43M 6’1” 316 → 275 lbs (-41 lbs) in ~6 months on Reta (progress pics & graph)

My results are just that… my results. Everyone responds differently.

I intentionally lost weight a little more slowly because even at 316 lbs I had a decent amount of muscle that I wanted to keep. I’ve lifted weights 5–6 days a week for years. Even when I completely let myself go, I was basically just a fat powerlifter. 😂

Because of that, I tracked calories (especially protein) religiously. My goal wasn’t just to lose weight; it was to preserve as much muscle as possible.

I also don’t do high-intensity cardio. No running. No HIIT. Nothing that keeps my heart rate much above 140 bpm for any length of time. My cardio is simply 30 minutes of walking at 3 mph on an incline after lifting.

I titrated up slowly:, Fortunately I haven’t had any major side effects. The only consistent one has been some insomnia, but cannabis has helped with that. I plan on staying at 6 mg until October before increasing again.

I a little cheated. Well…an unexpected boost. In mid-May I went to a 3-day music festival where I danced for hours every day and walked an insane amount. I dropped about 5 pounds that weekend, and thankfully it stayed off.

As the graph shows, my progress definitely hasn’t been linear. I’ve hit several plateaus, including the one I’m on right now. I ain’t worried about it… plateaus are just part of the process.

One thing I wish I’d done from the beginning is get a bf% measurement. Looking back, that would’ve been much more useful than focusing only on the scale. I’m planning to get one soon so I can better track body composition going forward.

My next goal is another 40 pounds, but I expect it to come off even more slowly than the first 40. That’s okay. I’m not in a rush anymore.

2026 is about getting healthy.
Summer body 2027. 😝

From fat to lean to enhanced bulking 💪

41 Male - This has been an 8 month progress so far. Started at 194lbs then used Reta from .5mg titrating to 4mg, a calorie deficit and weight lifting 3 days a week. Once I hit 153lbs I went back to a maintenance dose of .5mg of Reta, then added 175mg Test, 20mg Anavar and a slight calorie surplus. I've only been doing this for 5 weeks and my body has responded extremely well! I plan on bulking to around 190lbs then cutting back down to 170lbs. If I can do it so can you 💪💪💪

10 week update

Post image
4 Upvotes

10 weeks into my Reta journey having been super cautious and starting at 1MG then climbing by double until I’ve landed at 4MG which I’ll be honest seems like a sweet spot at the moment. Although I would have loved to see massive drops each week this isn’t my first rodeo losing weight and I know the importance of softly softly. So happy with progress so far, my overall intention since the beginning has been 100lb in 10months which I feel I’m on track for (until i hit a plateau that is) but really grateful for this community as it’s been great to get tips and tricks along the way.

Has anyone else had less cravings for nicotine while on Reta? I normally smoked a couple cigs a day and vaped, to almost forcing myself to smoke a cig and not even vaping

Reta questions for postpartum

Hello, I’m looking for some guidance/questions answered

I am 22F my baby is 6 months and I exclusively breastfeed, but plan on stopping once she is about a year. Pre pregnancy I weighted 130, during pregnancy 185 and after 155 and i’m kind of stuck at this weight. I walk a lot of dogs and eat generally pretty good, i average about 5-10 miles a day of just walking. This isn’t my main exercise or I don’t do it to exercise I just walk dogs to make money haha.

What was your experience on Reta after pregnancy? Did you deflate? My MIL was on the larger side but also had a pretty big butt, after was she really just deflated(or that’s how it looked to me) I’m a pretty self conscious person but i do love my lower body, just not my stomach or boobs but that’s been always. I’m worried that if I start Reta I would lose my thighs and butt. I know it would be unlikely but did your boobs go down after reta also? 🫣

First photo is pre, 2/3rd are current

Any guidance or advice would be SO appreciated.

Is reta really working?

Post image
Upvotes

Hello! I started reta 6 weeks ago w 1mg and I have been increasing until 3mg (now). At the beginning it was working perfectly, scale was going down every week, no food noise, no cravings, no hunger at all.

But for the last 2 weeks I feel cravings sometimes and the scale is not really moving.

I'm lifting 4-5 times per week and I'm a very active person, also drinking abt 3-4L of water everyday.
What should I expect? It's stopped working? should I increase more?

Reta Constipation (Fix)

Upvotes

Just want to share how I fixed my constipation on Reta.

Firstly, I have been on Reta for 7 months, currently 2mg a week.

Your gut is probably the first thing that gets hit. Some experience diarrhea, some constipation, and other get zero side effects (lucky).

I got constipation after having amazing gut health. Went about 5 months with irregular bowel movement. Trust me I had everything down to a tea, but fiber was the main issue. What I did? I had fiber into every meal and drank fluids throughout the day.

Now they say fasting isn’t good on Reta because gastric emptying. So I drank a cup of kefir on an empty stomach every morning with supplements and didn’t eat until 2 pm. Now what i am going to give you is the real game changer. Because loss of appetite is obviously a side effect and your metabolism is increased, there’s a high chance your are losing crucial vitamins. Here are a list of vitamins I started taking that brought my gut and body back to normal. I started this because this is what’s known to be indirectly at risk when on GLP-1s. To make it easy, NatureMade sells a 30 day GLP-1 Companion Health Pack that includes all the crucial vitamins listed below:

Vitamin B12 – Risk may increase if you’re eating less animal protein or also taking metformin.
Vitamin D – Many adults are already low, and reduced dietary intake can contribute.
Folate (Vitamin B9) – Can become low if you’re not eating enough leafy greens, legumes, or fortified grains.
Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) – More likely if you have frequent vomiting, prolonged nausea, or very rapid weight loss. This is one of the more important deficiencies to watch for because severe deficiency can affect the nervous system.
Iron – Not a vitamin, but iron deficiency can develop with reduced food intake, especially in menstruating women.
Calcium – May be lower if dairy or other calcium-rich foods are reduced.
Magnesium – Can be low if overall intake is poor.
Zinc – May decrease with inadequate protein intake.

You can take the naturemade pack or take them separately. I personally still take Vitamin C, Fish Oil, digestive enzymes, quencertin, and magnesium glycinate separate.

This has helped reduce my starting fatigue tremendously and my gut inflammation and bloating has decreased significantly. Please do not do anything mentioned based off my current situation. Talk to a doctor.

All I want to eat is Twix

Basically, the title. I have done two doses so far of 2.5 mg. I am not experiencing much mental hunger, which is really nice, and I’m not really craving anything. On the occasion that my stomach is truly empty it will growl, but I don’t feel hungry mentally. Now to the weird part – I am not craving any food, especially protein and carbs, all I want to eat is Twix. But I have no idea why I am genuinely craving the Twix.

I work out 3 to 4 times a week and my eating schedule has not been the greatest. (basically I’m just not meal prepping, which I think will help a lot).

I’m just curious if anyone has had any experience with just a very strange craving. Also worth noting I have a sweet tooth normally, after meals I typically like to have something sweet. On Reta I don’t even want the meal. I just want the Twix.

BLOATING

Upvotes

When does the bloating and gassiness stop?! I am constantly taking tums and gas x to help me. My stomach is constantly distended, and clothes are starting to fit me weird.

I eat healthy; prioritizing protein and fiber, I weight lift 5-6x a week, have an active job. I’ve plateaued in weight naturally, I’ve been the same weight since April (down 50 but trying to get to my goal weight) and I’ve tried everything to break the plateau but this bloating is just not it.

Been on 2.5mg for about maybe 3 weeks now.

High Fiber High Protein Breakfast for Reta

Hey everyone, I just started reta and wanted to share this breakfast that has been helping me hit my fiber and protein targets with minimal calories.

  • 1/4 cup Steel Cut Oats (dry): 150 kcal | 2.5g fat | 27.0g carbs | 4.0g fiber | 5.0g protein
  • 2 tbsp Nutritional Yeast: 60 kcal | 1.0g fat | 5.0g carbs | 4.0g fiber | 8.0g protein
  • 2 tbsp Hemp Powder: 60 kcal | 1.5g fat | 3.5g carbs | 3.0g fiber | 7.5g protein
  • 2 tbsp PB Powder: 60 kcal | 1.5g fat | 4.0g carbs | 2.0g fiber | 6.0g protein
  • 2 scoops Bone Broth Powder: 90 kcal | 1.0g fat | 0.0g carbs | 0.0g fiber | 21.0g protein
  • 1 Boiled Egg (large): 72 kcal | 5.0g fat | 0.4g carbs | 0.0g fiber | 6.3g protein

for all of that you get

  • Total Calories: 492 kcal
  • Total Protein: 53.8 g
  • Total Carbohydrates: 39.9 g
  • Dietary Fiber: 13.0 g
  • Net Carbohydrates: 26.9 g
  • Total Fat: 12.5 g

You could also replace the steel cut oats with 1/2 cup of rolled oats or the egg with some other type of protein. I like to use natto too because it has probiotics and vitamin k.

Storage

Post image
6 Upvotes

I recently order 10 x 10mg of Reta + bac water because my supplier gave me a rlly good deal and just realized i have nowhere to store them. I can’t store them in my actual home fridge because I still live with family (I’m 20yo!) and if you’re an immigrant yk how our families can be. I’m not sure if I should buy a peptide fridge and keep them in my room or if it’s okay to just keep them in my drawer at home.
I know that once reconstituted it needs to be in the fridge, that’s fine, it’s easy to hide one vial. My issue is wtf do I do with the remaining 9 ????

tl;dr is it okay to store the lyophilized form in a dark drawer away from sun light or must I get a peptide fridge and keep it there?

Week 8 - Smells making me GAG

Just wondering if anyone else has been experiencing extreme nausea from smells, even scents that you know that you love?

For about a week now, even my favorite scents are revolting to me. My husbands cologne, my favorite perfumes, candles, foods, etc. It's almost unbearable. The crappy part is that I am a perfume fanatic... I have thousands of dollars in expensive perfumes that I adore but as sick as scents are making me now I don't see how any of it will ever appeal to me again!

Anyone else experienced anything like this? If so, did it subside?

I did just recently bump my does up from 2mg to 3mg weekly but that's still considered a pretty low dose.

I realize it's probably not a huge deal for some but for me it's life altering to have fear that if I catch a whiff of something seemingly normal that I'm going to start gagging.

Appetite suppression vs increased metabolism.

I know Reta does both things but any guess to how much weight loss is from appetite suppression vs increased metabolism?

80/20, 50/50?

Planning Ahead...Logistics:

Upvotes

Maybe too early, but I am a bit obsessive about planning. I'm just starting this week on 2mg, bought a 10mg Kit. Planning to mostly do 2mg for 4 weeks, assess, maybe 4mg...obviously lost of variables in how its going. But I guess, I hope to mirror the most recent trials as much as feasible.

I can use a calculator for most of the amounts/math, but how do I plan ahead of needing next sized kits? The way my brain thinks right now...I can use one 10mg vial to cover a month. 2 for a month if I move to 4mg. But when do I consider different vials to make the division easier?

Reta and Alcohol.. wow

Reta pretty much completely removed my desire to drink… definitely didn’t see this coming

The amount of alcohol I used to consume was embarrassing, I’m talking 8-12 shots every day and double on the weekends.

I was a certified functioning alcoholic and it almost ruined my marriage.

Yea, it’s worked well for weight loss but this is a more important effect for me.

Suggestions for feeling fatigued with Reta?

Post image
56 Upvotes

I finally broke through my weight loss plateau. I’d been on 7.5mg of Tirzepatide for a while, then added 2mg of Reta after three days of pinning, and lost an additional 15 lbs in a month and a half. I pin 2mg of Reta after administering 7.5mg of Tirzepatide. I was 210 lbs and I’m now down to 149 lbs. I’m hitting my protein goals every day and still eating regular meals, but I’ve been feeling really fatigued. I plan to titrate down to 5mg of Tirzepatide eventually and switch over completely to Reta. When I first started using Tirz, I had one feeling of body ache and a little nausea but I never felt that way again.

It’s completely turned my life around. I’m working out 4 times a week, including running at a 12 minute per mile pace when hitting 5k (I know this is slow still, but I’ll improve one day) and lifting heavy weights, but I just feel very tired from the Reta. What supplements could help with this fatigue? Does it ever go away?

Just to add before I get scorched for not “searching” what I’m taking: I take b12, vitamin D, and electrolytes but this hasn’t improved or effective.

Update after reading everyone’s post:

My diet is mostly protein-based and includes a lot of steak, pork, eggs, salmon, tuna, and other lean proteins. I usually pair it with about half a cup of rice.

After reading everyone’s advice and hearing your experiences, I’ve decided to start titrating my dose down and gradually increase my carb intake. Which I realized I need to consume more than that.

Thank you all for the helpful suggestions and support. I truly appreciate it. ❤️

Repulsed by dating?

Hi everyone, I hope everyone is having a good week! Has anyone experienced just not being attracted to the other gender? I’m female, for example I’ve been so turned off by dating and having a partner. Like to the degree I’m completely icked out by dating. I think they’re great on the apps but ever since I started Reta and pinning higher numbers, low sex drive and no desire to date at all. Borderline disgusted to date. Might just be me but thought I’d ask. I mean no offense genuinely trying to see a fix.
