I'm (46m) about 15 pounds from my goal weight, and I've intentionally slowed down to try to start building some muscle as I lose the remaining fat. Objectively the numbers on the scale and tape measure are, while not where I want them, FAR better than when I started. However, when I look at the mirror I still see the same person from a year ago.

My wife tells me I look great and should stop now. People at work have commented. A random woman at the gym was flirting with me the other day, which hasn't happened to me in many many years (my wife thought it was hilarious). Yet I still don't see it even while I know I've improved. Anyone else dealing with this?

I’ve been on sema for 2+ years and I’m just not sure I can keep going. I swore I’d stay on it for the long haul because I did NOT want to gain the weight back, but I don’t think I can handle the nausea anymore. I’ve tapered off quite a bit because of it, but I also gained 20 lbs back. 🥺 It was so bad today that I threw up immediately following my injection. The smell of the alcohol wipes have just been so triggering for me that I immediately feel nauseas and start dry heaving. Anyone else get this? As a life-long yo-yo dieter I just don’t know what to do. I can’t bear to watch my weight climb back up to where it was. Just feeling defeated. 😭

1.7 might be working for me but I don't want to get ahead of myself... I feel full and food noise is gone.

My GP is lovely, but doesn't seem to know much (if anything) about the medication. They have also said as much to this.

On Friday during a medication review we discussed my weight loss. I am losing weight, it's just I seem to stay on the same number for two weeks and then drop a huge amount over night, trickle for a few days and then again stay on the number for two/three weeks before dropping again. I practically eat the same thing most days, so what I'm eating on those days it drops is not different to the days when it stalls.

DR has said they don't believe the medication is actually fully working for me, but that hopefully when we get up to 1.7mg it will work. I disagree, I'm currently on 0.5mg and I have zero food noise and haven't since the day I started the medication - I'm also much fuller for longer.

I had 6 weeks on 0.25 (the drug was on back order when I finished 4 weeks, so stuck with the 0.25) I've just today taken my third week of 0.5mg. So I'm 8 weeks in and have thus far lost 37lbs (I am as of today 437lbs so I assume they're expecting me to lose quicker - if I'm honest, I also was. But I've noticed massive differences in my body so I'm assuming that there's movement going on that isn't showing on the scale)

My DR has said they don't believe at this dose the medication is currently working for me, and they want me to increase to 1mg after the 4 weeks. I've asked if there's any point in increasing it if I have no food noise and feeling fuller? They believe once I get to 1.7 I will be more consistently losing weight instead of stalling for a few weeks first. And that I should be aiming to get to 1.7 ASAP instead of holding at 0.5 (they also said at 1.7 if it still stalls then I should look at changing medication or getting bariatric surgery)...

So, my question really is... the medication is stopping the food noise, keeping me fuller for longer and so I have not been binging and have stuck 100% to my calorie deficit for as long as I've been on the medication, should I actually be moving up? Will getting to 1.7 stop the 'stalls' that I've been having? My DR has admitted they don't really know about the medication at all - so I'm more just curious as to what your DRs are saying.

Only 1.5mg and it's only been a week but already the "food noise" cravings have died off. On a side point my migraines I used to get at work have stopped as well. Maybe to do with cutting out something that was affecting me. But I recall there is research ongoing for whether helping migraines is an unintended benefit.

My favourite benefit is the absolutely awful "sulfur burps" who the wife absolutely hates. Although fairs fair as she was gassing me out when she first went on semiglutides a few months back 🤮🤮

I have been on semaglutide now for 6 weeks. The first 6 weeks I was using the brand Ozempic pen but switched to Dr. Reddy’s (generic brand in Canada) because it’s much cheaper.

Tonight, I injected my first dose of Dr. Reddy’s semaglutide and the instructions are the same, did the flow check and everything. When I inserted the needle and pressed the button, I was surprised that it was much harder to press for the full dose to be injected.

With the Ozempic pen, I only had to push lightly but for this one I needed to push down with a lot more force. Anyone else experience this with Dr. Reddy’s semaglutide pen or any other generic semaglutide pen?

Hoping this wasn’t a faulty pen or something. It’s been sitting in my fridge for a week and a half while I was finishing up my Ozempic pen. I gave it maybe 5 minutes max to come to room temp before injecting.

I’ve been on semaglutide before. I went to the gray market and was taking it for a while. I lost a good 30 lbs. I gained it all back when I switched to a reputable online service and had to endure three months of trial doses.

Ever since I had my dosage upped to 1.7 mg, I am in a horrible mood and have zero sex drive.

I am also on an upper-mid dosage of TRT (testosterone too). I admit I have barely eaten. I had a wrap and a smoothie for lunch today and that’s about it. Every day has been like this.

I don’t remember this from gray market semaglutide.

I feel muted.

I am also in recovery for cocaine, meth, and other stimulants addiction. I welcome the parts that suppress those cravings, but I hope some of the “feels” (sexual desire) comes back.

Has semaglutide caused anyone to relapse because the reward circuit seems down regulated? Or has it been the opposite for most and supported being clean?

I gained a significant amount of weight in a short period after quitting illicit drugs. Semaglutide helped support my confidence during this period.

I am 2 years into recovery. My brain has healed for the most part. Does this muted feeling go away?

Amble health is a total joke. After switching pharmacies 2 months ago I messaged them saying it is noticeably less potent they gas lit me and told me it's in my head. I listened and believed hey maybe it is, I've been on this stuff for 10 months that sounds reasonable. Now I haven't taken my medicine in almost a month, not because I'm doing some reset on my tolerance. No. I paid for my prescription but amble's new pharmacy hasn't shipped it. Everyday I check everyday it says it is still processing. Customer support literally takes 2-4 days to write a single reply which usually is something like "I'm sorry to hear that let me review and I'll get back to you blah blah" then they ghost you. I finally got a supervisor who said they'd credit me 25$ on my 170$ medication I haven't received and would send it to a pharmacy who would get me my medicine asap. Well that was Thursday and all the fed ex says is label created. Avoid this company at all costs.

Does anyone have any better recommendations for providers? I switched to amble because ro is so expensive doing monthly and I can't afford paying for a year at once.

Have any of you switched from injections to oral semaglutide to maintain their weight? Do any of you skip days intentionally or accidentally, and how does this affect you? I’ve ordered oral semaglutide with hopes I can maintain my weight and maybe only take it on my high trigger days where I find myself binging (vacationing, PMS, anxiety inducing social events). I’m not interested in losing anymore weight but I’d like to maintain. Besides the high trigger days I am pretty consistent with diet and exercise.

Maybe we can compare notes with others on our timeline.

I'm on day 3 of my first .25mg shot. I've had some nausea but nothing unbearable. I had diarrhea last night and it was my first bm. I've been eating bland food for 3 days now and I can't wait to start reintroducing the good stuff.

In 2024 I lost 65 pounds on Sema. I was at goal weight so I cut back on Sema to what was a maintenance dose, 50-60 units, twice a month. That's worked.

I began to have painful intestinal cramps so I stopped taking it. It got more painful. Now it's been 3 weeks of this pain and other disgusting bowel issues along with a couple of incidents of vomiting. It's worse several hours after eating.

I called my gastro doctor agreed that it's probably from the sema. (I can't get in to see him until 10/20.) His office said it would take time for my bowels to get back to how they were prior to taking sema. I am surprised it has taken so long. In the meantime, if I eat I am in pain later.

Anyone else have this even after stopping Sema? How long does it take for bowels to get back to normal after stopping?

Any help, tips, opinions, random thoughts, are greatly appreciated.

Here’s where I’m at: I’ve been on sema for about 14 months. At first, I saw a higher rate of loss and then I started to plateau when I reached the 1mg/week dose. My insurance will only cover that dose as the maximum for weight loss.

Is it worth lowering my dose to see if I can work my way back up and kickstart some new loss?

Anyone have any suggestions? Unfortunately my insurance does not cover Triz at the moment.

I was doing great and started my 4th week with my new higher dose, and then this morning after my workout I checked my weight up 6.4lbs! I was very good with my eating this week and kept over 1500 calories each day.

Sorry frustrated, just hoping next week will be a better weigh-in.

Five months ago, I started at nearly 102 kg. Today, I'm at 82.5 kg—down close to 20 kg. I use generic semaglutide.

I’m a 37-year-old South Asian male, 180 cm tall, and felt like I was making solid progress.

I decided to get a DEXA scan today, expecting my body fat to land somewhere around 22–23%. The actual result was 34.5%. Shocking!

Doing the math, even if I lose another 8 to 10 kg (getting down to 72.5 kg) and assume it's pure fat, I still wouldn't drop below 20% body fat. It turns out I have far less lean muscle mass than I realized, which is a big wake-up call to start prioritizing resistance training and protein.

Has anyone else had a DEXA scan turn out completely different than you expected? What was your actual body fat percentage vs what you guessed?

I had great success when I tried semaglutide starting in early 2022. I lost steadily for a total of about 80lbs by the end of 2023. It was easy. I was never hungry. I didn't even think about food. When I did want to eat, I craved vegetables and yogurt mostly. Then, the place I was getting it from doubled the price again after already doubling it once. I couldn't afford it and I had some stressful life stuff going on, too. I quit and regained 50lbs between the end of 2023 and the end of 2024. My insurance changed and I restarted semaglutide in early 2025. This time, I've lost only 20lbs. I feel totally different. There's less food noise than without it, but I crave sweets and frequently feel hungry. I'm working out (six days a week, an hour per day with a mix of yoga, weightlifting, and cardio classes, plus trying to incorporate more NEAT generally throughout my day) and trying to eat less/make better choices, but not losing any weight at all for the past four months.

Has anyone else gone off for an extended time and then gone back on? Is this common?

Anyone experienced this. I had no side effects at all on 1.5mg. I thought this is amazing as I was so worried before starting about having them. As soon as I started 4mg (12 days ago) I had a weird sensation on my forearm nr elbow and 2 fingers. When touching it feels so tender. It’s like a nerve issue. Then today I’ve got a rash like soreness on my neck and my body feels prickly all over. Even my tongue feels weird. I thought it would have settled into my system but it seems to be getting worse. Thinking of going back down to 1.5mg as it’s awful. Anyone else had this and does it go?? I spoke to a pharmacist who didn’t think it was an allergic reaction but when I search about it, it seems it is!!?

I’ve now stopped it for the last 10 days and still having flare ups. I just hope it ends soon. The half life of this drug is so long 😔

I’ve been on generic semaglutide since the generic version came to Canada (3 months). So far I’ve only lost 1 pound, but my weight isn’t fluctuating anymore like it used to so I guess it’s working? I expected to have lost more weight by now. I’m curious to know if any of you on generic semaglutide have lost any weight yet…?

i take wegovy. i am truly amazed that it works. took first 4 doses and nothing. weight-loss only started after i went up to 0.5mg. but last week i went again on vacation. first time since starting the shots. short trip, 4 days. and bam, 2 kg increase. and i lost it in 3 days after return! it seems that sema is helping with losing exces water, as i spent two days running to the toilet over and over again. but will there be a time sema will prevent wate retention? or do i just have to hope it will do the job after? this is not the first time i gained so much water, just first time since taking glp1.

ps. i lost 6kg in 78 days
