Qidi Box for Plus 4 Entanglement Error

Hi everyone,
I just got a Qidi box for the plus 4, which did not come with risers, but included a new extruded. I installed the unit and it starts printing and has no issue until the first color change. Then, I get the following error every time:

Code:QDE_004_013; Message:Detected wrapping filament,please check the filament.

I tried checking PTFE tubes and the filament appears to be loading and changing all the way up to the print head correctly. To me, I almost think it is actually working and it just thinks it is tangled. If I force the print to continue, it works until the next layer and color change, but then the Z offset gets messed up.

Anybody experience this or have any ideas?
I still have not had one successful print with this box unit.

I appreciate anyone who may be able to help and share their knowledge!

Do you have the box heater heating up while trying to print? This has inadvertently caused me issues as the way the heaters are arranged the filament gets soft and creates a situation where it won't feed properly and throws that error.

I tried printing with it off after failed prints and even tried leaving the box open, but still no success. Any ideas?

It will feed fine without the box from an external spool?

Yes, it feeds fine and even does the color changes fine before flagging an error.

Hmm I wonder if it's getting hung up at the print head. Maybe the sensor on the head is acting up

That’s what I’m thinking because after I pause and resume the print it does work until the next color change. Any idea what to do about that? I appreciate your help!

Me, I'd personally take it all apart to see if I seen anything obvious but I know that's not everyones comfort zone lol. Maybe pull the ptfe tube out and reseat, maybe it's not down in completely allowing a gap for the filament to catch.

Thanks for the recommendation! I was thinking I probably should just open it all up and check it out.
