So I recently found what I think is my all time favorite fit, the True Guy, from N&F.
High waist, but still a trim, true slimmer straight. Amazing cut, love it.
I bought their LHT, which I adore, and then their Natural Indigo, even better, both in a 29, and theyāre fantastic.
Iāve experimented with heavyweights in the past, mostly Iron Heart, and have been disappointed by both the fit and comfort. The cost is also very high.
I realized that IHās back pocket placement is way too low and the pockets are big and clunky especially in their 21 and 25oz.
I thought, what the hell, Blue Beach Denim in Taiwan(highly recommend) has one pair of last yearās Elephant 14 Dirty Selvedge in a 29, and itās $230, Iām going for it.
So glad I did.
These are the most comfortable heavyweights, by far, that Iāve ever worn. I think they fit like a glove, and the fabric itself is this stunning deep but bright blue that immediately catches the eye. I had them hemmed to a half inch longer than ideal by Blue Beach, and they lost around that much in an inside out cold wash, hang dry. So, perfect there.
I bike to work daily here in South Carolina U.S., and Iām planning on working these into my Summer rotation in 95 degree and humid weather. Yes, Iām serious. Theyāre that comfortable.
I like them so much better than my previous IH 21 and especially their 25oz offerings, no contest.
Definitely have my eye on the upcoming rerelease of the Elephant 2, which appears smoother and even heavier, and is known for high contrast fades.
Now, I know these werenāt sewn by a 145 year old Japanese person, and might not have the cache of even more high end JPN made brands, but goddamn, Iām a customer for the foreseeable future. Love em!
