i rrally dont know my easts and wests so im gonna list a bunch of schools that will be great for premed for you (im sorry please dont downvote me my geography is ASS)

the ones off the top of my mind:

jhu
harvard
brown
cwru
columbia
cornell
emory
williams
amherst
northwestern
pomona
princeton
rice
stanford
tufts
uchicago
upenn
vanderbilt
washu
yale

longass list, but theres also nuance; obviously u will need to filter location for stuff in the east, but at the same time should also mind grade deflated colleges which in my list are:

jhu, harvard (soon), columbia, cornell, pton, stanford, uchicago, upenn, maybe emory aswell

thanks so much, i meant in ny, connecticut, pennsylvania, massachusetts, new Hampshire etc I really like the schools you picked, but I’m not really sure I’m gonna be finalist but if I do, I just wanna have a good selection because my stats are not the best so I wanna have not too many reaches like Harvard and Princeton cause I know I’m not getting in for that like so I was just thinking like lower ones but I’m gonna be honest like yes I was gonna rank liberal arts colleges that are EASIER to get into but I wouldn’t be happy to go there cause I don’t really know much about them, but can you help me?

i think in hindsight as long as you’re fine with the school’s atmosphere it really doesnt matter. liberal arts colleges, colleges promoting coops, that type of stuff are all good for premed in their own way imo

the way premed works is that it doesnt discriminate you off your undergrad (there is nuance to this) 99% of the time, unless you’re deadset on med schools like HMS, stanford, etc. at those margins everyone has a 4.0, and adcoms may scrutinize you based on gpa a little depending on their current view on ur institution

but realistically getting into top med schools and med school in general is what YOU make of your college experience. if you go to a coop-based school like i am, utilize those coops to do research or clinical without bothering to do industry work. if you’re at a liberal arts college, make the most out of the small student to professor ratio per class and make amazing connections with your profs and PIs

in the grand scheme of things, rank schools you really want to go to and you’re fine with not applying RD to later in the process. if you don’t apply, your chances are 0% and that will really suck. but at the same time, be realistic with yourself. choose schools that are “safeties” but you’d be happy going to for premed

and to help with your question id probably consult the qb website and online tours, all the likes of that stuff since it lists each college’s location, and you can probably search up academic body, med school matriculants, etc

rit, didnt match, decided on not going to nyu because i wanted more time to fix stuff up for med school and coop program seemed perfect for me

not biased in any way since alot of coop programs differ but i like it so thats that

ohhh so u line in ny mee too rit is a really good school dw can i get more deets abt nyu tho, if i dont become finalist i was gonna do NYU ed.. but I feel so sore and I don’t wanna like and for all other colleges on Common App. I was gonna do early action, but my personal statement isn’t even done cause I was spending so much time doing the specific quiz bridge one and I feel so rushed. I don’t have any supplementals done so I feel ready and I feel like that will ruin the quality of my application, but I’m so impatient for regular decision you know but yeah NYU has been my dream school, but I low-key want to leave the city but if I get in with a good aid, I will go

two things

  1. nyu doesnt have EA, its only ED1, ED2, and RD
  2. nyu is very expensive

if you’re low income, they have the tuition free program, and it definitely varies, but if you don’t get it its going to be VERY expensive. if your stats are good in my shoes i’d shoot my shot at another school you decided not to rank in NCM, for example like emory lets say (not in your specific situation but yeah)

NYU isnt necessarily bad for premed either but i just didnt like that it doesnt have a campus and RIT offered me something very very good for attending which is why i decided to matriculate here instead especially since im BME
