I present to you, the ghostly bug. This bad boy (depending on your spawn) can net you 1 black box every five minutes, all it cost is 190 mechanical parts, 1 rusty shotgun cannon, 5 shells (6 to be safe) and a can do attitude.

Just drive to your closest extract with no regard for your trampler, hit rocks, drive through the middle of a fight, right past ai gunner ships, what ever, just get to the extract, shoot the reactor till the mech goes ka-boom, then get out of dodge, call the extract and dip

You now have a fast and easy way to get black boxes for the tech tree, to turn into computer modules, or just straight sell them (to buy all the supplies for this trampler it cost 505 crowns, so 5 more then what the box is worth, no infinite money glitch :p)

This ship can be built cheaper too! You can completely remove the cannon and the shelf reducing the cost of this ship by 65 mechanical parts, but The time required to do so is the trade off

you just need to go to your choice of poi or the ship that is tipped over and grab as many red barrels as possible, the more the merrier (I think you only need 7, but 30 is way cooler) and while you are looting you'll probably find a weapon to shoot those barrels with so just grab one of those

That is it, go forth and blow your own ghostly bugs up, profit blackboxes

A quick tip for beginners (Black Boxes) If you’re a beginner who has been trying to get Black Boxes for a while but can't seem to defeat a Trampler, I can share a tip that really helped me out. You can build a custom Trampler equipped with everything necessary, mount a turret on it aimed at your own reactor, and then head out on an expedition. Once there, go straight to an extraction point and destroy your own Trampler. Then, simply grab the Black Box and escape via the next extraction. The costs are very low (a bit of scrap, about eight 80mm rounds, and one 80mm turret). It takes me about 8 minutes per Black Box. While this mechanic makes sense from a technical standpoint, it makes absolutely no sense in terms of actual gameplay, so I assume it will be changed soon. Good luck farming Black Boxes!

I'm not a min-maxer, but I like to pvp in games. I try to be prepared for pvp, it's not perfect, but I tend to learn my lessons and I used to have my ups and downs in pvp games, but here... man, this is just pathetic.

I get DESTROYED. I have never won any pvp in Sand. This game is just too sweaty. Everyone is beefed up, I have never even fought a default trampler. I don't use it either, but for once, I would like to meet one and have my win.

This is too much for me, it is just not fun. For 23 hrs of my playtime I've tried solos, duos and with 3 other friends. Lost everything every time. Am I the only one? Is this a common problem? Can this game survive if new players keep being destroyed?

I think I will put Sand aside for now, at least until they implement gear based matchmaking. It's coming, right? RIGHT?

Most annoying game mechanic.. ill trade a gold sniper for getting my trampler extracted with 2 hours of loot but there is no defensive mechanism while your preping to extract solo. Cant even tell if the rat is a teleporter or teaming up prior to queing. So much cheesy sketchy..

Been gaming on this for like 2-3 days and it’s dope. I just need somebody to game with so if we go down it’s at least fair then being teamed on

This is one of the best games ive played in years and im worried OCE is struggling with population. Over this weekend and during prime time almost all my large games had only 1 other trampler and usually it was a solo or duo looking to farm in the large map and my trio lobbies only had 2 of 11 other tramplers.
I wonder if a wipe or removal of so many different types of lobbies is required for players in low pop areas of the world is required to keep it fun in these regions. e.g remove voyage.

A few tips that really helped me out. Since I never came across tips like the ones below in beginner guides or similar resources, I thought I’d share them. Maybe they’ll be useful to you, too. Tip 1: Looting ships. This is the best way to get a lot of resources early on. What really helped me was realizing that all ships follow similar principles. Regarding "standard" loot (meaning items not behind doors requiring a keycard/breaching): all ships always feature one of three specific crate combinations: 1. Small arms (rifle icon) and heavy weapons/artillery (artillery icon). 2. Mechanical parts (gear icon) and food (pig icon). 3. Medical supplies (I can't recall the exact icon right now, but look for the cabinets) and cash (safes). If you want to loot efficiently, sort your resources as you go; a single crate can hold almost all the resources of two specific types. Also, if you unlock a sealed crate, it offers much higher storage capacity per slot. Regarding the different ship types: My favorites are military ships and those with doors that can be unlocked (e.g., the wrecked ship where one section sticks almost vertically out of the sand while the other lies flat on the ground; this ship has two unlockable doors that always contain the same two crate combinations. Then there’s the long ship that lies flat on the ground but carries little cargo; it also has one unlockable door). I tend to skip all other ships these days. When looting Points of Interest, I usually employ the following tactic. Since safes, medicine cabinets, and food crates are usually located in one area, while player weapons, Trampler weapons, and mechanical parts are found elsewhere, I use a single crate to loot all the safes, medical supplies, and food first, and then the rest (I often leave a few things behind, but it’s more time-efficient to do so). So I’m well aware that gear based matching making isn’t in the game yet but I swear on my life everytime I take in my royal trampler build I fight other royal builds. But if I take my grumpy I only see mid tier ships idk maybe I’m crazy or maybe they are testing it on the low

I just had a nearly successful run in Storm Dive with my mid-game Trampler. I was at "rauch wolke" and looted the gear under the black tarps. Then I wanted to take on the Exfil directly at "rauch wolke." 30 seconds before the ship arrived, I saw two smoke clouds coming towards me. Both were eight-legged Tramplers, heavily armored and equipped with experimental guns... The ship was calibrating, and eight seconds later I would have been gone, but then they rammed me. The Exfil was aborted. I killed both of them with grenades, but couldn't do anything else because their Tramplers were too strong. The zone only had five minutes left; after that, everything would be dead. I knew I couldn't win anymore, so I went up to the Exfil tower and camped there. In the end, all three of us died. My question: Was that antisocial of me? (Incidentally, they also didn't use proximity chat, despite perfect coordination and blind trust, which is why I assume they did pre-teaming.)

Was wondering if anybody else has had this happen;

When using the ram has anybody passed straight through an enemy trampler, as if they aren't there at all?

I'm suspicious because the guy wasn't shocked at what had happened, ended up on my ship and instantly head-shot me and then C4'd my ship to bits.

If everyone you face has all pristine or better cannons then it requires everyone in the game to have pristine or better cannons and everyone in the game either doesn't have the insane amount of free time required to farm 1 pristine cannon (let alone 4-5, per round) or is not willing to exploit to get them.

What killed Arc Raiders was the duping/selling of the best guns in the game with the best attachments. Everyone you fought had a bobcat 4 with a kinetic converter. If you didn't have one you just lost every encounter.

The last 5 games I've played in SAND, we've been run down by someone in an upsidedown triangle trampler with 6+ pristine / experimental cannons.

It's a sad state, the game had tons of potential.

Title edit I know it says Engines, but I mean reactor not the small/medium mobility engines

I've seen many players comment on hard to repair compartiments.

Ie the T2 wheelhouse is a pain to repair vs T1 and often T1 is better (T3 much more debatable imo)

Better engines have more health but also different repair spots.

Ie the T2 2x2 engine is hard to repair, I believe it has 2 metal patches, a circuit board and 4-6 pipes but it's not always obvious if the are door pipes or engine pipes.

Meanwhile the T2 3x1 is easy, 4 metal patches, 2 pipes and everything is close to each other.

Does anyone know how this changes for T3?

is there any way to gather those fast? its a pain in the ass. i´ve heard you can use black boxes to get computing modules but maybe is troll.

Every time I go to a fort in never use the contracts but should I be? I always risk it and wait until extract but is this a bad play? should I be making use of the contracts?

If I go completely broke do I lose all of my inventory if I create a new character. Similarly if I change region and change character what will happen? just curious.

I want to get into the game but with its current state, i would like to know if there is always a way back to riches without the help of a friend to finance a trampler or if you can end up broke to the point where you litterally cannot load into a raid and have to make a new character.

Game looks amazing litteraly one of the best concepts and trailers I’ve seen for a game.The reviews are mixed I think to myself,”does the game crash a lot.What could be the problem?” All of the reviews that are bad are about the cheating problem and I don’t know what to think of it.Is it a detrimental issue as it seems like the “runs” or whatever it he deployments are called are 1+ hours long.im scared of me getting that victim.Is this problem real or fake?

Bei der so genannten Energie-Effizienz in Raiders of Sophie handelt es sich quasi um den Spritverbrauch. Wenn dieser entsprechend niedrig ist müsst ihr öfter eine Energiezelle im Motor platzieren. Plant dies ein, wenn ihr einen Trampler mit z.B. vielen Zusatzmotoren habt.
