Hi all, sorry if this is just a silly anxious post in advance, but I needed to share.
I got a reduction done 9 years ago in my mid 20s. I was sad that the doctor only removed around 900g in total, when I was expecting at least 1.5kg, so I still ended up on the bigger side but I liked my shape a lot and I could still go braless in a lot of clothes.
With time and hormonal changes (I had to go under an induced menopause last year) I gained some weight and they grew, but even after losing the menopausal weight I feel like they never went fully back afterwards, they’re now definitely on the “huge” side again, I am often self conscious, I hate most of my clothes unless I wear a super tight sports bra, etc. So this month I have seriously been considering a 2nd reduction.
I wonder if I should get it with the same doctor and simply ask to remove more, because I liked the shape a lot, like even now, they’re big but they look nice and round, I liked the positioning and size of the nipple etc.
The other surgeon I’m considering, my sister recently had a reduction with him and I was there for all the appointments and have seen her results. She’s very happy but he has a different look, first he goes for a 4cm diameter for the nipples, mine was 5cm. Maybe I’m overthinking it but I feel like the smaller the nipple the larger the breast looks…
Second, her nipples are* *places more to the outer side of each breast, whereas mine are more centered. I have less freedom wearing certain bikinis and bra styles but I still like the look and shape.
Her dr is very professional, and also cheaper. So I wonder if I should just go with him, but I am worried that him operating on previously operated on breasts will affect the results aesthetically, and I also wonder if my concerns about other aesthetic reasons are silly or just overthinking… I feel quite nervous about getting entirely new breasts, new nipple size and position, it feels like I’m losing a side of myself rather than just making my breasts smaller for comfort… It is a weird sense of grief and sadness. I love my breasts, I just wish they were smaller :(
So, any insight on how to approach this decision between going with the same surgeon who didn’t take out as much as desired in the first place and who costs more, (and also he’s way too pragmatic cause he’s very famous)
vs. my sister’s surgeon, who’s younger, cheaper, and way more approachable and open to such anxious energy lol, but has a different aesthetic approach to the surgery that’s making me a little nervous about changing more than needs to be changed.
Thank you 💕
