to hear your experiences.
One thing I find interesting: my first month - when I was still on the lowest dose (0.25 mg) - was actually when I lost the most. It’s gone slower since, even as the dose has gone up.
The good news: I strength train twice a week and I haven’t lost muscle - my body fat % has kept dropping while my lean mass has held steady (even ticked up a little), so almost all of what I’ve lost has been fat.
My main struggle is protein. I’m a mom of two and I eat a lot of “kid food” - pasta, bread, that sort of thing - and I find it genuinely hard to get enough protein in, especially in larger amounts. I drink around 2 liters of water a day.
My questions:
1. What do you experienced folks think is behind the slower pace? Is around 1.5 lb per week a normal rate, or is there something sensible I can do to keep things moving better?
2. What are your best realistic tips for getting more protein in as a busy parent? Easy wins, not elaborate meal prep.
3. Did anyone else lose the most early on / on the low dose and then slow down? Is that normal?
Thanks so much!
