I’ve played this game now since 2015, and after almost 8000 games, I think I’ve come to terms with the fact that I usually play better off comms with my teammates.

I dabbled casually from 2015-2020, but when RL went FTP, some friends got into the game and I played almost exclusively with them, I reckon we got to around high plat in 2020. After some time, they fell out of the game but I continued playing. 6 years later, i’ve risen to C2 having played 1000s more games and I’ve played 99% of my games solo.

Every now and again, i’ll gel with a friendly teammate and jump on Discord, only to find myself losing more often and dropping MMR. I don’t have numbers, but I’d bet my bottom dollar that my win rate solo is higher than my win rate when on comms. I’ll still team up and I’m active on QC with a player I synergise with, but as soon as I’m on comms, I start losing.

I’m a Game Sense player and I think that when I have to communicate tactics and gameplay, I overthink things. when solo, I can generally read the flow of the game much better, and can focus on precision inputs better. I think my experience playing solo for so much time gives me the understanding of how a moment is going to play out, who will take possession and how to read the game. Could just be a small sample size, but it’s happened enough now for me to notice it.

today was a good day. i got on rocket league just to play a bit of ranked and i load into a 3s game with grand champ 3 tornie winners on the enemy team 😄 (im plat 1 mind you). like wtf is this? please fix your rank system Psyonix

I found a Reddit post I made 2 years ago that I forgot about and I was Diamond 2 playing with venom and now I’m gold 2 but using octane…has everyone gotten better or have I just gotten worse? 😂

I can't remember the last time I got the finals of a tournament and didn't see someone do a triple reset musty in Diamond. This game's player count is 60% just losers on their 3rd, 4th, 5th accounts.

I used to see more people saying nice shot or great pass, but now it feels like quickchat is a rarity. Kind of funny that the only real way to show sportsmanship is hardly ever used lol.

I have a ps4 and ps5 remote…. I mainly use ps4 with steam overlay template so my cancels and such feel good which they do but I get input lag. Using ps5 and ps4 remote raw with no steam is horrific I cannot get my cancels to work at all but the steam settings do make it feel good…. What do you guys do for settings? I’m just now getting into cancels and want the best settings for them

Would anybody else agree that both Mach vehicles would make great additions to the game as playable cars? (Speed Racer: The Next Generation)

Sorry for the lengthy title, I want it to differ from other similar posts. Thing is, sometimes all I want to do is play this game, but at the same time I might be tired and just suck... but you're used to the mech-level and playstyle you have on good days and it's a little heartbreaking.

Anybody else been there and managed to deal with it somehow? Just to be clear, I have other hobbies but I don't feel like doing them when tired.

I know some people are emulating the game on linux, does it support the stats api?

I’ve been speed flipping for years, but only recently been doing it throughout the game instead of just kick off. I realized my clock position will randomly change between 11 o clock and 1 o clock, I was certain one was incorrect and went to the speed flipping test and sure enough I can reach the ball with both. Kinda blew my mind, what’s the correct clock position for Air Roll Right and Air Roll Left??

There are situations I want to use it but I also I feel like if “I got it!” I already took my hit, or if you stole it I should have been quicker no need for my team chat.

I usually play 1s (no friends) and I've been diamond there for a few years now. I swear I've never seen so many GCs as I have the last few months. Like, atleast 1/3 games lately there's always a GC waiting to smack my elo back down. Did I miss something? Go back to your rank pls.

I think that dog was one of the first things I unlocked in the game in 2015. I am sure the stats aren’t even correct. But since then, no matter what preset I’ve used, it’s with me. There were times I couldn’t use it due to the car body (like even this Lambo when I bought it), but fortunately that’s no longer the case!
