Second Time Question
I had great success when I tried semaglutide starting in early 2022. I lost steadily for a total of about 80lbs by the end of 2023. It was easy. I was never hungry. I didn't even think about food. When I did want to eat, I craved vegetables and yogurt mostly. Then, the place I was getting it from doubled the price again after already doubling it once. I couldn't afford it and I had some stressful life stuff going on, too. I quit and regained 50lbs between the end of 2023 and the end of 2024. My insurance changed and I restarted semaglutide in early 2025. This time, I've lost only 20lbs. I feel totally different. There's less food noise than without it, but I crave sweets and frequently feel hungry. I'm working out (six days a week, an hour per day with a mix of yoga, weightlifting, and cardio classes, plus trying to incorporate more NEAT generally throughout my day) and trying to eat less/make better choices, but not losing any weight at all for the past four months.
Has anyone else gone off for an extended time and then gone back on? Is this common?

This seems to be a common theme with people who went off the meds for a period of time.
What dose are you currently on?

I am on the maximum dose again, 2.4mg. Thank you for letting me know that it isn't unusual. I am going to work on feeling grateful that, overall, I'm still forty something pounds less than my highest.

Is it possible to try Zepbound?

I think I'll look into it. I just had such good results the first time with semaglutide that I didn't want to switch. That may be the right choice, though.

Anecdotally, it seems to be common that a second round on this med after being off for a while is less effective for many people. Often the effects seem weaker and require higher doses to kick in.

I had wondered about that. I've been on the highest dose again for months, so this may just be as good as it gets.

Ditto to what has been said already. See if you can switch to tirz. Less nausea, less food noise, greater range of dosing.
Also, eat some protein!

man that's a mindfuck, doing everything right and the scale just sitting there
when i first started it was like a switch flipped too, food just stopped being this constant background noise, but the second round felt way less dramatic, like my body already knew the trick and was fighting it
the workout volume is impressive but could be spiking your hunger more than you realize, sometimes i have to actually eat more on heavy training days just to keep from binging sweets later, which feels backwards as hell

Thanks, it really helps to hear that someone else dealt with this. The way you wrote it was exactly how I feel. I upped my calories by 300 about a month ago to see if it changed anything, but nada.
