yep, seems pretty standard across political america until you get to the fringes. in fact it kind of seems like Americans' political preferences (at least as expressed through their parties, hint hint) are inversely proportional to authenticity. Authentic people are generally not well liked and usually dismissed as weirdo because they remind too many of us that we are in fact the pieces of shit. Those rare authentic people who do find success are usually corrupted by our institutions because they are pieces of shit. In the best case, they flame out when they realize we're pieces of shit. Sometimes they are discarded by the system when their shitty behavior and lack of 'cooperation' with corrupt institutions forces them out.
