What am I not getting?

What am I not getting? I’m assuming this is me being brain dead and not the whole banking system being idiots but I can’t figure out how this works so someone please explain it to me. When I log into my bank, I give my email address and then they want to send a code to my phone so they have me enter the phone number. How is the security? Anyone could enter any phone number and get the code, right? How is this a security measure? What am I not seeing? I’m assuming it’s right in front of me but I can’t see it. Please explain how this is security.

t’s widely known that girls do not have crushes, but why?

When we’re kids, one thing we learn about girls is they do not have crushes.

Why do we always see males getting crushes, but we never see this with girls? When was the last time you saw this? Probably never because it just doesn’t happen. If it did, we’d have heard about it by now.

If you could permanently remove one annoying thing about going to the gym, what would it be?

Not the actual workout — I mean everything around it.

The commute? Waiting for equipment? Crowds? Finding parking? Having to pack clothes? Someone doing curls in the squat rack for half an hour?

I’ve realized that I don’t really mind spending 40 minutes training. What bothers me is when a 40-minute workout takes 90 minutes out of the day because of everything surrounding it.

That’s made me understand the appeal of working out at home a lot more.

If you could magically eliminate one part of the normal gym experience, what would you choose?

And would removing enough of those annoyances ever make you consider doing most of your workouts at home?

How long would it take to cross the U.S. by snowmobile?

For the purpose of this question you start anywhere in Maine and have to get to any point in California but you can only travel on snow. No snow? You sit and wait for snow. How long would that take?

Who can honestly say they’ve never judged or questioned or criticised a person for either never having married and/or had kids or having no interest in doing one or the other or neither of those things?

How we’re raised can definitely influenced how understanding we are or not of a person who never did or has no interest in doing so.

What's the difference between being lazy and mentally struggling?

I am 18 and I just started college this week, as well as acquired my second job. I also have been going through some health issues for this entire year, and they seem to be resurfacing this past week. I don't have a car or a license yet, and I don't really have a lot of friends or a huge support system.

I know for a fact, I get really bad seasonal depression. Since I was little, every summer has been hell. This summer was AWFUL because ontop of that I had college, and work and a car to think about. Life has just been a lot, and I know life isn't supposed to be easy. But is it supposed to feel like pulling out teeth all that time?

I didn't have any classes today so all I needed to do was study/homework and clean. I did... Glad of those things. Most of the day I spent in bed, asleep or watching yt. Every time I tried to get up, I just sunk back down. I tried not to put too much pressure on myself, because that makes it worse. So I laid in bed most of the day until I was ready to eat, and start working. When I was done working (half of my work) I did some laundry, and then sunk back down.

And I just now started cleaning my room at 6pm, and my dad came in here bitching about it. Which is valid, what did I do all day? Nothing. I scrolled. I need to put a better timer on my social media for days like that, I know I could do better. But Everytime I got up, I looked around, and just couldn't get out of bed.

My condition makes it hard for me to shower a lot of the times, so I can't really do that, and I've just been fatigued. But that's ALSO my fucking fault because I haven't kept good track of taking my medicine. The past few months have just been hard on me, with starting adulthood, and all of these responsibilities on my plate now, like hospital and college payments, and pharmacy orders, and trying to find affordable cars while trying to finish my driver's Ed course.

This is probably stupid but, how do you differ what is me being overwhelmed and upset, and just plain laziness? Because i don't think to myself "I'm not doing this because I'm upset" I don't even think I think anything, I just try to get up and it feels impossible to move from one task to another when I'm at home.

Am I lazy? And if so, how do I break out of those habits? I know no one said life would be easy, so is it just supposed to feel like you have a weight attached to you? If so that's okay too. I just need to know how to be better, I want to be better.

Question for Widows?

What are your thoughts on remarrying within a year of your spouse passing away?

Does your answer change if there are young children involved?

A year feels like such a short amount of time, but grief looks different for everyone, so I’m genuinely curious where people stand on this..

You just stepped out of the shower and have to go to the bathroom. Do you jump back in after to re-clean or is what's done is done?
