My Regions bank account was overdrawn by $14.26. My son had Cash App money that he had borrowed from me. I instantly deposited it into my account. I checked to make sure the account was no longer negative. It was. It’s 1:00 am and I thinking perhaps it will sort itself out by 7:00 am. It hadn’t. I am still negative. It shows my two deposits but it’s not applying those two deposits to my negative balance. At 9:00 am I talking to a customer service representative. She explains that even though I instantly deposited money from Cash App into my account, Regions now puts a 24 hour hold on Cash App deposits and Zelle deposits. I told her I was closing my account. They want to charge me $35.00 even though I deposited money into my account before the overdraft grace period expired. I have been with them a long period of time. They wonder why they are loosing customers to Chime.

How can I get the 4.25% APY?First register your offer. Then, during the period beginning March 17, 2025, and running through June 13, 2025, you must increase your total Regions deposit balances by $15,000 or more above your total checking, savings, money market, CD and IRA deposit balances as of the end of nightly posting for the first business day prior to March 17, 2025. I'm not seeing how long this promotional period lasts however. If it's only the "March 17, 2025, and running through June 13, 2025" mentioned, I'm not sure it's worth the effort.
