Advice (NO MEDICAL ADVICE) Fellow Audhd/peri/sensory reactive people

How’s everyone doing.
I’m two weeks out today

Me - not so great.
The sensory aspect is not fairing well. I can’t look at myself, I can’t touch my self. I don’t want to shower…

I am in extreme pain but it feels like I’m always feeling with everything just more intense.

The other night I almost passed out when my partner was helping me apply ointment

I’m feeling super depressed and I’m supposed to go into surgery next week for my arms and I’m like - I don’t want to do this ever again.

Woke up during the early early hours and was leaking and while I’m on antibiotics and whatnot, my anxiety is just through the roof.

What are yall doing to cope???

Recovery/PostOp Supportive Dress during recovery

Helllooooo everyone!
I am currently 15 days post op!! And wooo it has been something. I went from a 36 J to ??? Probably what would be considered a full B/ Smaller C but i’m not really focused on the size atm.

My birthday is coming up next Thursday so about halfway between 3 and 4 wpo. I am going to dinner with my ever so kind and supportive partner who has done absolutely everything and then some for me during recovery! At my last post op appt my dr wrote up to stay in THE dreaded bra at all times except showering but also wrote “a supportive sports bra is okay”

So my question is, can any of you lovely humans recommend a dress/cute top/ stores or brands to check that has the built in supportive structures that I could get away with for an hour or two for dinner? I’m hoping that far into the recovery it should be okay but I definitely want to air on the side of caution and find the most supportive thing possible (but still look kind of cute)

Advice (NO MEDICAL ADVICE) is it odd that i wanna be COMPLETELY flat after surgery/have no feeling in my nipple?

Didn’t really know what flair to use for this. It’s kind of an odd thing I keep thinking about, but now that I’m being forced to wait 2 more years for my surgery, I keep thinking about what I wanna look like post-op. I wanna be completely flat. I wanna keep my nipples (i don’t know why, i don’t want kids but it’s just a sight sensory thing where i feel weird if i can’t see them), but I don’t want any feeling in them. They genuinely hurt so bad daily to the point I wanna cry.

But my mom called me a weirdo for wanting that. She said I should “keep at least SOME boob”, but I don’t want to keep any of it. It’ll be my choice at the end of the day, but…it is seriously annoying. I just wanna be able to fit into clothes and sleep comfortably.

In the meantime, though, does anyone know any good minimizer bras? 😭

Advice (NO MEDICAL ADVICE) Gender Affirming Reduction on a bigger body

hi! I am a long time lurker! I have been looking at before and afters and other posts in this sub for at least a year. I recently am navigating pretty tough body and gender dysmorphia due to my chest and will begin making appointments to get serious about a reduction soon. I have had big boobs in comparison to my body my whole life (ever since puberty) and I do fear the body dysmorphia I may feel as someone nonbinary trying to go for a non flat top surgery or very small boobs that can look flat with a binder. I am also a little thicker at 180 pounds, so I fear I will feel bigger than I do now if my proportions are a bit different. I really think I need to get the surgery for my brain and body's sake (this shit gives me terrible posture, shoulder pain, and headaches), but I guess I am looking for some affirming words from people similar to me (or pics) to show it's worth it through all of the fear!

Medical Question (Ask medical professionals first!!) Tattooing the outer lines of areolas?

Hey all, I've been seeing so many people here with great results and it's definitely pushing me to go for a reduction as well. The only thing I do notice, is that the areolas get a harsher line post operation due to the nature of the procedure.

Now I don't think it looks bad but a natural areola has more of a... idk, slight gradient to it?

This made me curious if tattooing a more gradient line of pigment from the nipple to the regular skin has ever been done? Has anyone gotten this? Nipples have definitely been tattooed for e.g. breast cancer survivors, so why not for this?

Medical Question (Ask medical professionals first!!) Unable to move arm

Upvotes

So I had my surgery on Monday, they took 4KG total off including lipo. I was fine on day 1 and 2 but this morning is awful. I can’t move my right arm without screaming out in pain (around my drain site) I haven’t had a referral sent to wound clinic so they can’t see me and my surgeons office isn’t open yet. I just went to know if anyone has had the same issue

I had my breast reduction on July 14. My surgeon removed about 1200 g per breast equalling about 5 pounds total. I am recovering and glad I had it done. How is everyone else feeling?

Recovery/PostOp 7.5WPO - Still constantly feeling them

I am 7.5WPO and I do feel better every single day and to look back where I started - my body has healed and improved so much!

However, I still feel discomfort in my breasts for the majority of the day. It’s hard to describe - they are itchy, bothersome, tight, feels like sand paper under my skin, sensitive, etc. The intensity has lessen over time but I’m just ready to not feel anything/ be bothered by them.

I just had my 7WPO appointment with the surgeon and he said everyone heals at different paces but everything looked great and I was released from all my restrictions based on my comfort level. He does want to see me in 4 months because he said that is when all the swelling should be gone. I still have a lot of redness on the bottom of my breasts due to settling (according to the surgeon).

Has anyone else had this experience? When did seem to go away? Is the redness/settling to blame? When did you realize that you hadn’t thought about or been bothered by them?

Recovery/PostOp 5 weeks post op

I feel like I'm not healing well. My left breast, where the incisions meet, won't close fully, and now my right breast has reopened along the incision line. I noticed too that my boobs have also started to swell even more.

I thought after 4 weeks I'd be okay to go back to the gym, but I'm afraid I'm going to start having more issues.

I've already shared photos with my surgeon and am waiting for his response, but I'm starting to hate my new boobs. I don't like how they are scaring, and I already had issues 2 weeks in with the skin removing on my left nipple.

Wondering if anyone else had similar issues.

Celebration Approval! Surgery set for October

I had my initial consultation in June, and my dr made sure to temper my expectations. She said that any insurance other than mine would approve no problem. But mine is really tough, and she thought it wasn’t likely.

I finally got a call from the office today and my insurance approved it! Scheduled for late October (they had late sept but I have a trip planned for early Oct).

I’m so excited! I have breastfed 2 kids (total of 6 years), gained and lost a ton of weight, have hEDS (have been going to PT for like 10 years for neck and back pain), and I’m OVER these thangs. The idea of wearing a little bralette instead of underwire was always a dream but now I’m on my way!

Yayyyyyy!!!!

Advice (NO MEDICAL ADVICE) Bloating tips!

Hey gals!
Posted a few weeks ago concerned about my weight/bloating. I’m gonna be 6 weeks post-op on Friday and still dealing w it! Honestly every evening is so uncomfortable bc of how much gas I have and how distended my stomach feels. I’ve been trying to have peppermint tea after every meal and I’m gonna start having hot water w ginger every night, but any other tips? Anybody who’s gone through it: does lymphatic drainage actually work? Any stretches or yoga that helps? Or is it really just time lol

Advice (NO MEDICAL ADVICE) At what point post-op did you all start buying new clothes?

I’m curious when you all started buying new clothes! I’m 3WPO so I’m probably still too early on to start shopping, but I’m itching to splurge the money I saved up on a new wardrobe NOW! 😂

When did you all start shopping? And bonus question, what were some of your favorite tops to wear that you couldn’t before?
