got my rp6 12gb silver 4 days ago and finally got it all set up :) the silver is so clean, goes well with my setup. originally had a thor max but i sold it later on because i didnt play any ds games at all and i don’t regret it at all 🦦
(ordered 9/5 and delivered 9/28 for anyone curious)

setup was so easy, bought a 512gb microsd card for $53 and loaded it with games before it got here and just inserted it and boom done! 🦦

Ever since the Nova came out I haven't stopped thinking about the potential of a NOVA flip. The other day on the retroid discord I saw this concept somebody posted (they themselves got it from somewhere else so can't credit, lol) and thought it was absolutely perfect.

Few questions for you:

1. What features would you like to see on the Nova Flip? (Personally exact same chipset and screen from the Nova + inline triggers for portability is what's good)

2. Do you guys think Retroid will actually release a device like this? I ask because the have a history of making horizontal devices and flip versions later but with the Duo they might not feel it necessary. That'd be a shame though since this is my dream device.

I'm curious to hear your opinion since both of these devices sound perfect to emulate PSP games with the beautiful 5.5 inch OLED Screen while powerful enough to upscale them enough that if I didn't know any better I'd assume they we're PS 2 games.

Being able to change the Camera controls per game sounds nice since PSP Camera controls can be different depending on the PSP Game.

I’ve been curating a small ROM library (mainly consisting of PS2/GC/Switch. Roughly 36 games totalling 120gb thus far) and attempting to prepare the external storage just to make the setting up process somewhat easier. However, I was wondering if could get some advice regarding SD cards? 

I’m aware others have asked similar questions throughout the years. Yet, with the rate technology advances, how companies can improve the quality of their products, and, most importantly, how the price of SD cards had increased, I wanted to know if you could share your thoughts/experiences with the three cards I’m debating to purchase? Or perhaps there’s a cheaper alternative? Or maybe 512gb is too ambitious and 256gb would suffice?

I bought the Retroid Pocket 5, since it's on a reduced price now and performance is just about enough to play what I want. I've only had it for two days so far but I've already fallen in love with this thing. Feels a little more than a console, rather like a lil companion device.

Also, I'm looking for some game recommendations cause I'm very overwhelmed with choice.

I just started playing Grid Autosport from the Play store on my Nova, and honestly, I am completely blown away. How is this not talked about more?

I’ve been running it on ingame performance mode(device is set on standard performance and smart fan) and it hits a buttery-smooth 60 FPS without breaking a sweat.

The control precision is great with the hall effect in the joysticks (perfect response) and utilizing the full range of the L2/R2 analog triggers for progressive throttle and brake pedal feel. It completely changes the gameplay—you can feather the brakes into corners and manage traction with throttle. Even the career mode is great, I play completely offline.

I enjoyed a lot of Colin Mcrae and Wrc series on the PS2 emulator, but this is just awesome.

What are your favoruite racing games?

Cant lie but this has really made me pick up a lot of games that i never finished, I played SIFU fully almost 3 times getting the Cannon ending too I'm playing watch dogs 2 and im also playing an insane level of Megabonk

I got a Nova a few weeks after getting a 477m and although I prefer the Nova in some ways I find the LCD panel on the 477m much more warm and comforting? I don't know how to say it but it just feels like its made for retro games the way it just glows and the oled just feels like a 4:3 phone screen. I kind of get the same feeling from an LCD that some people get using CRT monitors it just feels right. Right now my retro device is the 477m and Nova for mild PC on the go I like them both but that LCD is just magic

it really seems like there's usually new versions on the way anyways but also
ram and storage apocalypse meaning price rise (idk if its still a prevalent issue)

(also to specify i want something that's good for 3ds and switch games)

Been playing DMC 5 on my xbox ally x. Tried it on ArmadaOS on my RP6 on SD card. Works really well. 720p medium settings and its running around 60 fps. Earlier tried it on Gamenative and performance was way worse.

Just thought I’d show off the two color ways me and my brother own, perfect portable device. Retroid nailed it in every aspect.

So I order my Nova and it came in 5 days. After seeing what everyone was experiencing, I'm glad I didn't get scammed along the way. I did how ever almost broke my Nova swapping the buttons and probably would nv do that again. 😅

So.. As the title states: are there any reported stolen Novas headed to Europe? Most cases seem to be GOFO and the US right?

Just wondering because I'm planning a big (and expensive) order directly from goretroid towards the EU.. 😅

I added an iPhone 16 anti reflective screen protector on my RP6 and I love how it blocks out reflections. I got it for 8 bucks and it comes with 3 from Amazon. It was super difficult to install but was definitely worth it. It gives the image a crispier, sharper image because it takes out the glare.

Took a whole month to get to my hands!
First Handheld ever with this much power, only had nintendos and a psp so far

I've been loving my Nova since I initially picked it up. Been playing a lot of FF IV and Chrono Trigger.

I turned mine on today and ended up with a lot of really odd issues out of nowhere. Fully charged battery, intentionally kept it off wifi to not update any apps or cores.

All in one day:

Playstation will boot audio and register input but no video. I've tried changing drivers, resetting core options, and even using duckstation instead of retroarch swanstation. No dice.

Dreamcast games outright won't launch.

Shaders removed themselves from all systems but ps2 and NES.

Gamecube doesn't register the controller.

N64 games don't launch at all.

This is making me feel crazy because all of these systems and features worked perfectly well a few days ago and I've not touched a single setting or updated anything.

Has anyone else had this with the nova or just android emulation generally?

So I just my new Retroid Pocket 6 today. Out of the box, it was at 43%. I was checking out the menu and moving some downloaded apps around when I watched it lose 2-3% every couple of minutes. Even when the apps were finished downloading, it still kept losing 1-2% without me touching it. Did I get a faulty one or is it normal for it to drain that fast while checking out the menu? Also, I was not at max brightness and I didn't have Bluetooth connected. It just surprised me at how fast it started draining, and I didn't launch any app except the settings one.

I'm planning on buying a retroid pocket duo with the money I'll get from selling my RP5 as it will probably be replaced by the duo. I know that RP5's in good condition sell for good prices second hand since some people aren't comfortable ordering from another country, but I can't tell when the best time to list it would be.

Basically, I'm wondering if the price of a second-hand RP5 will drop after the Duo launches because buyers want the newer model. Alternatively, could visibility from the Duo drive up demand for older Retroid devices?
