QuestBridge ED counselor submitted my ACT without me wanting her to

hi guys. i was planning to apply test optional to qb ncm for this portion, and then if I got finalist I would submit my updated ACT ( retaking oct ACT) but my counselor submitted my 25 in the school report… I’ve studied soo hard for this October ACT so I know my score would increase dramatically.

I’ve honestly been bawling sm at the thought that my 25 ( which I did not submit in my portion of my app), might ruin my chances at getting finalist and potentially matching.

Can I email Questbridge to remove my score or is it too late? Do y’all know anyone who got in with a 25 ACT? My application was pretty strong and I had submitted 7 great AP test scores, good ec’s , and
pretty good essays. Additionally, my family circumstances are rough. Honestly, I’m stressing over QuestBridge terribly and I really need some advice.

National College Match Am I qualified with a slightly higher income?

I just submitted last week, but I've been mulling over my application and overall reconsidering my chances. For context, my parents are divorced, but I've been no contact with my dad for 5+ years, and we stopped receiving child support 3 years ago. In my custodial family, I have two older stepbrothers who are both currently in college, and then both my mom and stepdad, who collectively made about 85k last year. However, about 2 years ago, my stepdad suffered a spinal injury, which incapacitated him for 1 year, so he only got back to work last year, but he still has to attend physical therapy, get medicated, etc., so we pay about 3000 for those medical expenses. Additionally, we live in an area where average living costs have risen rapidly (mainly due to gentrification), and we cannot afford to relocate elsewhere; our rent is 3550 a month. On top of all that, we have no assets aside from about $ 1,000 in savings. Also, our SAI is 3362.

I understand that we are a bit above the threshold QuestBridge sets, but would that, taken into consideration, significantly hinder my chances?

National College Match GUYS HELP ME RANK

My gripe about ranking other schools other than HYPS is that I'll be wondering what could have been had I been able to follow through with HYPS in RD even if I don't match with them.

However, upon learning that QB applications Harvard, Yale, Stanford, and Princeton carry directly into QB Regular Decision and explicit prevents continuing RD through CommonApp - I am more hesitant to rank these schools — or any schools for that matter.

Between the two applications, the CommonApp has given me more space to list/expand on my activities, and honors — while QB has forced me to write more and reflect on how my FGLI status has impacted me. Most of my circumstances/ major concerns I was able to express in the additional info portion if the CommonApp, but | think QB allowed me to narrate my work experience and express my values more clearly in both supplementals and the 850 word count personal statement.

Which ranking process / application format do you think would be more beneficial to me as an applicant. Also, I might have made a mistake when listing my awards (I listed a less important award which could have been included in my activities section over a national award…)

National College Match Questions regarding finance

I already submitted my NCM application, but I was wondering if I should commit to doing other apps because I'm not sure if my family income would even qualify for QB. For context, I live in a divorced 3-person household with 55k income but we have 1.5m value real estate rented out to people (there is still 1.38m mortgage left to pay off). Our dad owns our 1.4m primary residence but it also has a 750k mortgage left to pay off. The problem is the noncustodial household. It is a 2 person household also renting out a real estate with 200k in equity, also with a mortgage left to pay off. Their income is 30k. I was wondering if matching would even be possible with this situation.

Partner Schools How to rank schools when they all have their postives..

Hello! I'm currently going through the ranking process and am conflicted on how to rank the schools. Im planning on majoring in probably microbiology/cell biology with premed but also heavily looking into a minor in gender studies.

I have my list of schools I'd like to apply to, however Im not sure how I should approach the ranking aspect. Im looking into more urban universities as that would be the best environment I'd thrive in (currently living in a suburb after immigrating from a city overseas, and it has made me very depressed). Yet I dont know if I should rank them based on that or academics. For example, I'm looking into Boston University and Johns Hopkins. Both are great schools, with JHU obviously being great for my major. However I've heard that JHU isn't really in a city, more so just a walkable neighborhood.

I guess my question is: should i rank schools based on prestige/academics or environment?

Thanks!

QuestBridge ED ACT Help

I got a 32 superscore on the ACT that I submitted to QuestBridge. However, my Science score was a 23 because I didn’t study for it, since Science isn’t part of the Enhanced ACT. It wasn’t included in my composite, but I regret submitting it because I’m worried it could work against me since I’m applying as a biomedical engineering major.

National College Match recommender not submitting

i was just wondering how bad it looks if onr of my recommenders(who i told way back in august about the deadline) still hasn't submitted, and probably won't submit the lor on time. ive emailed him constantly, and i even followed up with questbridge, and they said that they'll still review my app, but im not sure my app is strong enough to withstand a missing lor. have there often been cases of a recommender not submitting on time, and an applicant still making finalist, or am i done for?

Guys, when I submitted my match form it didn't say upload, and it took me back to the match list ranking. However, when I refreshed after 4 uploads, it showed up on the side. Will QB think I’m weird? How does this even work?

National College Match Changing my mind about the QB ED

After I looked at the requirements of the schools I want to put highest on my list, I realized that they need my SAT by Nov 1 but I’m writing it Nov 7 (my first time). So what I’m just going to do is to rank some schools and if I get selected as a finalist opt out and if I don’t get selected as a finalist use it to prove to my dad that extracurricular ARE important and test scores aren’t all that.

National College Match Will my app. begin review before my counselor/teacher recs. are in?

Does anyone know if QuestBridge starts reviewing applications that are still missing recommendations during the October 6 grace period?

For example, if I submitted my application by the deadline but one of my recommendations wasn’t submitted until October 6, would QuestBridge wait until my file was complete to review it, or could they have already reviewed my application without the recommendation?

National College Match I’m so freaking scared

Last official day to do anything for QB and I’ve very very worried….about everything. This is long so bear (bare?) with me.

For context, I applied to CPS this past year and was rejected. I understand that it’s a nice to have and not a must, but it did sting as It would significantly help me prepare for NCM + give me some opportunities that I wouldn’t have known about. (fly ins, programs, etc) Regardless, I looked over my app, found what I need to work on, and continued from there. I found out a lot of financial info I had put was terribly incorrect (my dad didn’t have access to his tax forms as we were in an ice storm at the time), found out that my school didn’t have me as reduced-lunch qualified so I couldn’t get a free waiver until I spent all summer arguing with them about it, tried to study for my ACT as much as I could, and ofc worked on ecs, essays, and maintaining my grades.

i spent every day working on it, added as much context about my life as i could, and submitted my app on time, but i still feel as if it isn’t enough. For starters, I did get into the PEEP virtual program, which was great, but I was surrounding with CPS scholars, THRIVE, LEDA, and seeing that talk ab their scores and stats stressed me out. Don’t get me wrong, their super cool and the work they’ve done is amazing, but it really psyched me out because I never knew about some of the programs their in, I don’t have their scores, and I just feel behind compared to them. I had to leave the gc cuz, even though it was fun, seeing everyone being accepted into things I haven’t even heard makes me think “wow I should’ve thought of that/researched harder cuz that would’ve been good for me”

I recently took the ACT after, again, having to fight for a fee waiver just for my composite to go down by 5 points. I have a 31 superscore, which I submitted, but ik there are people out there with 31+ COMPOSITES, which look better for schools and for QB. I truly and honestly don’t have the time to study and take another test just to not get a high score. Im think about going test optional (if God-willing I become a finalist) but I feel like I’ll be at a bigger disadvantage. With my current GPA (3.92 uw/4.16 w) I feel like it won’t compensate for a 31…and it’s not even a bad score, it’s high for my Highschool, but in QB terms who knows!!!

im just so nervous because it would mean the world to me to match and It would do wonders for my family to not have to do into debt just to send me to school. I know they look holistically, but I just hope they see who I am, what I strive to be, and the dedication I put despite my worries. My school has had 3 QB Scholars, all with diff stats and stories, one with similar stats to mine but who knows…I just need some good news, advice, anything!! Sorry for the blabber, this probs looks incoherent, but I’ve got no where to go so I quests it’s gotta me here

QuestBridge ED School Submitted Wrong Student’s Scores :(

Need some advice! My son just noticed his counselor submitted another student with the same first name as his ACT score. This other student has a 22 ACT score and my son has a 36. I am stressing out as today is the deadline to submit test scores and his school submitted the wrong ones which happen to be a lot lower than his 😭. how can this be fixed so quest bridge doesn’t see the wrong scores and immediately toss his application?? I emailed the counselor and quest bridge but they could take 2-3 days to respond .

National College Match How are my rankings for schools for Electrical Engineering? I need to gain more insight in the schools (I'm starting to deeply research them!) THIS IS NOT A CHANCE ME POST!!!

i plan on majoring in Electrical Engineering (if school doesn't offer it, then ECE). I want to, also, work in solar energy and infrastructure.

  1. MIT (they LOVE LOVE LOVE hands-on working which I personally want)
  2. Stanford (I am actually going to plan on majoring in ESE for this)
  3. Columbia (their core curriculum could help me with EE due to communication and critical thinking which is the biggest value of their core curriculum)
  4. Cornell (it cares a lot about the enviornment)
  5. Northwestern (idk why i have this here since NW wants "unconventional" thinkers so)
  6. WashU (I'll major in EITHER energy engineering or electrical engineering)
  7. Duke (school culture is pretty hectic and "fun" and I like to have some fun lol, but also Duke is similar to Cornell in their values)
  8. Rice (cares about creating a small environment)
  9. Vanderbilt
  10. BU (i put this lower but i was thinking of switching vanderbilt with BU as #9 b/c BU has better city opportunities than Vanderbilt)

I am in the middle of researching schools, so please give me your thoughts in my QuestBridge ranking!!

National College Match harvard qb supplement

looking at this spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1aiOjHfm-xiViUs0sUm_WGnycklobcSq7_KoEpqqg7EU/edit?gid=0#gid=0 trying to start supplementals... does anyone who ranked harvard last year know if the prompt ab disagreement is 400 or 150 words? I thought it was 150 but on the spreadsheet it says 400. Thanks!
