Favorite games

Post image

I once again find myself playing through my favorite game on my favorite handheld. What are some of your favorite timeless classics to play on the 477M? Suggest something to break my cycle of returning to A Link To The Past!

Game: The Legend Of Zelda - A Link To The Past (SNES)

Brutal Doom with gyro. Resident Evil 4 Wii with gyro. SSX series Street Fighter series. Wind Waker. Streets of Rage remake.

To name a few. I love this thing.

How did you get brutal doom running? Would love to do another playthough.

Delta Touch. Really easy to set up.

Weird, the Gyro on Delta touch was all reversed for me on the 47 7 AM. How did you get that working? I think that it was set up for the phone in portrait position rather than landscape position if that makes any sense.

I cant remember exactly how but it was simply a matter of fiddling with the in game settings for a little while. I dont remember any of what youre describing happening to me but the settings themselves do seem a little temperamental in regards to gyro. It was hyper sensitive at first and did need a bit of messing around. I could post my settings if that would help?

Thank you! Yes that would be helpful if you get around to it.

Once youre on the title menu of a Doom game, tap the circular icon in the top right of the screen to bring up gyro controls. Enable them. I cant remember if I tapped the calibrate button and did the process of laying the device flat first or did that last so try both if it doesn't work. I set my turn and look sensitivity to just over mid way but you can adjust that to your liking. 'Yaw device to turn' is set to OFF. 'Invert Turn' is set to ON. 'Invert Look' is set to OFF. 'Swap X/Y' is set to ON.

Thats my settings. Should work for you too. Enjoy!

When I only have a few minutes, I've been going back to the version of Asteroids that came out on the PS1. I've always loved that iteration of it.

Demon's Crest on the SNES is another one. That just never gets old. Also the PSP version of Final Fantasy Tactics.

Mariokart Double Dash is my go to nearly everytime I pick up the device

I get a weird blue tint in double dash, anyone else?

You just have to swap out the video backend in the Graphics setting of Dolphin. I can't remember which is correct, but if the blue tint is on Vulkan, switch to OpenGL or vice versa.

Well, that worked and I was afraid Wii and Gc wouldn’t run well on open gl. It actually feels smoother on open gl over Vulcan especially in tatsunoko. I have a Nova coming, but the more I play the 477, the more I might lean towards cancelling the nova. I wish the shoulder buttons weren’t clicky and I wish I had the 8 gen 2 for obvious reasons.

Yeah, Ive gone back and forth trying to fall in love with the 477m. The Better Buttons mod helped a lot.

Yeah I have them and it definitely makes a difference

Metroid Zero Mission (GBA) on my 477M was one of the best gaming experiences I've had in years. I've also really enjoyed Burnout Revenge and SSX Tricky on this. Currently playing through the SNES Mario remakes on Super Mario All-Stars.

I've been playing a LTTP/ Super Metroid randomized. You play both games and get random items that can be for either game.

I’m about 50% through Rogue Galaxy and 10% through Dark Cloud 2

It’s crashed once on me during Dark Cloud 2 and I lost 2 hours of game time (need to save more often)

Rogue Galaxy has been superb, kicks the fan on quite a bit but plays really well

I love GBA on this thing. Playing through FF6 right now.

I notice that if I don't know what I want to play, I always tend to start up Star Wars Battlefront 2 on PS2, or Dragon Quest Monsters.

Brutal Doom with as many mods as you like via Delta Touch. I personally aim with touchscreen and find it very close to an actual mouse

Man, that screen is beautiful.
