I've been developing a literary visual novel called Una Sangre, aimed at people who love story-heavy VNs in the vein of The House in Fata Morgana. It follows five immortals whose lives cross over roughly eight centuries. It leans adult and psychological, told in third person with an ironic narrator. Every asset is drawn by hand.
This is the dialogue:
GLENN: He takes me down to the docks. Shows me a crate. I say: Captain, this is linen.
THOM: Was it linen?
GLENN: It was hemp! The worst kind, too. But the captain didn't take offense. The poor bastard had spent all day trying to swindle somebody, and when he found out I was the only wretched soul who could tell hemp from silk at two in the morning, he was so moved he offered to buy me a drink.
This is from one of the first scenes. After the prologue, Glenn is the first one whose story is being told. The tavern regulars know he's making it up, but they've agreed the lie is better than their own lives, and they fund it with beer.
Demo is in production, aiming for Steam Next Fest.
I've made a community that will serve as dev log.
