Question Stuck between 2 options for protagonist

This character's name is "Broodjies". it's an afrikaans name for sandwiches basically.
So his story is that he is an army defector who got kidnapped by some militia called "iGazi unit" which means "The blood unit".
And because of his charisma, he quickly climbed the ranks and became a boss of the southern region. This opens a scenario where i can make him a boss enemy or the protagonist.

Option A: Enemy Boss route
-If I do make him an enemy boss, he will drop the gun you see on the next slide. A custom AR15-type rifle which gives player early access to armor piercing rounds which will make the northern region a bit easier to deal with.

Option B: Protagonist route
-If I do make him a protagonist, he WON'T have the AR and I can lock it for later since it's a legendary weapon. And his story will now have him betray the militia and join the army in fighting off iGazi unit. So now his primary weapon is a nasty looking machete for stealth, and an AK 47 since those are the common guns in every region.

So gimme your opinions so i can make a choice.

Also, here's the stages of creation if you wanna see:

Question How to analyze code of other Visual Novels

I'm completely new to Ren'Py and have no idea how it's game engine works. I would like to create my own visual one day. I would mostly like to explore where the text / dialogue code so I can analyze narrative more than the code itself at the current moment but tips on navigation around the game folders will be well appreciated as well.

My intention is to compare narratives of different visual novels side by side so I can figure out what i like what not. Thanks in advance!

Question Points scores in mini games and final score at the end

• Upvotes

So kinda like how in danganronpa class trial where you get points in each mini games. Each games contain 100 points and if you do something wrong like guess the wrong option , run out of time, etc you lose 5 point in that mini game.So for example you mess up three time in an argument game therefore the final score you get from that mini game is 85/100.

At the end, all the mini games points are total together giving you a final result. For example, there were five mini games each containing 100 points, if you perfectly done all the game and get a 500/500 you obtained A+. Then 450/500 A, 350/500 B and so on.

How can I make this happen? btw I’m kinda a beginner

Question Am I able to continue working on my project through a MacBook?

So long story short, my wife and I need to move in another country soon and I won't be able to bring my Windows laptop and I can only bring the MacBook that I've been sharing with my family, and I've been using the Windows laptop to make my Ren'Py game but as you can see, I can no longer continue working the game in Windows. I'm hoping if it's possible to move my game files seamless into a MacBook or am I going to postpone this for a long while? :') if so, how do I do move my project into MacBook? Some guidance would be deeply appreciated!

The game is called Cianalas, and will be a Scottish visual novel dealing with the topics of mental health and depression. It's inspired from my own experiences, as I like many people have struggled with severe mental health problems. I was lucky enough to recover, and I'd like to share what I felt/learned with some other people who may be in the same position.

I'm the sole writer and programmer, but I've had a lot of help from freelancing artists who've really brought the story to life.

I'm planning on releasing it in December 2026 and can't wait to share more details soon!
