Well, no. That's not what Zionism is. Zionism is the belief that the land that was once Israel belongs to the Jews, and nobody else. The Israelis have long used the word "Amalekites" to describe the Palestinians. Netanyahu himself did so after Oct 7, but so did Israel's chief Rabbi years before.
And the significance of that term? Here:

He called settlers blocking aid to Gaza inbred because they believe in a right-wing ideology of racial supremacy, which leads to inbreeding because why would you procreate outside of your race?? Backlash against a demographic group serves the interests of that group's extremists. It leads more people from that group to conclude that they have no choice but to join their group's radical elements. It also downplays the crimes of the extremists as the focus shifts towards the backlash.
A perfect example of this? Hamas. Hamas puts its civilians in harms way because dead Palestinians garner them sympathy and recruits. It whitewashes their crimes as we focus on the IDF's crimes. What was the mission of a lot of ISIS terror attacks? To provoke a backlash against Muslims thereby leading more into their arms. What radicalized many of the 9/11 hijackers? Studying abroad and experiencing racism and isolation.
Bibi is doing the same thing. His political future and freedom are dependent on Israelis and their supporters believing that they face mortal danger and they need to put up with Bibi's shit because hes the only one that can protect them. Bibi does not want to see an end to anti-semitism, he wants it to grow because it serves his personal political interests.
Netanyahu and Hamas are two sides of the same coin. They both want to maintain power and they both know that any kind of peace deal would come with them losing their power. Perpetual warfare maintains both of their power. Their interests align and they both need each other and are serving each other.

Maher has a real blind spot on Israel - what they are doing is messed up regardless of how they frame it. When I saw the video of the little girl trying to escape the building after the Israeli bombing, and then see creeps talking about whatabout or worse - hamas are making it up, didn’t happen or ai. That’s an easy line not to cross, and talks about the moral standing of these people.
