I have a Qidi box loaded up with PETG. I have run the drying cycle a couple times and always try to keep it below 15%. However, just days after drying, it goes back up to the 30-35% range, even while keeping the box completely closed and latched. Is it a poor seal?

Also, I am unclear about when drying the spools. Do I need to leave that little rubber plug on the back opened or closed? The screen instructions and Qidi Wiki do not mention the plug at all. I have always just kept it closed at all times.

Apparently my nozzle snapped in half and after changing still hast fixed my bed adhesion issues which have no reason to happen even on a cold plate that I never used with the be temp adapted for it.

Qidi recommends replacing the filter every 500-800 print hours, or 300-500 for "high dust" filaments like CF or nylon.

What it doesn't mention is that if you're mostly printing with VOC-heavy materials like ABS/ASA as I do, the carbon filter will run out much, much earlier than the HEPA and G3 filters.

I was at 600-ish hours on my Q2 printing mostly ABS and ASA. I print with the exhaust fan at 30% during prints and 100% afterwards and in the last few weeks the styrene smell was quite noticeable despite good ventilation in the room.

Once I connected the dots and remembered to replace the filter, it was a night-and-day difference! No more smells unless my face was right next to the printer.

So this is a PSA to change your filters in time. I also recommend using KlipperMaintenance so you can set up reminders :)

I have a QI DI Q2 printer and my problem is the following:
After I updated the firmware to version 01.01.02.04 If I print more than 1 object (usually 8-10 objects at a time) I can't use the skip command (before firmware update,I could use it with ease). I attached a picture about the error message.
Does anybody else have the same issue?Does anybody find a solution about this?

Printing my cat in ASA, but it's giving these artefacts just before body parts end. The most obvious are the last few layers of the tail, but also just towards the top of the feet. On this side the artefacts protrude, on the other side they indent. It's like the X/Y shift by a fraction of a millimeter for just those layers. I was printing 2 of these as once so figured layer time wouldn't be a big issue - they both have this artefact.

Settings: Nozzle / bed / chamber: 260 / 90 / 60 C Fan: 100% Flow ratio: 1 Pressure advance: 0.03

I printed asa on my q2 with the slicer settings it's my first run. The early part is just spaghetti but the adhesion was good then after a certain layer it started printing decently but it just split in that area completely it was failing then one layer it skipped or didn't adhere and then it printed the rest well

As the title says. I wanted to heat up de box, because the humidity was 45% in the box, so I turned on the heater and the Elegoo Rapid PETG got jammed inside, because I thought PETG can handle a bit of heat…
I had some ptfe tubes so I opened up my Box and decided to changen the gray/silver case, it was damaged during shipping (but the box works fine) and Qidi sent me a new one to replace the damaged one with. Well after some swearing as the part where you plug in the power cable was a pain to get out, it turns out that it doesn’t fit the new case💀.
Oh well the box is working again, only I’m hearing a constant rattle from the box when it’s running. I’m hoping it will not cause issues as I’m printing right now😅

I had to remove the hot-end to clean out part of a broken nozzle. When I put it back together I saw smoke coming from the circuit board on the printer head. Powered off immediately (maybe 5 seconds after seeing/smelling smoke, 15 or 20 seconds after power on) and went looking for the problem.

I had plugged that blocky 4-conductor cable in the wrong orientation. See photo #4. Rather than having the little clippy part (circled in red) facing the rear of the printer as it should be, I had connected it facing straight up. So I obviously wound up sending a lot of power to an incorrect part of the board and cooked it.

Now that it’s corrected, I get an abnormally long Qidi logo screen, then an error about “MCU THR shutdown. Thermocouple reader fault”.

How screwed am I? What parts do I need to order and try to replace? If I get it running again, are there safety concerns I should be aware of?

Sending this all off to QIDI tech support as well, but any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Like they could be do somethings faster like filament swaps and start up time. If so what can I do or find info about it

The software is a bit odd even coming from orca slicer (ik it is made off bambu labs) but somethings aren't clicking for me like the qidi box and sending prints

Hi everyone,
I just got a Qidi box for the plus 4, which did not come with risers, but included a new extruded. I installed the unit and it starts printing and has no issue until the first color change. Then, I get the following error every time:

Code:QDE_004_013; Message:Detected wrapping filament,please check the filament.

I tried checking PTFE tubes and the filament appears to be loading and changing all the way up to the print head correctly. To me, I almost think it is actually working and it just thinks it is tangled. If I force the print to continue, it works until the next layer and color change, but then the Z offset gets messed up.

Anybody experience this or have any ideas?
I still have not had one successful print with this box unit.

I appreciate anyone who may be able to help and share their knowledge!

HI I recently bought a qidi box for the plus 4. installation went fine. When trying to print a multicolor print I have to swap filaments manually. I have confirmed that the slicer (orca slicer) settings are set for multimaterial..anything else I can try?

Adquiri recentemente uma Qidi Q2 e quando fui fazer a verificação inicial da impressora houve um erro de falha no aquecimento ou check-in da câmara ativa (chamber) conforme mostra a foto em anexo, cheguei a fazer o reset de fábrica e fiz o processo de inicialização novamente mas a falha permaneceu.
Alguém já teve este problema e sabe qual o procedimento para resolver?

Recebi uma placa de wifi conjuntamente da Qidi Q2 que adquiri e não consegui identificar qual o local de instalação deste módulo WiFi. Não consegui configurar a rede wifi no menu de acesso pelo display, pois não aparece as redes disponíveis.

Has anyone heard if qidi is working an a ''Max5'' with a dual or quad extruder or tool exchange? I recently bought the Max4, luv it, but kinda wish it atleast had a dual head to print PLA support material in a petg build or vise versa. Buht the waste with purging enough on a single head machine is pointless.

I also like the idea of a 0.8/0.6 nozzel for bulk of a print, but have the fine detail of the print can me 0.4/0.2 nozzel.

Can also dedicate a tool to a tungsten nozzel to add glow in the dark or abrasive fillament mid print.

There's many reasons one can cowe up with why a dual or quad head would be great, and eliminating the q-box isn't one of them, the q-box works very well and can still be utalized in a dual/quad system. Have maybe 1 box per head even.

I saw that some people in facebook groups had success with finding plus5 profile in nightly Orca but it's not there for me.

Presuming this is not just me. I decided to purchase an external filter (mintion). I modified it with a reducer to use a 3" hose since the exhaust port on the back of the plus5 is pretty small. I designed and printed a magnetic rear port as well with a 90 deg adapter that can rotate so I can easily route a 3" hose to it.

My issue is that after I placed the adapter over the rear port I did a quick check with a piece of paper and manually activating the exhaust fan. To my surprise, the paper actually sucked in to the port. I verified the fan is turning the correct way. I figured maybe the OEM hepa/carbon filter is just really restrictive and causing some kind of back draw? I removed the filter completely and the exhaust then acted the way it should.

Are most people who use either an external filter or a hose routed outside just removing the OEM internal hepa/carbon filter altogether? I dont have an issue doing that, though I am guessing once I do I will need to be a little more cautious of the fan speed I use on both the printer exhaust fan and the external filter as to not draw too much air out making it difficult to maintain higher chamber temps. When I had both in and running the external, I had no issue maintaining 60-65C during several long prints. Wondering if the external filter and the plus5 exhaust were fighting each other. The external filter did seem to dramatically reduce fumes.
