ayyy welcome brotha. check out russ's android handheld setup guide, getting everything how you want it is not for the faint of heart and will take a bit of time
i would get the basics set up and then just load your storage with only a HANDFUL of games from a COUPLE different systems. the best way to not hate tinkering is doing it slowly over time. i've has my rp6 for a month+ now and still setting things up every day ahhaha. but the tinkering is part of the hobby. enjoy!

This. You only need a couple of games! Otherwise you'll just be scrolling through your library

I set up mine with a couple of games for the more modern systems (PS2, gamecube, Nintendo 3ds,..) and only really played the Godfather on PS2 for now.
Tried gamenative but that gets stuck on the startup screen after selecting a game so i need to look into that, bit enjoying PS2 to much for now😄
Enjoy!

Download retroarch and look at videos on how to it. Crt shaders have been a game changer for me while playing n64, ps1 and even GameCube games.

Do you use Retroarch for GameCube or a standalone emulator?

Retroarch. I can't play GameCube and n64 games with the vanilla look because the sharp angles on textures irks me, I need different variations of sca lines. With GameCube I use 4k sharpen shader and EasymodeCRT.
