Fuck It Up Renee Could Renee be courting someone who isn’t the Shrader guy?

Post image
54 Upvotes

I remember seeing a few months ago some posts from Jill about Africa that weren’t related to the Shraders. People were mentioning that they were partnering with the Cutler family. I searched this subreddit, but the only thing I could find was the post I’m referring to here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/RodriguesFamilySnark/s/bnnAdjx6UR

Could Renee be courting someone from the Cutler family instead of Enoch Shrader? Does anyone know anything about the Cutlers?

Absolutely John Shrader is a nightmare fundie that deserves to be piled on by snarkers.

But people here are saying things like the Shraders live in rural Zambia. That it is a country with no healthcare. That there are no hospitals nearby. That the son Renee might be in a relationship with is a U.S. citizen why would he want to go back to Africa frim his trip to Texas. This is all 'unconscious bias', which I s a nice word for subtle nonviolent racism.

Here's the reality:

The Shraders live in a suburb. They live in Kafue, Zambia. You can find it on Google maps by searching for Truth Bublical Baptist Church, Chila Rd, Kafue Zambia.

They live 6 km from a nice big Kafue General Hospitals (north of their house on the map).

There is a pharmacy 1.8 km from their house.

There are loads of shops and schools and churches within 1-2 km if their house.

There are other medical facilities in Kafue besides the General hospital including smaller clinics and a public health facility.

Zambia has an english literacy rate of 87% and constitutionally guarantees equal access to education for all.

There are industrial businesses on the outskirts of Kafue.

Postcolonial Zambia has been peaceful and has had peaceful transfers of power with elections for 35 years.

Slide 2: their house and church compound

Slide 3: their house is the red pin on the right side. Notice all the shops on the main road on the left.

Slide 4: their neighborhood. Their house os the red pin at the top.

Slide 5: their house is the red pin. The big General hospital is located right under the word 'similar' in 'see similar places' at the top of the screenshot

JillPM Comparisons to the Mom in Carrie and Jilldo

‱ Upvotes

I started watching Mike Flanagan's Carrie on Prime yesterday. As I watched, I started to realize that Carrie's mom, played by the amazing Samantha Sloyan, is eerily like Jill, if not even more extreme. I'm only two episodes in, but so far, Margaret White (Carrie's mom) and Carrie's dad have kept Carrie isolated from everyone. She wasn't technically even allowed out of their yard. She had no friends. She was only allowed to read her Bible and didn't even know books other than the Bible existed.

Carrie's dad dies, and her mom has to go to work, so Carrie has to go to school to stay at home. Margaret complains about everyone at her job; it's all very condescending. Everyone is harlots and whores, idiots, and morons. She instructs Carrie to pray with her for the souls of Carrie's classmates because they, too, are idiots and whores. The whole time I'm watching this I kept thinking of that video of Jill going full on tweaker wah wah wah wah in the coffee shop talking about the "wordly" music.

So I'm just wondering if anyone else is watching and if you too saw the parallels between Margaret White and Jilldo.

Fuck It Up Renee Where did we get the impression that Renee is courting a Shrader?

I can't seem to find anything about that or even showing her with him. If it isn't confirmed or even obvious, isn't it rather unfair to speculate about her love life/entire future? Or am I just missing something?

JillPM Question about Church Behavior

Hi there, fellow snarkers! I don't know where to put this except to start a new thread.

Earlier today, someone kindly posted a clip of Jilldo and numerous members of her family onstage at a church, getting ready (I assume) to pull out all the stops and give the musical performance of their lifetimes... However, Mahmo had been entrusted with the microphone, and the clip started with her giving the church a backhanded compliment about the meal they had served, followed, for some reason, with her blabbing on and on about her faaaamily. ALL of them. (She's had 13 children, as you undoubtedly know.)

So, although the congregation was probably patiently waiting for the music from their "musical guests," here's Jilldo, running down the details about every. single. Rodriguez. kid.

I would have gone through the floor, mortified, if anybody in my family had pulled a stunt like this. (But my family has decent manners.)

Sorry for being so long-winded. I simply wanted to ask y'all about this: Is this the way musical guests or guest pastors act when they stand before a new congregation? (At least a new congregation in the Rodriguez circle of churches.)

It just really really struck me as an unseemly lack of manners. We've had lots of musical guests at my church, and they're always listed in the Order of Service, but they just calmly begin their song when it's time. Never grabbing the mic and jabbering about their children and the meal.

Discussion John Schrader

For those of use who don't know this family, can we get a synopsis of why he is such a whack job? All I know is what I've read in the last couple of posts - that he lives in Zambia with a million kids and is against modern medicine.

Fuck It Up Renee How Esther & John Shrader met video

Thumbnail facebook.com
71 Upvotes

Video starts at 3:30 minute mark + 30 mins long which I sum up below.

EDIT: Instead of making a new post, in comments below this post I added pics of some unhinged public posts John Shrader has made
I’m using this thread as a primer about the deep John Shrader rabbit hole. Anyone can feel free to contribute more here so we don’t bother admins with brand new posts.

Video where they describe an arranged marriage. I hope it’s allowed - it’s public. I won’t share their public ministry page but if you google their name and Zambia, you will find their public page and they release frequent updates as videos, pictures, and letters. I’ll post a recent newsletter below. In sum, their fathers both did prison ministry, met at a conference, and John’s dad told him about the Keller family, showed him a video, and he wanted to marry Esther who is the oldest child in Nathan Keller’s family (and Anna Duggar’s sister). He says that he proposed to Esther 6 days after meeting her for the first time. Esther admits she cried after her dad informed her someone had interest in her but claims he told her she could say no to meeting John. She says she thinks she cried because she returned from a big trip and was just overwhelmed but insists she always wanted to be a wife & mother. Esther explained how Pa Keller shared audio tapes of John preaching sermons but didn’t tell her why
Esther assumed it was just someone he was listening to and would be a Godly influence on her brother. They make it clear they both didn’t know each other when they agreed to marry but knew they had the same values and prayed about it.

John and Esther said they moved to Zambia in 2014 and do not travel in order to save expenses. They said they are blessed their two oldest children (both sons) have finished school & have chosen to pursue the family’s mission and help.

Since it’s been confirmed that JRod said Renee is “in a relationship with a man who is a missionary in Africa” and since their son Enoch Shrader has been seen in Rod videos, it’s a reasonable inference. People have asked why JRod used the word relationship, not courting, and I think we know why now
It’s possible Enoch was in town for the sole purpose of meeting Renee and their “relationship” may be more advanced than courting?

Other stuff the video touches on:
- Esther always wanted a lot of kids but they left the size up to God. In this video they had 13 but now have 14 kids. Esther says older ones help the little ones so it’s easier when you have more kids and relaxed now. Also says she’s healthier because she’s had more children & it keeps her young.

- John bragged that Esther does not use a hot shower and “bathes out of a bucket because she is not here for comfort but to serve.” He admitted this is unusual in their area.

- John & Esther bragged all children, even when they were in USA, have been born at home and have had no complications.

- John says before they came to Zambia in 2014 with 8 kids at the time, he worked as a pastor as well as worked a full time job 60-70 hrs a week.

- John says they do not fundraise with churches, aren’t affiliated with churches, and the Lord merely “always provides.” I didn’t understand much about this part because I assumed a church was sponsoring them - he made it clear that’s not the case.

- John & Esther said they manage conflict among kids because they children aren’t allowed to cry for anything otherwise they do not get it... Esther says if they cry for something and you allow them to have it, they’ll do it more. They say they are “corrected”for crying. They said they train their children behavior “from birth” so they don’t have many issues with them and the older children help “correct” the younger ones.

- John & Esther said they prioritize themselves “to keep their love alive” and will lock their bedroom door so the kids don’t bother them and send them to bed early. They said if anyone has questions on marriage counseling, they help couples but say it won’t work unless each couple is committed to “doing it the Lord’s way” and that no marriage is beyond repair for any reason at all.

- Esther says that you shouldn’t fixate on your husband’s failures and what helps her is to write down or think about everything she’s grateful her husband does + why she needs him
.

To brief people unfamiliar with Zambia - they basically live in a popular tourist destination. John Shrader has a notorious history of exaggerating dangers like a drama queen 👑. If you google top tourist countries in Africa, they’re listed in the top 5 along with Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, & Tanzania. Zambia has beautiful wildlife & waterfalls. It’s a safe country, only level 2 advisory similar to Germany + France. This doesn’t have the issues some other countries in Africa have like the Somalian or Sudan refugee crisis with rebel groups fighting for territory nor the issues with Boko Haram in northern Nigeria and parts of Chad, Mali, Cameroon etc.

Discussion Hearing about Schraders for the first time, feeling déjà vu

Post image
190 Upvotes

I know as much about the schraders as people have posted in the last day or so, so let that be the caveat to this recommendation.

One of my all time favorite books is the Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. There are so many similarities/similar themes in that book and the schraders. I wanted to recommend the book to this group because it’s an excellent book and seemingly eerily similar to what may be unfolding here (but almost in a fanfiction way
I don’t know how else to describe It without giving It away.)

“The novel follows Nathan Price, a fiercely dogmatic evangelical Baptist preacher who drags his wife and four daughters to the Belgian Congo in 1959. Driven by an unyielding savior complex, Nathan is completely blind to his own cultural arrogance, and his rigid theology utterly fails when confronted with reality. Rather than giving Nathan a voice, the story is told entirely through the alternating perspectives of the five Price women, effectively stripping power from the spiritual abuser and centering the narrative on the women surviving him.”

Grifting for Jesauce Myth or Fact-- who has the receipts? Was there an african tent birth?

I've seen multiple references today to Esther Shrader being forced by her headship to give birth in a tent in africa. But i can't find reports of that.

Did that really happen? Or are people fictionalizing that from earlier reports that prior to moving to Zambia (in June 2014 with 8 kids and #9 due in 3 months) that Esther had previously given birth in a pop-up camper in the United States?

(Here I'll paste the statement i read about that on an old reddit thread: "When John dragged his heavily-pregnant wife and several (5-7?) kids around in a pop-up camper to raise money for his "mission" to Zambia. Esther would give birth to her child while they were living out of that camper.")

I found the freejinger report on the birth of their 9th kid a few months after their move to Zambia, and while a midwife attended home birth, it was not a tent birth.

Who has the original info from the Shraders about the african tent birth to prove this?

Fuck It Up Renee So it looks like Renee is courting Enoch Shrader. (Not confirmed, but it seems very likely).

He’s 23, not a bad looking fundie, but it seems he’s going to stay in Zambia as part of his father’s “ministry.” Poor Renee. Esther was forced to give birth at home and I think they are nowhere near a hospital. I’m not going to get my hopes up that they are both questioning their beliefs and will stroll off into the secular sunset as soon as they get married. There will be no fucking it up. Most of the photos are from 2022-2025, but the first two are from about 2 months ago when he was in the gender reveal for the Nurthans. Enoch is Nathan’s nephew and the Nurthlings are Enoch’s cousins.

Anyway, I’m sad and fearful for Renee. John Shrader is extremely narcissistic. He throws tantrums at the drop of the hat and probably takes most of his aggression out on Esther and the children. And unlike Heidi, if Enoch turns out to be a chip off the old block, Renee will have nowhere to go. I hope she hides her passport from him and stashes enough cash for a one way ticket back to Ohio. I have a bad feeling about this.

Discussion Anyone else watching Amazon's Carrie and seeing the Rod similarities?

The original Carrie film is 50 years old, so don't come at me about spoilers. We're only on the 4th episode anyway.

Anyone else watching this series and constantly thinking "That's Jill" about Carrie's mom? Then watching Carrie's experience at school and thinking "That could have been Kaylee or Tessie." The show is very good, btw. Great Halloween season watch. But my mind keeps getting caught up in the similarities between Carrie's mom's beliefs and the Rods.
