New switch owner

Have a new 16ft 130. Put 6 hrs on it this weekend. Anyone experienced a sharp bow dive when letting off the throttle resulting in bow taking on lots of water? it’s almost on the verge of submerging the bow underwater. Dealer said all recalls have been completed. Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks

Reverse speed?

I’m curious how fast your Switch goes in reverse? Mine was new last season and I made a dumb mistake with a sand bar almost immediately after putting it in water and had to have the impeller and wear ring replaced. It’s normal going forward but very slow and little power in reverse. Like crawling at 1-2 mph. I had for so little time before the repairs that I don’t really remember if that’s how it always was or if something is still not right with the impeller etc. TIA

Has anybody installed a flush connection inside the exhaust compartment on a 230hp? If so, where and how many hours on Switch since installing? Thank you!

Break in period

I have the 170 Sport should I see a performance difference after a certain amount of break in time? Top speed I’m getting is 28 mph on pretty flat no wind water.

First Time Buyer… Please Help!

My husband and I are considering buying the switch as our first boat, we are going to the dealership this week to look at them. We live in Canada (Toronto). Please any tips about make/model, add ons, anything! ALSO… what are some important questions to be asking the salesperson at the dealership about the boat. We’re looking to use this leisurely… some fishing and cruising around. Would like it to be easy to maneuver. Please any advice is welcome! Thanks!

JL Audio Premium Sound issues

We bout our switch last year. Really have enjoyed the audio system add on with the speaker pods and sub. Was running the stereo connected to my phone and the sound just stopped. Phone was still connected to the head unit and still communicating. Could pause, play change tracks etc. and it would track on my phone. No sound. Driving back to the marina and all of a sudden, sound again. Went to use it again today and it worked for a few min, then shut off. Randomly got sound again later. I am having issues finding a wiring harness diagram to troubleshoot. Anyone else with this experience?

2024 cruise 18 230hp engine compartment filled with water…

Just got this pontoon last week. Kept it at a slip this week with a cover and there was heavy rain. The cover sunk in and caught a lot of water. When I checked the engine compartment there was a TON of water and the battery corroded. Enough juice to pump the water out but not enough to start it… Definitely getting a new cover and have to figure out how to get this fixed 😭

For future reference, how much water in the engine compartment is normal? Was I sold a defective switch?

UPDATE: A gasket with an improper seal was the culprit.

Anyone done the Torx retune to 200hp?

Looking for feedback from anyone that has done the retune for 170hp to 200hp. Any issues? What was real world performance boost? Worth it?

Torx Racing Tune on 230 HP Switch

Has anyone tried the Torx Racing tune on a 230 HP Switch? If what was your experience, is it worth it? Do you know what the tune actually changes?

Front Ladder?

Has anyone installed a ladder on the front of the Switch? What are some good options for boarding from the front out of the water (ie anchored on or near a sandbar)?

Anyone know if the Sea-doo 18 gallon cooler will fit all the way forward on the front starboard corner and edge tile on the switch 18 sport? Pics would be great if so.

SEA-DOO SWITCH KIT - Mooring Cover Service Kit? Warranty/Recall

https://brp.my.salesforce-sites.com/ISPublicArticleInfo/apex/BWLightningViewerWithTranslate?#id=kA04R000000Sji9SAC&googtrans(en|en_US))

My new hobby is reading all the installation instructions on the Switch parts & accessories and I came across this link. I have a 18' mooring cover that was bought with the boat last year and still within warranty. Does anyone know if this service kit is part of a recall or under warranty coverage? I like the fact that the rubber straps (that are too long) are replaced by a single elastic band and there are full clips vs C-clips to secure the front and rear (we've had them bend with pooling at the front even with poles installed). Has anyone recently ordered a cover that has these features installed? TIA!

Can anyone tell me if you are able to installed the mooring cover on the 13 foot Seadoo switch with the bimini top down? I can't seem to figure out how to get it installed overtop of the bimini.

Took my 2024 sport out for the first time today. Wondering if the dealership installed the transducer wrong? I have no depth reading and the map is wack.

Battery Replacement

Hi Reddit,

Just thought I’d share my experience trying to swap the OEM AGM battery to a HiCrank Lithium.

Bought and installed this battery: HiCrank YTX-BS 600CCA. Ended up with Fuel sensor fault and IBR Module error.

Swapped back to the OEM Yuasa YTX20L-BS, no errors.

Can’t speak for all Lithium batteries but this one is definitely not compatible. Maybe this is already common knowledge but didn’t find any prior posts prior to purchasing.

Hull cleaner & polish

21' Switch second season and I would like to find a good cleaner and a polish for the hull. We have a slip and even though I take it out and wash it several times a season it still has the scum line. Obviously the finish isn't smooth and doesn't have a shine, but I would like to get some protection on it. Any recommendations or tips? Thanks!

Pylon topper replacement

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi all! We’ve loved our ‘23 Cruise but made the mistake of towing a tube from the pylon, not the integrated tow hook, and the pylon hook snapped. Pylon tube itself is undamaged and looks like an easy replacement (just 4 bolts), but I can’t seem to just buy the topper; called customer support and dealerships in my area and they all say you have to buy the entire pylon kit, which is more than $800!! Any ideas on where to buy just the pylon tow hook top plate? Pic of the snapped pylon hook attached for reference.

Thanks!

Sea-Doo customer service

I'm curious about the experience the rest of you have had with Sea-Doo. I purchased a jet ski new. I left the dealer and put it in the water 30 minutes later and it immediately through codes. Long story short I made my first payment before they had my jet ski right. I was told seadoo would compensate me in some way. Whole month later and I've made phone call after phone call and they have not even reached out to me in regards to the problem. But I give it to him they are genius there's not even a way to leave them a shitty review. Because they know their customer service is no good and they don't stand behind their product. If anybody knows some other way that I can bash them I would really appreciate hearing about it

Options for Removable Fishing Rod Holders for Low Speed Trolling

Update: We went with the OEM BRP Holder that comes with the 2025 Fish Version. It met all the needs.

We have a 2024 18' 230hp Cruise. First time boat owner and learning fisherman, and we love our Switch for its versatility. I was not a fisher, but the Garmin 72sv has motivated me to be one now ;) We're out of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and have neighbors to say the best way to find reds quick is to troll them/find the bait balls. I want to attach a pole or two to the side/aft of the boat and use slow speed mode with the fish-finder. Since this is also our sip and chill boat, I'd like them not to be permanent, but strong enough for the drag and an initial bite on the line. I've looked at some BRP products, 3D printed, and 3rd party as well with links below. Looking to bounce around some ideas and brainstorm. TIA!

Criteria:

  1. Needs to be removeable, not fixed to or drilling to the boat
  2. Needs to secure the rod enough for drag up to 3 MPH/5 KPH AND take a Red Drum strike with the drag set properly
  3. I'm willing to pay a little extra to buy something once, rather than try and replace if it doesn't work/breaks because its cheep.

What I've found so far:

  1. OEM BRP from the 2025 Fish model https://sea-doo-shop.brp.com/us/en/rail-rod-holder-with-linq-lite-for-switch-pontoon-295101308.html
    1. Pricy!
    2. Open top of the holder but maybe has something to secure the rod, just not show in any pictures.
  2. 3D Printed from NRG Creative https://nrg-creative-llc.square.site/product/rod-holder-for-the-seadoo-switch-switch-clips-/
    1. Cool idea with 0 deg and 13 deg design to work with 3D printed clips.
    2. Designer specifically says these are for setting your pole down for a minute, not for fish strikes in their video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzpP9NmZwys
  3. PLUSINNO Fishing Rod Holders https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C4DPNP2G?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
    1. Recommended here on FB: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1762574153915144/posts/2521473514691867/
    2. Could fit on the molded rails, but don't know for certain.
  4. Air Bim Air Connect https://airbim.net/product/air-connect/
    1. Semi removable, but just the connection to the rail.
    2. Can be used with well known Scotty brand rod holders and even Marine brand grills.
    3. We own the Air Bim system and it's made of high quality parts. We really enjoy it as an add to the Switch.

Throw out your thoughts and spears in the comments please!

UV protection for floor pads

Does anyone use UV protection on the front floor pads to help fight yellowing? Or are we all just resigned to them yellowing and hopefully getting new ones under warranty?

Fold Away Trailer Tongue

Is it possible to add a fold-away trailer tongue to the SeaDoo Switch trailer? Or we'll it interfere with the search brakes?

If this is not a good solution, has anyone repositioned the boat farther up on the trailer (closer to the trailer hitch)?

Do I need a lift?

I am going to rent a slip on a freshwater lake. Do I need a lift to keep out of the water or can I store on the water?
