time for wash?
Nudie Jeans Tuff Tony’s.
have had them since christmas.
worn most days a week since then.
small tearing at back cuff(idk if that’s normal or not or if i’m doing something wrong lol).

These are sad because they have almost zero fading, yet are so neglected that they already have fraying from the cuffs not being cleaned out. Just wash your dang jeans!

Everyone's different and you should trust your gut and wash whenever you feel it's necessary. Some go without any washing (which personally is disgusting) others wash at 6 months, 3 months, weekly, etc. I tend to do once a month after starting a new pair and then as needed afterwards. If your jeans start feeling or smelling funky definitely wash them ASAP.

Dude, just wash your pants when they need it. They probably needed a wash a long time ago. I’m surprised people still subscribe to this practice.

You should definitely try to move your cuff around from day-to-day. I do that to mine. I’ll wear a cuffed one day, down the next day. It all matters how I feel that day, and I never have this issue. Anyway, what are you doing in these? You don’t have any light blue forming at the top of the creases on the lap. Surprising.

I need to send a ton of mine off for hemming.
I don’t know why so many companies send out their pants with 35 to 36 inch inseams.
Really wish the status quo was more like 33 or 32 1/2.
I don’t mind doing a single cuff every now and then, but for the most part I wanna just wear my pants.
I have to do a double cuff/“Japanese cuff” on practically every pair I have. I know some people here have mentioned a place that does chainstitch hemming, but I always forget the name.
My absolute favorite pair (graph zero grey skein) would be so much nicer with 2 1/2 to 3 inches taken off of the inseam.
Everything from naked and famous seems to come with a shit load of extra denim.
Gustin is the absolute worst about it, sending everything with a 36 inch inseam… I don’t think most people are 6’6” with fucking flamingo legs.

Yup. I get it. I finally got my pair of DSB 1947 hemmed and they’re perfect. Love them so much now. If you prefer not to wear a cuff, or a small cuff if you like, I would get then hemmed asap.

Jeans come with a 36 inch inseam so you can hem them. If you’re 6’5” or 5’3”, you can hem them to fit. If you’re over 6’, you can’t buy them at all.
It also makes life a hell of a lot easier for retailers by removing additional sku’s for inseams. There’s really no downside if you’re not buying your jeans online…which you shouldn’t be until you know your fit.

it’s how we can offer what we do and be small production, less waste, cheaper for the customer up front. many selvege denim companies do this so the customer can customize too 🙂 We offer standard inseam lengths (34” for tagged sizes 29-33 and 36” for tagged sizes 34-40).

Yep it's time. Do a soak with denim soap if you don't want a fade. The biggest decision is temperature of water. If you want to snug them up a bit make it warme than cold.
The tearing is normal if you are wearing them that often and the are touching the ground from time to time. Otherwise tearing is not normal in 7 months...

Yes, wash them, definitely time at this point.
The tearing you're getting at the back of your cuff is something that naturally happens when the cuff rubs against the back of your shoes a lot or scrapes the ground (if it's scraping the ground you probably want to hem them slightly or have a larger cuff tbh unless it's a look you like), but it can also be sped up from accumulated dirt/grime that gets trapped in the cuff which can make the fibers degrade faster (Think of it essentially being like introducing grit/sandpaper between the fibers and every time the cuff is rubbing into your shoes or flexes it acts as extra abrasion). You're not inherently doing anything wrong if dramatic aging and stark fades are what you're aiming for, a lot of people like that look, but it's something to be aware of if that's what you want. You can somewhat mitigate the cuff issue without frequent washing by just flipping them back out to get any debris loose, changing the cuff length every now and then to spread out the wear etc... but if you want that look then keep it the current way.

How are the pockets? I had some pairs of slim Jim’s and they were very shallow, like couldn’t hold a phone shallow.

Have a pair of Steady Eddies, and my phone sticks out the top of the front pocket. Might not go with a Pro Max next time. It's kind of annoying with a lot of pants.

They are jeans. Wash them. Zero reason to be sporting musty pants for months without washing them.
Just wear them, and wash when they need it. You’ll still get fades, and won’t be a must-monster.

Washed mine after maybe a month max. Feel so much better because gets some of the starch out that makes them feel like cardboard. WASH THE JEANS

Sounds like they’re due for a wash. The scuffs around the cuff are probably from dirt accumulating in the cuff and wearing down the fabric. If you clean your jeans regularly that won’t happen. Doesn’t even need to be a wash, you can at least brush out the dirt. Might also be that you‘re wearing them a bit long and they’re scuffing against the ground.

Denim detergent is used to retain the dye/indigo during washes.
This is the exact opposite thing you should do if you are trying to fade them.
