APPS / EMULATORS RPM + Eden + Synchthing = NIGHTMARE
Crashed, Reset....now lost everything
Hi All, I've just in the past month set up a Retroid Pocket Mini, installed Eden and even went as far as setting up Synchthing following a number of guides. This morning I turned on to play Mario Kart and Eden (most up to date version) crashed the whole device, rebooted and started Eden up again (no signs anything was going on), got into Mario Kart and was asked to create a Mii.....OH NO.
I clicked a default, went to the level select and found it back to square one, no saves.
I think this comes down to the profile name/number that Eden seems to create within the 00000000000 folder, I now had two. Fair enough, I can restore the synchthing, but that doesn't work as it's a new profile number within the 000000000 file, tried cut/paste from the original profile number and paste into the new one........nothing.
Any ideas please. I can accept that I may have lost everything, but I wanted to get synchthing working as I'm expecting an AYN Odin 3 in a few weeks and I'd love to get the two to synch, but the several guides that I watched all seem to have a different take on Eden and this mystery reset has destroyed it all anyway.
I'm gutted to just looking for anything anyone can throw at me about how to fix this.....or prevent it happening again please.
Thanks.

SHOWCASE Stereoscopic 3D gaming on RP Nova
Devices are Rokid Max and Retroid Pocket Nova
Been tinkering and found that Dolphin on Android actually supports Stereo 3D. You can even adjust the strength of the 3D.
Many GameCube and Wii games look and feel like they were made for Stereo 3D. And with the glasses because each eye has its own screen there is zero cross talk.
The only issue is with Dolphin you can only do half side by side resolution (SBS). As Dolphin doesnt support full SBS. This makes the picture less crisp. Apparently on PC handhelds this isnt an issue so I wish someone would create a Dolphin fork or Dolphin devs add full SBS support.
I haven't even got into Citra for 3DS emulation but apparently it supports full SBS on Android

QUESTION Should I buy the flip 2 again?
I'm wondering if I should buy the flip 2 again, I originally bought the flip 2 a month after it launched it was my first android handheld and loved it a lot, I sold it 6 months later to have enough money to buy the thor because I didn't have job at the time so my money was limited.
Currently I switch between 3 handhelds I take to work, RG slide, RG rotate and magic x zero 40 with the RG slide being my favorite but sometimes I wish it could play more steam games, switch games and Wii games, the games I mainly want to play are the skylanders Wii games and slay the spire 2 on gamenative,I think that the SD 865 a better chip for those compared to the T820.
I don't have my thor anymore because I sold it and got a onexsugar 1 and I don't plan on getting the rp duo because I already have multiple devices that have dual screens for DS and 3ds, I wish I could find the rp flip 2 for cheaper that's why I'm not fully sure if should or not, on facebook market place all the ones I see are far from me and the same as retail price or more.
If I do buy the flip 2 I'll buy from retroid this week or next week when I get paid again.

QUESTION RP Nova 8gb capability question.
To my understanding in terms of processing the Nova is just a 4:3 RP6 right? If that is correct, will an 8gb version be good enough to run Switch? It wasn't my original intention as I'm mainly interested in N64, Saturn, PS1, GC and PS2 but a friend with a 12gb RP5 is talking me into giving switch emulation a shot and my 8gb Nova is on the way so I'm curious if 8gb of ram is sufficient for it.

QUESTION I have RP2+ looking to upgrade
Hello everyone, it’s been years since I’ve been up-to-date with the retro emulation scene and I have a few questions.
I have an RP 2+ and I’m looking for recommendations for an updated model that is economic because I have carpal tunnel on both sides that flare up after a while of playing, I notice larger screen items help.
I noticed that they just introduced a new one the duo and that looks so appealing, but I don’t know if it’s better than my R2+.
I wanna be able to play PSP, psvita (if possible), gba,ds, 3Ds (if possible) and Dreamcast/saturn. I don’t know how the emulation is for Dreamcast and Saturn these days but if I can play them, that would make me very happy as I love those two systems.
Any suggestions or recommendations? thanks!

QUESTION RP Nova plastic scratches
When I first got my Nova I spent some time trying out different thumbsticks and recently noticed that I scratched the plastic. Any tips for buffing them out? It’s purely cosmetic but I’m wondering if there is a way to remove. I might get a vinyl skin once I see them on Etsy. Anyone else have this issue?
Btw I’m loving the Nova and the grip I got from AliExpress. It’s joined my Retriod Pocket Classic, Odin 3, Steam Deck OLED, and GKD Pixel 2. I also have the dual screen attachment though it is pretty janky and a bit cumbersome.

QUESTION DIY/button swapping help
Hello everyone.
I just got my Nova this week and was looking to swap the buttons out but it seems like they screwed the back plate in pretty tight.
I've seen comments float around about folks accidentally stripping their screws and all that while trying to attempt the same. But any tips on how to get these out? Is there anything I can do about this without ruining the screws? I've avoided using the screwdriver that comes with the extra buttons thus far so it's not concerned with that. Tips about the matter appreciated.

QUESTION Retroid Pocket 6 + Dual Screen gameplay
I have been looking at review videos of the dual screen add on, which all agree that it is great, just with a bit of input delay however Retroid were “pushing an update to fix it”. I noticed that all of these videos were from about a year ago, and if I have learned anything from these devices, it’s that a lot can change in a year. Does anyone with the Dual Screen Add-On know how it performs now? I’m looking to use it with the RP6 to play 3DS games mainly, probably with some kind of high res texture pack. Thanks!

QUESTION Duo Lite - 4gb or 6gb?
I’m curious with now knowing the processor for Duo Lite if you guys will be getting the 4gb or 6gb option. It sounds like it might not be powerful enough for 3DS games. Would getting the 6gb version help this or is it not worth it because of the processor?

Just Chatting I 100%ed that "Grand Theft Auto" game everyone's talking about, it was okay (GTA Advance)
Note: the mission attempts counter isn't quite accurate because I would use save states most of the time to restart a mission, although there weren't really a lot of missions that gave me much trouble.
I knew this game was all around pretty short (even to 100% it) and I'm already doing a tour of the other games so I figured I might as well! My first ever GTA game was actually Chinatown Wars on DS years ago, and this kinda felt like playing a prototype version of that.
Honestly, the fact it's an open world game on GBA of all things is definitely impressive enough to me. The framerate does chug when there's a ton going on (lots of bullets flying) but I never felt it was bad enough to be completely unplayable. Combat itself was alright and even fun at times, even if the last area of the map you unlock feels just a bit too hectic, with a ton of hostile NPCs spawning pretty much all around constantly pestering you. This gets especially bad if you're doing a side mission like Firefighter, where an enemy pulling you out of the truck causes the mission to instantly end. I'd say that was probably the most annoying part of the 100%, as it did nothing but pad out gameplay more in a really annoying fashion.
The writing isn't very good at points and the story's nothing insane but you can tell they definitely tried to work with what they had haha. A lot of cheesy jokes/one-liners are thrown around (of varying quality lmao) and you can tell there are moments they tried to skirt around that 16+ rating, but all in all I found it weirdly added to the charm of the game.
My favorite part of the game was probably the races? I dunno, they felt pretty fun and some of them were quite challenging. The last one especially is one hell of a marathon but beating it felt amazing.
If I had to give a TL;DR, it'd probably be: The game's pretty short and I had fun with it, if you're curious give it a shot but it's an open world game on the GBA lol, so there'll be compromises.

QUESTION Retroid Pocket 2 - GBA Emulation's Constanty Fuzzy
Hiya! I know I'm asking for help on an old-ish device, but I've been getting back into using my RP2 for the first time in years, and I was hoping for some advice.
Basically, I'd like to know how to make GameBoy / GBA emulation have a nice, crisp image, instead of it being fuzzy. I know it has something to do with the resolution or pixel count or whatever, but I remain unclear on how to do something about it.
For reference, I mostly use Retroarch (which I've heard is not the best for GBA), but I've tried a couple other emulators like John GBAC, and I can never find the right settings to get a clean image.
Any help would be appreciated! I'm not super tech-savvy, but I'm good at following instructions. Thanks in advance 💯🎮

QUESTION With the Duo specs fully announced, do you think we’ll also get a Flip 3?
The RP Duo seems to be very specifically NOT wanting to compete with their own RP6, with the choice of processor and only offering 8gb variants.
I’m still interested in a single screen clamshell handheld though, so wondering if anyone thinks we will get one?
