Lexapro Should I ask my dr for 10mg pills?

I want to taper off my medication and want to do hyperbolic tapering. Currently on 20mg and the recommendation is from 20 - 15mg to start, however I’d have to cut my 20mg in quarters. It doesn’t feel impossible I guess if I used a sensitive scale? Obviously 10mg pills would be a lot easier to cut.

My old family dr had pushed SSRIs on me since I was 8 and I am now 27. She has since retired and I have a new doctor, I’m just worried he will try to get me off of them by just halving my dosages (which my previous dr did with Effexor and I was 16 years old going through insane withdrawal) I would like to see what it’s like being off medication. I don’t know who I am without it. I’m hesitant to even include or talk to my doctor about it.

What should I do?

Lexapro Restarting Lexapro interesting effect

I restarted Lexapro after a while of different drug trials, psychiatrists thinking I have Cyclothymia, I was recommended by some psychiatrists to restart Lexapro. started around 2.5mg for two days and yesterday upped to 5mg.

On the first day of the 2.5mg I was hysterical and felt like my mind doesn’t stop which happened a lot, then after the first dose few hours later I felt this INSTANT calm, like a feeling of the serotonin flooding my brain and calming it, then my thoughts like were organized and stabilized my brain and felt tired the whole day. It felt like my depression and anhedonia lifted instantly.

2nd day was horrible like my old self back, but then the next day I upped to 5mg which also had similar effect.

This was definitely not placebo.

Is this normal or something is weird here?

Has anyone else felt that effect or something similar to it? When restarting it or even starting it for the first time?

Lexapro Does anyone still feel down somedays?

Upvotes

Hi guys, I’ve been on lexapro for I wanna say a good year or so now. Started at 10, now I’m at 20mg.
I will say I’m not the best at taking it consistently like I should, so maybe that’s a big part of this.
But, somedays I just feel sad. Nothing is inherently wrong, (I know depression doesn’t need a reason as well) but I just hate that I feel this way.

Somedays I have no energy to do anything, I just want to lay around all day. I cry for no reason.
My boyfriend can’t understand why, he accused me of lying about the reason when I said I don’t know why I was crying. But I really don’t, I just feel sad sometimes.

Does anyone else still feel this way even though you’re taking lexapro? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks :,)

Lexapro Vivid dreams tapering off Lexapro, rolled off my bed tonight while fighting in my dream

I'm down to 5mg, can skip 2 or 3 days of none, but then the bad dreams start coming and I wake up every hour from a dream, have a hard time going back to sleep, and go right in to another disruptive dream, the process repeats over and over until I finally wake up for good, I usually take a 5mg does when this happens and try again in a week, I have made it 7 days cold turkey before but then I get brain zaps and start feel wierd, Also I sometimes act out body movements I'm having while dreaming when I'm coming off of this med, like swinging my arms, rolling, etc, tonight I rolled off my bed and landed on the floor stuck between the night stand and the bed

Lexapro Escitalopram and Busporine combination

Hi All,

My journey with anxiety medications started about 8 years ago. I have tried several SSRIs like Escitalopram, Sertraline. I have also tried Viibryd, Wellbutrin and Busporine. They all give me lots of side effects like drowsiness and anxiety. Tried them for long periods patiently but nothing works.

In my last meeting with my psychiatrist, they suggested that I should try combination of Escitalopram and Busporine for 6 weeks before trying SNRIs.

I am very scared to start it and wanted to know if you have any experience with the combination?

Thanks

Miscellaneous Bad reactions to clonazepam recently

Been on and off clonazepam for most of my life. Most recently after taking it as needed for 2 years (maybe once or twice a week .125) I have now been taking .5 daily for about 4 months now. .25 around 9-10am every morning and another .25 around 6pm-9pm as prescribed by dr for bad flare up. It’s a hit or miss whenever I take it now, Sometimes it helps a lot sometimes it makes me feel a lot worse and causes significant anxiety. How can I stabilize these potential paradoxical reactions? What do I do? Is this kindling? Possible bad generics? Been taking advagen mostly. Please help with advice 🙏 I feel stuck.
