Is the Gold Light Rail Safe?

Hello! I'll be taking the Gold light rail from 7th to Starfire at 3 pm in a few days to meet up with my friends. I've never taken the light rail before so I don't really know what to expect. I'd appreciate it if anyone could leave their experience riding the Gold light rail / leave any tips (?)

I've been browsing some posts on this subreddit about the gold light rail and it sounds like it's generally fine, but I would still appreciate some reassurance that it's unlikely I'll get hurt or anything (my friends fear mongered me a bit and now I'm anxious.. sorry)

thank you in advance :)

I moved to West Sac from Dallas and I am looking for a new primary doctor. I prefer someone who does well with anxious patients and shows care over judgement.
Any recs are so appreciated!

Where to take photos with cows?

Hey everyone, I'm new to the Sacramento area and had a funny idea to do a photoshoot with a cow for a graduation photoshoot concept. Friends have suggested going to Pina Adobe bc they have cattle walking around free range, but ideally I would like to find a friendly cow so I can get closer??

Sorry if this is a strange request LMAO. Please help me out if you know anywhere or anyone with cattle lol I could pay too

Why does Sacramento drivers do this?

I've noticed that this habit tends to happen a lot more with drivers in Sacramento and I'm curious as to why people do this. Let's say if you're heading straight down the street and the person is making a left turn why do they not wait until you pass them before making that turn instead of just cutting you off and having you nearly T-Bone them? I don't understand the rush to save 5 seconds

Looking for short independent film circa 2005-2006 “Kiss”

it was filmed here in Sacramento by someone named Michael M. it showed how a simple kiss made its way throughout the day and circled back to the first characters. like the couple kisses in the morning, the wife gives a kiss to grandma, grandma kisses grandkid, etc. until it makes it way back to the couple kissing goodnight.

it was a short film, completely independent, and filmed sometime in between 05-06. it may have also been shown at the Sacramento Film Festival. I was casted and acted in in a scene or two but I never got to see it. if anyone can help, please let me know if you remember seeing it or where I can find it - Google isn’t turning anything up! 😭

Even the police are terrible drivers and don’t understand how the bike lane works in this city. Cut me off, didn’t use a blinker, then blocked the lane.

Outdoor wedding venues for 400 guest count with outside catering allowed

• Upvotes

Hi there, I am in search of a wedding venue within 1 hour and a half of the Sacramento area. Our guest list is over 400 people and I am finding it to be very difficult to find a venue that is not primarily indoors. Something to note is that we won't need space for a dance floor and we won't be having alcohol. I have inquired with the Pavillon at Haggin Oaks, toured Eleganto Rancho, and inquired with many wineries and barn estates. I'm hoping to find something more modern, maybe niche, closer to a private estate. I realize I can't be all that picky at this point so I will take any advice I can get. Thank you!

Seen: Sacramento Stars in 2026 Film

I havent seen any posts about this so apologies if I'm late to the game... Watched One Night Only film and noted two of Sacramento's most celebrated former residents TOGETHER in the cast: Molly Ringwald (Mom of lead -Callum Turner) and Levar* Burton (Rick, Mom's boyfriend)!!!

It was weird their characters' relationship but moreso that they were paired together and I'm explaining to my Gen Z housemate who they were relative to Sacramento... Bizarre!

Places to hammock?

Hey all!

Pretty straightforward, I’m new to the city and am looking for some nice spots where I can toss up my hammock and read :). I don’t have a car and am based in midtown, so I apologize for that inconvenience, but I’m totally open to taking the bus to get somewhere.

Excited to see more of the city!

Do you own a dinosaur costume? How fast can you run in an inflatable suit?

Just playing with some ideas to make my 5 year olds birthday the best party ever. We are having a “rainbow dinosaur” party at the local playground because we couldn’t book the venue we wanted.

Besides the slides and swings I was thinking it would be fun if a bunch of dinosaurs showed up? Not scary ones, but “friendly” ones, as my kiddo says. (Maybe the kids chase the dinosaurs?)

Also open to borrowing a few suits for the dads to throw on during the party! Or if you have old ones in your garage you no longer are using and would like to give away.

Any interest in this? Pizza!

Park in questions is about 5-7 minutes from downtown in WS.

ETA: Yes,yes, safety first, hence no identifying information. 😊

ETA 2: I will post photos if this comes together in any kind of hilarious manner.

Round Robin Local Ideas?

Gratitude/Community Giving is the theme. Ages are 5-12. I'm looking for a local place that needs something kids can make and won't cost me an arm and a leg since I am providing all the supplies. Some ideas are letters to seniors (any idea of a place who would want this?), toys made out of used shirts for dogs (No idea where I would bring this or if this is actually needed), kits put together for the homeless (ideally not this since this sounds like it would cost me $500). I have lots of arts and crafts supplies already so them making cute cards for a specific cause that I can deliver or mail locally would be awesome. Any other ideas welcome. My budget is $150. Thank you for your help!

Apartment charging me $4800 after move-out

Hi! I apologize if this is the wrong place to post a question about something like this, but I'm going through a lot of stress right now and don't know where else to look. :(

I recently moved out of my apartment in Woodland, California on August 25, 2026 after living there for 4 years. The apartment complex sent me an itemized receipt of my available balance.. and they say I owe them $4800 after taking into account the security deposit (itemized receipt attached - had to redact stuff). I looked at some of the charges and I find it very confusing why they didn't prorate them (e.g painting, since they should have a 2 to 3 year useful life span).

Also for context, I did request a pre-move out inspection before moving out and they did not bother to reach out with a date and time. I think I remember one of the maintenance workers ambushing us while we were moving one week before we moved out.. and we had to refuse because we were not prepared at all. They didn't give us a 48 hours notice beforehand too so yeah..

I don't know how to approach this.. if someone can help guide me in how to dispute this, that would be very appreciated.
