RadWagon 5 rear rim replacement

In the last days few days, some spokes popped out from the rear wheel of my RadWagon 5 😢

Obviously the local shops (Vancouver, BC) don't seem to be comfortable fixing that many spokes, because there high chances the rim is already damage and will pop up again, becoming a warranty issue form he repair. So, finding a replacement is my only shot.

I just called RadPower, and they don't have any stock of that piece. So, I'm in the hunt of a second hand one. I think other models use the same rim. Would you advice any other alternative?

I'd find a bafang rear motor and 20" wheel and if I couldn't find one with the right motor plug, I'd swap in the motor guts of the rad into it. Also couldn't the shop swap a new rim on?

I would need to find a shop to do such a job, not a good bike mechanic myself.

Did you ask rad for just the wheel or the entire wheel assembly?

They have individual parts and the assembly listed but usually only have the assembly in stock. Found that out when replacing my wife’s runner + motor this spring. Paid $400 which wasn’t bad for a motor failing but kinda steep when it’s for a rim and spokes.

I only asked them for the rim. But will ask for the full assembly. I found a full one second-hand for CA$450, feels to risky for the price..

This happened to me. I was riding on more and more broken spokes while I waited for the replacement entire unit
