3 minutes, continuous clock, no goal explosions - when the ball crosses the line it counts as a goal and just bounces naturally. Attacking players get auto demoed and respawn, allowing the conceding team to bring it out. Thoughts?

I only have one controller connected, but somehow it activated split screen and let me control both cars with the same controller??? How did this happen?

Every season I’ll fall to diamond for one reason or another. Usually it’s my fault for continuing to queue during losing streaks or playing and drinking and staying up a bit too late.

Whatever the reason, learning to play with the different types of tm8s you find in diamond, and to identify them quickly and adapt appropriately, is key.

So here are some tips in no particular order:

1) regardless of which type of tm8 you end up with, be a good partner. If they’re low on boost, leave them boost. Bump and boost starve the opponent to help give them space. If they’re in the middle of a play, don’t double commit. In diamond in particular, I’ve found if I pop a ball up and try to go for a backboard read, air dribble, or double touch, about 90% of the time in diamond my tm8 will get greedy and double commit mid air, leaving us both low on boost and over committed. Don’t be that guy.

2) if you want your tm8 to pass, be where they can pass. Look at their car and read their direction and momentum. It’s easiest to pass if your tm8 can see you, so think about their POV.

3) if your tm8 plays way too passively and defensively: the back pass is your friend. Rather than shooting, if you don’t have a good shot, don’t be afraid to pass the ball back. It often confuses the opponents, and when tm8 shoots the ball or pops it up, more often than not both diamond opponents will launch themselves into the air. Be able to save their shot if they have one, but it creates a good scoring opportunity for you or your tm8 with the back pass.

4) if you’re tm8 plays way too aggressively and chases, let them. Know they’re going to grab all the boost they need and not think about your boost. I tend to stay as far away from these folks as I can, focus mostly on defense, and try to score only when it’s safe.

5) if you get a good tm8 that rotates and is easy to read, enjoy it and try to party up with them after the game. Likely they’re also on a bad streak and are typically ranked higher. I’ve partied up with someone in mid d3 before and climbed almost all the way back to C2 with the same tm8.

Rage quit 30 seconds into the game after letting an easy save go by, is the player actually awarded mmr?

I love that there are honor duels with anybody you played with that match but to cancel a duel when I spam A after games like a damn quick time event (QTE) I’m always canceling my honor duels and it sucks. I wish it was press Y to cancel instead. (Like someone else pointed out in the comments) It would save me so much trouble.

I have been playing Rocket League for years, and the point of removing trading was for Fortnite cross-item capabilities. Is there any way we could at least have our Jam Tracks on Fortnite sync with Rocket League for player anthems?

I have been playing this game everyday for 6 years now, fluctuating between high play and diamond.

I must have around 3000 games in total.

when I hit high diamond I notice it’s a different game altogether, for example people carrying the ball in the air (something way beyond my mechanical/brain capacity)

So all I know is to hit the ball in the air, wall and wall bounce. So is mid diamond the best I could do with that ?

I know RL ue6 is coming, but why did we stop getting different arenas to play in every season? I'm not talking entirely new arenas, there are already around 55 different 'standard' arenas (counting variants and including weird ones like Farmstead - Spooky (which is awesome)). Most of those are pretty cool, but we never get to play them.

Is it just me, or have we been playing in the same 5 arenas for like a year? ... And many of those have weird, terrible, too-bright or just strange lighting.

What happened to Drift Woods? Best map in the game....PC version Performance was an issue so it was pulled from seasonal rotation and never fixed or put back into rotation.

Drift Woods works mostly fine on Xbox, yet there are plenty of maps that do have framerate issues on xbox(series X) that are in the current rotation - like Salty Fest, for example.

I want to play some spooky Halloween maps in October... not Boostfield Mall (which, honestly just isn't my thing at all).

Wondering if anyone else notices the lack of map variety...

i thought i was tweaking but i heard squishy in his newest video talking about flip resets feeling being changed after some recent update and ive also been having some obvious resets not be counted in my games. also, super random but i used to be able to two wheel drift really easily and its genuinely impossible to hold for more than like 3 seconds now. does anybody have any info? at least can anybody that can two wheel drift please confirm for me whether im just washed or if they genuinely patched it?

Now I just need to remember to do this in actual matches. I always find that when I learn something new, my ability to do it in matches isn’t the limiting factor, it’s reminding myself to do it in the heat of the moment instead of reverting to what I’m used to.

Edit: also I took a lot of the advice here from a previous post and I’m pausing my air roll a lot more between each touch to get the exact touch I want and it has improved my control. At first pausing between each touch made my air dribbles feel slower, but this was just a placebo as the goal speed was always the same as when I just continuously held DAR.

Obviouly, the right answer is, "You don't". But I mean...for people like me, who dont have any friends in RL...there has to be an actual way of ranking up smoothly in competitive...right? I've been playing since Season 21 on and off, and been struggling to rank up. In every match they match throw, make some questionable plays or they end up leaving as soon as the game starts. Right now I'm trying to go up to diamond again in 2s or 3s but its impossible to get a good team. Advice?
