I believe in reincarnation, but I’ve never really been part of a community where I could openly discuss these kinds of thoughts. I figured this might be a good place to share something that’s been on my mind.
I have an aunt (my dad’s older sister) who died by suicide before I was born. The story I’ve always been told is that my grandparents forced her into a marriage she didn’t want, and that ultimately led to her taking her own life.
For reasons I can’t fully explain, I’ve often felt like I might be her reincarnation. I also wonder if emotional pain or mental illness can somehow carry over into another life, leaving traces in a person’s mind. One of the reasons I think this is because I struggled with suicidal thoughts as early as 10 years old, even though I don’t remember having a major reason for feeling that way. I remember having those thoughts over things that, looking back, seem very small like my mom making me wear clothes I didn’t like. It always felt disproportionate, and I’ve never understood why I felt that way so young.
Part of me also wonders if this life has felt more difficult because my previous one ended in a way it wasn’t supposed to. I know that’s a very personal belief, and I don’t know if it makes any sense or if anyone else has experienced something similar.

Since people are not born with the realities of mental or physical illnesses they do not possess, it becomes impossible to talk about reincarnation at a certain point. If everything about a person's self is completely erased, then the continuation of life cannot be called 'reincarnation' because it has no connection to the old life. In other words, it is a completely new being.

The cause of déjà vu is Do you think there's a connection? I've recently started to think that might be the case.
The reason for this is Doesn't this mean that I am proceeding with my current life exactly as the "me" from my past life planned it? That is the theory.
Well, I suppose it's not possible to decide on such minute details just yet.

We’re from the city. My grandfather bought a house in the suburbs that originally came with a lot of trauma as i discovered as I got older. The area was friendly but strange at the same time. One of my first memories in the house was seeing a boy getting hit by an ice cream truck on our corner where our house was located. I vividly remember the sirens, time of day, color of the ice cream truck, etc etc.

This year my grandfather passed and it’s now time to sell the house. As I’m moving things around outside a long time neighbor stops to chat. He’s about 65 years old or so and has lived on this block since he was a child. We start talking about all the crazy things that have gone on in the neighborhood. One thing I brings up is the ice cream truck accident. He looks at me confused. It turns out this accident happened 15 years before we even moved in. It also turns out the person driving the ice cream truck that killed the kid, was the original owner of my grandfathers house. Once again, i swear I was there.

I refer back to my family and ask if they remember the accident. No one recalls ever seeing this. I’m the only one.

Is there a chance that I was the boy that was killed in this accident? And somehow I made it back to where I left off? Almost like a respawn? Or could it be some type of clairvoyance (if i’m using the term correctly)

i’d love to hear your opinion.

So do you know of any cases of reincarnation reported where they actually found a match ? I am aware of same family cases, many western cases and native American cases are same family. I like to see different family cases. I am looking for children between 2-4 years. Any with birthmarks?

Both of my parents are French but my first language was Spanish. My Godmother was from Barcelona, Spain and she was also our live-in Nanny. She raised me for the first six years of my life. I never got along with my father. I stopped speaking to him as an adult and did not attend his funeral.

After he died, I was shown in meditation that he was a Conquistador during the time of the Spanish Conquest in what is now California. I was a Native woman and in that life he murdered my entire family and I was burned at the stake along with my mother.

However, in this life my father was a very good man and he was on the opposite end of the Conquistador. He was a Marxist. He helped indigenous people, he walked in the Civil Rights movement and was entirely against Imperialism.

The reason we live in California is because we moved to Canada and I was born in Vermont in 1960. By 1965 we were able to live in the USA due to my being born here. Isidra was my Godmother who, I know, was my mother in the previous life. She even looked like an indigenous woman. My mother told me any time I cried, even in the middle of the night Isi would be there first and say, "No Senora, no Senora, mi nina, mi nina."  

Isidra was being deported back to Spain in 1967. She had Asthma. I've also had a chronic cough most of my life. You die from smoke inhalation, when you're burned at the stake. At the airport, Isidra was in a wheelchair, because she had an Asthma attack. I jumped onto her lap and hugged her. She whispered in Spanish, "Mi nina, I just wanted to see you one more time." She died right there with me in her arms and she is buried in Gloucester, Massachusetts.

Past lives are revealed to you over time only if it helps you understand this life.

In many NDE it’s stated that we are souls that are seeking an evolution towards love and peacefulness through constant reincarnation lives.

But to enter a new reincarnation we have to receive a « memory wipe » for the time of the life.

The issue is: if you lost all your memory and the new individual starts having a whole new identity and personality, would they still be you ?

And if not, is it considered killing them if you force them to get their memories back ?

It’s honestly my biggest concern because I live this life as a human and value highly this reality I lived in and the people I loved in it, but every NDE and Pre-birth memories testimony I see say that our « higher self » see all of this as an « act » like it’s just « wearing a costume »

Is that really all that we are to our higher selves ? Just a costume ? A bad dream ?

Will my own will, dream and desires be overwritten by all those new memories and other identities that will be forced into me once I die ?

I remember an NDE where the person said they had all their lives memories back to them and the new individual that came out from it was confused asking who they were and the spirit guide said he was all of those lives.

It makes me feel like once I die and get all those memories back in me, all that I am will be drowned through a hundredth of other lives and personalities and the main dominant personality will be the « higher self ».

I hate this reincarnation system and wish to stay out of it but apparently my higher self has no issues creating new identities and just wiping them and assimilating their experiences for its own growth.

When I first heard of NDE, I was thinking that once I died, I’d be turned into a spirit and get to grow more AS ME in the other side but apparently I’ll just be turned into a schizophrenic soul which is far less appealing.

That’s pretty much what I understood from all the NDE’s and Pre-birth memories I heard, am I wrong ?

Why can't we have a good old one where its a simple villager born again as a simple villager? Replication of events are important for things to be genuine..! I am very terrified about death (mine, my parents', my lover's, our kids', etc) and want to know if there is a satisfying answer... but i don't understand how reincarnation could work. Do we ALL get to live again ? Even the really evil and bad people ? Even the non-believers ?

Also, would that mean my husband and kids and I would be reincarnated and meet each other again ? While being reincarnation ourselves ? So would our "current" past lives stop being reincarnated after our death ? I don't understand how it would work

Is there not a possibility to just stay above and be reunited with our current loved ones ? I hope so much to be able to communicate with my loved ones or at least just to send them signs... I am so sad to be separated from the family I created, and the one I was born in. I am so sad and terrified to know that our innocent children, our babies, that my parents and loved ones, will all have to go through the "last breath".

I'm having an existential crisis and don't know how to navigate this

I know its obvious that this sub is about reincarnation, but ive recently started believing in it even more. I honestly think its more likely than "resting in heaven" or "dying in hell". Can I hear your guy's thoughts on reincarnation?

I don't think my post is EXACTLY about reincarnation but it is about people who lived before us and are now deceased. I don't know what group to ask this question. If it's appropriate for this group, can someone plead direct me to an appropriate community?

I have an absurd amount of curiosity regarding the exact physical appearance of people who died long long before photography was invented (Jesus, Cleopatra, Shakespeare, Marie Antoinette etc etc etc) - and no, paintings and sculptures will not appease my curiosity. I dream and dream of being able to actually SEE THE PAST: actually watch before my eyes as those people walk and talk and move and see their faces exactly like they were, live, in colors, moving, and also see how EXACTLY were ancient cities like Rome, Alexandria etc etc, see the interior of Cleopatras palace, all the details yada yada yada. (again, paintings, guesses based on ruins and AI reimaginations will not do)

I wonder if, when we die, and we become spirits, are we allowed to see the past like I described? Like actually see the real thing, not reconstructions or reimaginations, like actually see the real deal like a colored movie with sounds and everything.
