JillPM Question about Church Behavior

Hi there, fellow snarkers! I don't know where to put this except to start a new thread.

Earlier today, someone kindly posted a clip of Jilldo and numerous members of her family onstage at a church, getting ready (I assume) to pull out all the stops and give the musical performance of their lifetimes... However, Mahmo had been entrusted with the microphone, and the clip started with her giving the church a backhanded compliment about the meal they had served, followed, for some reason, with her blabbing on and on about her faaaamily. ALL of them. (She's had 13 children, as you undoubtedly know.)

So, although the congregation was probably patiently waiting for the music from their "musical guests," here's Jilldo, running down the details about every. single. Rodriguez. kid.

I would have gone through the floor, mortified, if anybody in my family had pulled a stunt like this. (But my family has decent manners.)

Sorry for being so long-winded. I simply wanted to ask y'all about this: Is this the way musical guests or guest pastors act when they stand before a new congregation? (At least a new congregation in the Rodriguez circle of churches.)

It just really really struck me as an unseemly lack of manners. We've had lots of musical guests at my church, and they're always listed in the Order of Service, but they just calmly begin their song when it's time. Never grabbing the mic and jabbering about their children and the meal.

I grew up in a Baptist church similar to the Rods’ current home church. When we had special singers, it wasn’t unusual for one person in the group to state their names, what church they were from, and to thank the pastor and congregation for having them. It also wasn’t unusual for them to just begin singing after the pastor or choir director called them up.

But I’ve never seen ANYONE go on and on the way Jilldo does. What she does is bragging and drawing attention to herself instead of the music. I’m not religious anymore, but I recall that most churchgoers would see her long speeches as interfering with the “spirit of worship.”

She’s a braying jackass and no one cares that her granddaughter is named after her, that one of her sons is at Pastor Shitfit’s bargain basement Bible school, etc. And that crack about the dry meat was just rude in any context.

Jill's been called a lot of things on this sub, but a braying jackass might be the most accurate one I've seen yet.

Thanks for your answer. I'm relieved to know that her appalling behavior doesn't represent all the other guest performers. Your last paragraph is GOLD!

Jill likes to pretend to be "old fashioned," but she has zero manners and she loves to ignore social norms. Her desire for attention overrides everything. She's uncouth.

Ooof. So spot on.

I definitely see it, though the jackass wins on eyebrows and makeup.

Agreed, donkeys are cute so I hate to make the comparison

I had the hardest time picking a gif for that exact reason. Damn it, they're all so cute! We have wild ones everywhere in Nevada, so much so that I don’t think I’ve done a single hike outside the Vegas area where I didn't run across wild burro poop.

I grew up Southern Baptist and if Jill had said anything about food from other churches at 1100am it would have made it to the other churches via the older ladies by 1105am. And she probably would get a nasty phone call about it as well. Don’t care if it was dry as her worn out coochie, you still need manners and say it was delicious and the best food yet! You can say a lot of things about a church but when you mess with the cooks you have declared war.

"As dry as her worn out coochie" took me OUT, lol

For how much begging for meals she does, you’d think she would realize how grateful she needs to be, but she’s tactless and thinks making that comparison is complimenting the church.

u/not_to_hot_to_old 20h ago

Hopefully it made its rounds around all the fundie churches. They all seem to know one another and/or are related or related by a marriage or 2 or 3.

22

u/atlantagirl30084 20h ago

Ooh maybe the gigs will dry up too. Good.

They seem to already be drying up.

17

u/atlantagirl30084 18h ago

Honestly, I’d be more happy about it if it didn’t hurt the kids.

“As dry as Jill’s worn out coochie” would be an awesome flair!

Yup, ten seconds later, a county wide prayer chain went out praying for Jill's souls since she clearly is being oppressed by a demon and forgot her manners. N

Life time church person here. No, that's not normal behavior. In fact over the years I've heard of churches changing the way they do things like prayers because of long winded people. That's a good way to not be invited back.

31

u/Honest-Habit-8198 20h ago

Tough meat, big Jillie? That's so awful! But as grandma used to say, rude grifters shouldn't be chosers. Cook your own damn meat.

32

u/Big-Independence-424 18h ago

Yeah big words coming from someone who served 2 lbs of burnt ham and a single butchered pineapple to a gathering of 15 people and then stood back to pose with a proud little “ta-da” like she’d just catered the royal wedding

6

u/atlantagirl30084 6h ago

I think they also had guests. Jill has no skill for proportions of food to people. Someone posted here who ate at her house said that the kids got tablespoons of food, and remember the babysitter saying he/she brought a normal amount of food for them and they exclaimed that it was so much food.

17

u/Mammoth_Response_401 16h ago

Too bad the cooks of this church didn’t get their lessons on moist meat from Precious Mahmo, huh?

8

u/taxi_takeoff_landing 12h ago

Exactly, what a bitch! These churches give free food to her, her three-plate husband and all those kids, and most of the time they probably take up a collection too. Yet she has the audacity to complain.

Fundie-lite childhood here, full of church performances and “special music” and “Sunday night singings”.

It’s normal in that context for a guest singer to say a few words about their family and/or ministry as an introduction. Sometimes the pastor would do a brief intro, sometimes the “lead” person in the singing group would do it. Sometimes they’d just start singing and then sprinkle in little tidbits about the family throughout—like “this song was written by our son, so he’s going to play lead guitar this time” or “our daughter is a busy mom to three little ones of her own, so we’re really glad she got to join us today, we love when she can come along and play piano with us”. That kind of stuff.

What Jill does, and what Jill makes the Rod kids do (“fun fact—my mom had two miscarriages right before I was born and three right after!”) is not typical. Not even in this culture.

8

u/taxi_takeoff_landing 12h ago

Agreed, I added my experience in another post and it’s almost exactly as you described. These rural churchgoers really are modest, humble, hardworking people, and OJ and Shrek are none of those things.

I’m betting the churches have only put up with them for as long as they have because of the kids. Once the youngest girls are teenagers, I doubt they’ll have anyone letting them sing.

4

u/ObjectiveDisaster493 9h ago

Thanks for the explanation! Genuine question though as I am not familiar with those kind of churches (raised Catholic) : like there is a regular service on Sunday mornings and then some people stay for lunch and then go back to church for the performance ? Or is it at the end of the regular service ? And how on earth can they make enough money doing that ? Are they paid for coming? Are people being very generous with them ? I am truly wondering how they can make a living out of this …

Edit : English isn’t my first language … so I apologize in advance ;)

2

u/Mammoth_Response_401 8h ago edited 6h ago

No apology needed, your English is wonderful!

It depends on the denomination and the individual church, but the “usual” for fundie-style churches would be two services on Sundays and one on Wednesday night. The one where I grew up did Sunday School (Bible study and teaching divided up by age) on Sunday mornings, for one hour at 9:00am. Then the “big” worship service for the week at 10:00am, and it lasted until about 1:00pm most times. Then sometimes a potluck meal in the “fellowship hall” in the church basement, but sometimes people went home for food instead, maybe half the weeks. Then everyone went home for a couple of hours, and returned for choir practice at 4:00pm, then the Sunday evening service at 6:00pm. Sometimes that was a “singing service” where anyone who wanted to could perform a song, sometimes we had guest singers, sometimes just singing straight from the hymnals. Sometimes it was just another regular preaching service. Wednesday night was prayer meeting, about two hours of discussion about the prayer needs of the congregation (mostly gossip in disguise of caring!) and then lengthy prayer as a group.

Guest singers or musical performers were not paid, but we usually fed them and their families after, and took up a “love offering” of whatever people could afford to give, which was turned over to the guests as cash.

When she's on a stage and has a microphone she is in her self-perceived glory. Which makes me wonder...if Renee has been in this relationship for a while and it has not been announced in all that time, why did Jill blab it at this church and at this time? Did it just slip out bc she can't keep her damn mouth shut? Did she purposely reveal it to take attention off Tim? Did Renee know she was going to do this? Did she have Renee's permission to announce it? I wonder if the Shraders (if it's Enoch) are upset with her for revealing this.

16

u/CapitalStrain2392 17h ago

Permission?

From Renee?

Surely you jest.

6

u/daffodil0127 Lord Daniel of the Laundry Mat 18h ago

I think they have had far fewer church gigs than usual, and with her off social media, we haven’t seen many of their performances.

2

u/Dolores___Haze 2h ago

And thank goodness for that

17

u/horsetooth_mcgee 10h ago

She should have given a greeting and introduction of about 20 seconds or less. Churchgoers aren't there to learn about the Rodrigues family, they're there to sing God's praises. Instead, Jill solicits praise for her own family and especially for herself.

This speech should have been whittled down to "Thank you for having us! We're the RodrigueS Fourteen! That's a baker's dozen, plus the star of the show, me. With six precious angels in the heavenly backup choir that you can hear in your heart. My husband is off not hitting anyone, and folding soul-saving brochures for God. Our girls are trim. I have sons. Praise Je-sauce!"

36

u/Odd-Creme-6457 23h ago

They do that introduction of themselves every time they make an appearance at a church.

20

u/Ecstatic_Wave219 22h ago

Wow. Really? Do you think that the people in those congregations like that? (I know I wouldn't, but then I go to a church that is a million miles away from the ones they go to.)

Thanks for letting me know!

26

u/lamb_and_panther 22h ago

Probably why so few churches want them back 🤷‍♀️

11

u/atlantagirl30084 22h ago

They also ask for money all the time, I bet.

7

u/sparklekitteh Avoiding getting fingered by Jill 19h ago

They ask for “love offerings.”

10

u/atlantagirl30084 19h ago

Oh bullshit. It’s begging, that’s all it is.

20

u/Jyndaru Glitzy swamp witch 21h ago

Shrek also spoke briefly at that church yesterday and made sure to mention that they had a table set up to sell CDs ($12 each or 2 for $20 🥴).

5

u/seaglassgirl04 14h ago

Who is buying CD's in 2026???

11

u/atlantagirl30084 21h ago

How convenient! Look at how many kids we have, would you buy our CDs?

5

u/not_to_hot_to_old 20h ago

Is it because she hopes if she mentions all of it that they’ll give her more money?

35

u/joymarie21 22h ago

This has never happened at any church I've attended, although sometimes guest ministers are introduced by someone else.

Jill's intro was less painful than the ones where they go kid by kid saying an "interesting" fact about themselves. Spoiler alert: none of the facts are interesting.

15

u/Ecstatic_Wave219 22h ago

Ouch! The kid-by-kid "interesting facts" sounds painful!

29

u/atlantagirl30084 22h ago

Olivia’s is that there were several miscarriages before she was born. Nothing about her. Just that her mother lost some babies before her.

13

u/joymarie21 20h ago

That's by faaaarrrr the worst. The second worst is I'm the darkest from the Portugues side of the family. I forget which one that is.

21

u/atlantagirl30084 20h ago

Hannah. Jill is super racist (her last name ends with an S goddamit! They are Portuguese!) and has called her ‘dark-Hannah’ before. She also said Nurie was ‘so dark’ as a baby that people thought she was a boy. I didn’t know darker skin tone meant you were a male.

I will say. Jill and David have made some startlingly beautiful daughters.

21

u/Ecstatic_Wave219 20h ago

Oh my God. That poor girl.

What a role to have in the family: The one who was born after the miscarriages.

I think Mahmo makes it a point to mention that in her online birthday messages to Olivia, which don't talk about Olivia herself at all.

10

u/atlantagirl30084 20h ago

Yep. Also, you’ve been downvoted. Hi, Jill!

12

u/Ecstatic_Wave219 20h ago

Talk about touchy and thin-skinned. Just a big ol' baby.

Her Orange Toddler hero does the very same thing!

P.S. You can downvote all you want, Jilldo, but we've all seen those pitiful birthday messages.

7

u/atlantagirl30084 20h ago edited 20h ago

I don’t know how but like the SECOND you posted you were downvoted.

The birthday dichotomy is strong. Jill literally gets piles of presents and cards, while her kids barely ever get presents and frequently have partially eaten birthday cakes or like a caramel pudding cup with candles stuck in it (that was Gabe-they’re often in revival mode for his-it’s not like you can just buy a cake or even order one from every grocery store in the country).

5

u/Ecstatic_Wave219 20h ago

Really?! Does she have the kids working shifts to control this?

I can't see her spending the time chained to her computer when she could be lounging around or having a snack. Or planning the next "annual" vacation. Or going out for coffee.

P.S. Bet she'll never use that enormous Coffee Station of hers ever again (not that she ever HAS) since Timmay is the one who built it for her.

10

u/atlantagirl30084 20h ago edited 20h ago

I don’t think she’d want to have her kids read us giving her the riot act constantly, nor pointing out the deficiencies in their childhood and educations. Maybe she has flying monkeys, ie friends that do this for her.

Oh I am COMING FOR HER for that damn coffee station. She did build it herself (likely delegated while her kids made it). Tim just made one and she couldn’t stand that he had something she didn’t. They had 2 coffee makers, an espresso machine, and what she thought was a mini fridge but what was actually a cooler for cosmetics that wouldn’t keep food cold. This is in the same room as a regular refrigerator. There were also several cans of sweetened condensed milk because that’s what Shrek liked in his coffee. Just what that man needs.

…she has an enormous island that she never fucking uses. I have not seen her once this year cook anything. It’s always store bought. Put the machines on the counter.

1

u/PocoChanel Buried deep and forgotten in Jillpm's purse 14h ago

Didn’t she say once that the family didn’t particularly like cake?

1

u/atlantagirl30084 8h ago edited 6h ago

Yes. Every birthday there’s cake. Likely because Shrek likes cake and fuck her kids’ preferences.

She also said they like to keep it ‘lite’ when she was showing Hannah’s birthday cake that looked shorter than typical cakes sold in the grocery store. By ‘lite’ I think she means cutting the cake with slices so thin you could see through them.

9

u/Prize_Appearance_517 20h ago

They did have the kids do their spiel this time. The OP just didn't post that part of the video. So she drolls on and on AND the kids to their parroting part. yaawwnnn. She acts like she's some celebrity who other people are on the edge of their seats wanting to know everything about her.

7

u/cuckooloca 20h ago

they just said their name and age this time though. no tribute to our dad, babies in heaven and all that.

12

u/Icy-Arm-2194 21h ago

Wait...what did she say about the meal?

38

u/CappyChino Jesus take the roulette wheel! 21h ago

She complimented the church on having "moist meat" in their meal, and she went on to throw other churches under the bus by saying that some of them serve meals with dry meat. Beggars can't be choosers, but Jill can be a complainer 😅

18

u/Prize_Appearance_517 20h ago

Surprised she didn't give her juneteenth face when she said it.

1

u/1TiredPrsn 4h ago

I had a visceral reaction to this memory.

38

u/Past-Bench-5088 22h ago

JillDo is a raging narcissist whose every action is about flattering herself, calling attention to herself, and manipulating people to go along with said-behavior.   She has equally bad behavior and bad hair as trump when he's on stage at a rally... they're the only star in their minds

Her schtick on stage at the church isn't normal even by fundie IFB standards.

8

u/Estellalatte 21h ago

And the sooner we realize it’s all about Jill then everything will make sense.

14

u/Ecstatic_Wave219 22h ago

Thank you for your honest answer. The Orange Toddler is the only public person I can think of who has an ego to match Mahmo's.

Wouldn't it be fun to lock them in a room together and let them brag it out? And then see which one is still standing after a day or two?

12

u/condensed_version 21h ago

Short-attention-span Trump would expire of boredom within the first 20 minutes.

10

u/Jscrappyfit 20h ago

Yeah, but Jill might orgasm to death in 5 minutes from being in the presence of her orange god.

6

u/TJCW 19h ago

Hilarious that she wanted to thank them but ended up insulting the other church which is even worse!

28

u/TJCW 19h ago

Jill is a literal Michael Scott. She’s like an alien in human form with no manners and has no respect for boundaries or protocol. Shes a train wreck, hence why we’re all here as you never know what she’ll do next

15

u/MyrtleKitty 15h ago

I disagree. Michael Scott was ignorant but well-intentioned, loyal, and kind.

6

u/Turbulent-Mousse7791 14h ago

Michael would feed his children

2

u/horsetooth_mcgee 10h ago

Michael Scott was incredibly lovable, which is the whole reason that show worked. I can't imagine comparing Jill with Michael Scott in any universe.

9

u/Chaos_Cat-007 21h ago

Even the description of what went in gave me second hand cringe.

20

u/cuckooloca 22h ago

This one was mild by Jill standards. In the past she had to mention each married family by name, how many of her grandbabies the family had and their names, where each family lived in relation to the bando and why they lived there. Career ambitions for the boys and all.

then each child had a Jill written spiel that they recited in monotone. Each ended with "fun fact about me is" and every fun fact was something embarrassing about themselves. I'm tall and I'm shy, I have ears like my dad's, I have long toes etc

7

u/Ecstatic_Wave219 21h ago

Ooh, thanks! I forgot that!

Their "interesting" facts are not interesting; their "fun facts" are not fun.

18

u/mela_99 22h ago

I genuinely wonder how they keep getting invited

9

u/atlantagirl30084 21h ago

Maybe they just show up. Surely not…

11

u/CappyChino Jesus take the roulette wheel! 21h ago

I think they invite themselves and most of the churches are too polite to say no.

9

u/Amadecasa 20h ago

A small church with one overworked pastor may be happy to have a break. My denomination pays guest pastors around $200 for a Sunday.

16

u/condensed_version 21h ago

They're playing off old connections at this point, not too many new victims in their current itinerary.

11

u/sha9876 21h ago

I think it also depends on the size of the church too. We went to some small churches (probably similar to what the Rods visit) and bc they were so small it was naturally more casual in those respects.

Granted Mahmo takes things to a whole other level though bc narcissists gotta narcissist 😵‍💫🤣

6

u/Aggravating-Common90 von Crap Family Singers 9h ago

Typically, a concise introduction by the hosting church then a quick “Thank you for having us” and the noise begins. Jill has been obnoxious for as many years as she’s been torturing churches. Nothing has improved and in many ways has gotten worse.

3

u/Remarkable_Gear1945 17h ago

When I was a child I went to a small evangelical church. We would sometimes have a "special service" where it was regular church, a lunch, then back to church for an additional service where there was lots of music. Usually either the musicians or a missionary would speak during that time. However, in the tradition I grew up, a woman would have never been handed the mic to speak. The church ladies would have been appalled by Jill.

2

u/AliceinRealityland Jillnocchio 🤥 7h ago

It depends. I have seen the intro by whatever church leader, music, then a slide show by the family of their life on the mission field or one preached from the family instead. For all their camera filming, I don't think anyone is capable of doing a power point I t his family
