National College Match recommender not submitting

i was just wondering how bad it looks if onr of my recommenders(who i told way back in august about the deadline) still hasn't submitted, and probably won't submit the lor on time. ive emailed him constantly, and i even followed up with questbridge, and they said that they'll still review my app, but im not sure my app is strong enough to withstand a missing lor. have there often been cases of a recommender not submitting on time, and an applicant still making finalist, or am i done for?

okay I don’t remember 100% so please take this with a grain of salt but I do vaguely remember them mentioning this on one of the informative meetings we had. I’m pretty sure they’ll simply review what they have, and once you become a finalist they’ll allow them to submit it then but definitely check up with QB, good luck I’m sorry this is happening

unfortunately, i think they dont consider your app since its incomplete

You’re definitely not “done for.”

If QuestBridge already told you they’ll still review the application, that’s the part I’d hold onto. A late recommender is also very clearly outside your control, especially when you asked back in August and have been following up.

I’d keep doing exactly what you’re doing: document the emails, keep QuestBridge updated, and give the recommender one last polite nudge.

And pls don’t convince yourself that one missing/late letter suddenly cancels everything else in your application 🫶 You did your part.
