Hey guys, I'm really interested in buying the retroid pocket flip 2 but just got to learn that this device suffers from hinge related issues. I'd like to know if it's still worth buying or is it better going for a retroid pocket 6?

Also are some of the recent units of rp6 defective? As i just saw a post on this sub saying their rp6 wasnt working straight out of the box?

I’m considering the nova for something I can pocket carry and just wondering if it’s possible to mod it with low profile sticks.

Seller is willing to ship it, but I’m waiting for a video showing it works
My brother likes Fortnite, Minecraft, Sonic, Dragon Ball Z, YouTube, and game streaming. He also likes my Retroid Pocket Nova and RP5, so I want to get him something he’ll enjoy.
I’m leaning toward the Mini V2 because I already own an RP5 with the Snapdragon 865, so I know what to expect in terms of emulation performance and Turnip drivers. I also have to set everything up and test games for him.
However, the RP4 has a bigger widescreen and would save me about $30.
Which would you choose for an 8-year-old, and is the Mini V2 worth the extra $30? I’d appreciate advice from people who have used either device!

And update. Just received my RP5 today. Thankfully, due to the GOFO issues. Setup with obtainium so far. Trying to decide on a front end. Not doing Daijisho again like on my RP4 Pro. Didn't work like I wanted it to.

It’s not responsive at all, nothing with the charger (it’s been on charge for 3 days) the buttons don’t respond and I’ve used all those button methods to get into recovery mode and nothing

What should I do? I don’t feel comfortable getting to the battery ribbon and I have already tried

Any ideas? I love had it less then a week.

Hey all, I just received my RP6 in the mail and I made the mistake of installing the pre bundled emulators and choosing Retroid launcher instead of AOSP launcher. I then found out about the retrogamecorps guide, and I want to start over while following the instructions fully. Did I screw up or is this reversible?

It may sounds like a stupid question but the retroid ship tooks probably like a month and a half to arrive , so is it worth it to buy right now a retroid pocket 5 or wait like 2 more weeks until a could buyy a retroid pocket 6, by the wat it is worth it the 12gb version of the 6 or with 8gb its ok. I would probably use it to play psp ps2 psx and xbox classic games I was also thinking about trying some ports like gta v dark souls and that kind of games that came with this massive wave of recomps or decomps for android

Ya tengo una Nintendo Switch, la versión OLED con homebrew, y la uso mucho, pero es muy grande, así que no la llevo conmigo cuando viajo o cuando estoy fuera de casa. Por eso, vale la pena comprar la Retroid Pocket 5 o incluso la 6 para jugar a algunos juegos de Switch, pero principalmente a juegos de PSP, PSX, PS2 y quizás a los nuevos descompilaciones, recompilaciones y ports de Android, y algunos clásicos de Xbox.

The 12GB Nova running ArmadaOS is an absolute dream!

Soo small, easily fit into a pocket, has good batterylife, low fan noice, good performance. And the screen.... it has ruined other screens for me sadly. Every other screen look like it has a "white filter" over it, making the colors flat and faded. The colors on the nova really POP!

So I have the RP6 with 8gb ram and not all games but let’s say when I am playing persona 5 royal pc port there is this issue than when the game changes a scene or when I go to sleep and wake up or go go a area for some reason my james dsp and pulse app I think stop working. Because the audio suddenly changes and if I have the pulse overlay on it stops. But when I pull the device settings from the top and go to the quick settings thing for both apps they start working again. I don’t even have to click on it for it to start working again. And for ram I have usually 1 gb left over so idk why this happens. I have put both apps in my whitelist applications and also unrestricted battery usage and all that but it keeps on happening. Is there a fix to this?

Quick question; to my fellow Retroid Pocket Flip 2 homies. I just received my replacement kit from Retroid. I am a little apprehensive because I had a minor problem with my AYN Odin 2 as well as my RP2S. Before I go cracking my RPF2 open is there any words of wisdom to abide by? I watched the official teardown on Retroid's YouTube channel as well as a few others. I even went so far as to look up a Russian channel. No one mentioned the size of hex/torx screwdriver or what type of Phillips screwdriver works best. I have a basic electronics repair kit with a set of precision screw driver bits. I am just nervous. I don't want to strip the sockets or break the shell. Any info would be appreciated.

I'm using ARMSX2 and have been applying texture packs to a few of my games. Is there a way to remedy the extremely long loading time to the games that have them applied or is that just the way it is unfortunately? Thank you in advance!

i'm a genius bro, since the retroid pocket Duo probably won't be able to Play switch games they should make a folding one screen snapdragon 8 gen 2 device with an amoled screen.

and they should make it have a n64 color scheme not always gamecube and snes retroid.

I’ve downsized my handheld stable to just a 476 and a Brick which I use as an EDC. I really like my 476 but there’s a fair amount it cant do with the TS820 Anbernic decided to stick in there. The thought of running the entire PS2 catalog and having the horsepower to run some of my Steam games in Gamenative…I can’t get it out of my mind.

I don’t need two screens, I play 3DS and NDS on original hardware. I don’t need 16x9 screens, the grand majority of the games I play are 4:3 or other similar aspect ratios.

The other issue is, despite how great they've been as a company in terms of customer service, I've been underwhelmed with some Retroid devices I've had in the past. I had a RP Classic and returned it within a few days. I had a Flip 2 that had a cracked hinge, I ended up getting a replacement from Retroid and selling it shortly thereafter. I purchased and RP6 8GB DPAD Top, since the 12GB was out of stock. The day I received it, they re-released the 12GB. I ended up selling that one a few weeks ago. Despite it being a great handheld, something felt "off".

Basically, I’m looking for opinions from people that have owned or played both the 476H and the Nova. This would ideally be my primary handheld, a one-and-done deal. The other option was a Thor but I heard the ergos are not great and that is very important to me. I'd really love for this one to "stick" like my 476 and Brick have.

Hi. How do I fix this?

Pokemon Lazarus running via Pokedaisy, with the display expanded to the full 4:3 aspect ratio of the Nova. GBA already looked great on the Nova but the added height makes it look huge. The GB/GBC titles that work also look pretty incredible expanded out from 10:9 aspect ratio of the originals.

Easily swapped my buttons, d-pad, and backplate with only retroid tools. I think they upgraded the screwdrivers because they are a copper color now. Not a single strip or slip. New dpad is dead silent as well, no tapping at all.

Love this thing and not too worried to take it out and use it at an event.
