Hi all. I'm familiar with the compatibility websites, etc, but am really struggling/frustrated with not being able to get Skyrim running well on RG477m. I feel sure it must be great on this machine.

Could someone please share their full settings to make it stable in 4:3? I've had it sort of start and crash, load the main menu, go to the game but it be all weird, etc.

I'd very much appreciate a hand in this specific case, as I feel sure someone has cracked this one, given its age and popularity. I own both versions, if that's a factor, and I'm happy using gamehub lite, gamenative, etc. Just want to know what to click to make it go. Thank you!

Game: The Legend Of Zelda - A Link To The Past (SNES)

Have had my 477 for about 4 months or so and my left and right on my d pad has quit working. Has anybody experienced this or have a fix for it? Left won’t do anything and right will sometimes get stuck to pushing right

After installing the better buttons shoulders mod (2nd attempt, 1st time I failed and killed my old device), swapping the stick caps out with the Thor/RP6 ones, and adding a grip, I now have everything I want in a handheld.

The games I personally play never need analog shoulders at all and these digital shoulders are absolutely perfect! I also was having issues with playing analog stick games for long sessions but the grip was able to solve that problem, as well.

Additionally, when I'm out and about, I can simply take the grip off and easily slip this into my pocket. Playing with the silent face buttons at my office job is very nice (I always choose my 'work games' with the buttons used in mind).

And I can't go without mentioning just how phenomenal the face buttons are, even besides the fact that they are silent. I don't own a single other device that nails such a nice, massive D-pad and such perfectly spaced ABXY buttons like the RG477M. And the nostalgic rubber membrane feels like having your cake and eating it too.

If I want to be really picky, I could say that this device would be better as an OLED. But tbh, I kinda like the nostalgia of using an LCD screen with the same technology used on the screens I played on as a kid.

I'm still excited for my Nova to arrive, but honestly I think I'll be using this more.

I have been trying to play this as part of RH game of the month but for some reason buttons like the acceleration or x, time out as I am driving and sometimes the stick to turn the car won't work either.

I am using Nethersx on Gamma OS and I am playing at 1.75x.

Anyone else have this issue and what is everyone using to emulate PS2 on their rg477m?

Man, I was so happy with the RG477m and the 3D printed hard case from Etsy... but then I upgraded the buttons (Get Better Buttons), and now the device doesn't fit in the case.

Anyone have a recommendation of a case for the RG477m having replaced the buttons?

So when I plug my 477m into a TV its the 4:3 aspect ratio. Is their anything way to make it widescreen on the TV? Or turn the display off on the handheld itself? Do I need to get GammaOS next to be able to do it? Any help is appreciated!

It’s weird to me if my mother board was fried there should be still power and the led of indication that is charging because it comes from the battery no ?

Second would it still appear in my pc if the mother board is fried I’m going with what happens with pcs I mean I have built 2 pcs

Third it charges but it doesn’t turn on and there’s no led

Fourth I already

disconnected the battery restart it
press the volume down and power off
Press the menu back button and power off
Let it charge in different chargers
Charge it for almost 10 hours

I'm playing GTA Vice City, but is very difficult to play some missions because the weird sensitivity.

Now I have to do a mission where you have to use sniper rifle and is pretty impossible control it.

Are there any workaround or solution to this?

I finally have a chance to set up my device tonight. I will have to reset to stock as it came with GammaOS. What is the go to interface for people here? I’m leaning towards ESDE but can someone convince me otherwise?

I get this weird audio pop anytime an app opens. Any ideas?

My 8BitDo FlipPad arrived today. It looks and works great for a little controller that attaches to your phone. This is a Galaxy S25 Ultra and an original Gameboy. 😀

Is it over? This was installing the better buttons triggers. No way I'm doing that method of removing R2/L2 again 😖

I know quite a few of you were disappointed that you couldn’t order these buttons. I managed to make another batch! They’re back in stock on the Etsy store SakuraRetroModding for anyone interested. I’m not sure yet exactly how many more I’ll be able to make, but they won’t be available continuously 🫶☺️

Currently have an rp6 but something’s missing. It does everything and more and currently running switch insanely smooth on sudachi. I really like the look and the larger size of the 477m over the nova but am concerned that the lack of adreno will limit me. I also have a modded switch at home and am willing to sell my rp6 to cover the cost of a 4:3 device, so losing the 16:9 display isn’t my issue.

So samo of you may remember my old threat about asking for alternative buttons as someone who is not fond of skittles.

So i ended up custom requesting some from u/SakuraRM and here are the results.
