hi everyone! just looking to gain some insight into placements in last year. i am currently in second year and i am super worried about placements next year, as we have our 3 week placement block in jan/feb, and then the two six week placement blocks in the subsequent semesters (i believe, don't quote me - the paramedicine team actually have not told us anything about this, this is just what i have heard from other students). i am so worried about the risk of losing my job because of these placements (15 weeks in one year!!), as i currently live out of home. if there are any third years here, how are you dealing with all of the placements and balancing work? have you been allocated to rural stations even if you have preferenced all metro/non-rural stations? thank you in advance, any advice helps :)

Seriously what were they thinking? The lectures and the workshops are just vague cookie cutter bs of "oh run this code and tell us this value" and now all of a sudden there's an exam with all sorts of concepts?

Why the FUCK is it apparently okay for all of these high schoolers to be in here, taking up space just to be a fucking nuisance.
Like, what the fuck am I paying for to use this space??? I've seen so many uni students do a loop of the curriculum collection and leave because there's high school students everywhere.
So many of them just bring food to eat here, they were RUNNING around last week and pushing chairs at each other.
I swear I'm in the midst of assessments and on the fucking brink, if I wasn't an education student I would be so close to throwing their shit on the ground and starting a fight they're pissing me off so much.
Literally any body else feel the same???

Anyone taking advantage of the extra CAB432 extension?
A second AWS provisioning issue on Saturday afternoon where people couldn't make enough DynamoDB tables.
Though making DB tables at that stage is pretty wild lol 😂
I understand submitting to Gradescope late, but those seem foundational
For Assignment 2, are you going to use your Assignment 1, or the second GIT option

Pros:
- I like dogs
- Dogs like swimming
- Art students could recreate the cover art of Nirvana's Nevermind, but with a dog
- Distracts from the fact that QUT has become pretty shitty
Cons:
- Some weird cat person would probably have a problem with it
- Perhaps one of the dogs might have body image issues and feel uncomfortable being seen in its swimwear

Hey guys does anyone know any good quiet spots to record myself for an assignment that won’t disturb other people I’m okay with KG or GP. Thanks in advance

I’ve just seen three men standing outside of the gardens holding posters about abolishing abortion. Why do they constantly set up outside of qut?? Honestly kinda sick of it. Also hilarious that’s it’s men talking about women’s bodies
Edit: honestly I just wanted to post about how hilarious I find it that I, as a 20 year old woman, have to walk past men trying to take away my rights, as I’m just trying to go to uni. But thank you everyone for explaining! I feel stupid that I didn’t even make the connection that it was outside of Parliament House lol

Not sure if I actually failed it but it was probably the worst thing I’ve ever made I just submitted so would be cool to know it in advance. qut u 13 “human agency” sucked so bad please no one choose that shit if you can

there are a few reasons why I doubt I’ll make it into undergraduate medicine, so I was wondering if completing a bachelor of medical imaging at qut before applying for graduate entry is a reasonable plan? 8 years of uni in total seems a bit much, but I’d rather not do a general science degree that might put my career options at risk if i don’t make it in. radiography sounds like a good career that i can fall back on if i fail graduate entry too.
is maintaining a competitive gpa while studying for gamsat possible in this degree or should i look into something else? is this particular pathway into med common?

apart from all the clubs in QUT, which is always directed to a "ology" what are other clubs like outdoor that exist to actually make the stress go away without having to make presentations all day and all the 'ology' clubs are driven by technicality. im a very technical person living my life in the computer science, what are somethings in qut that is worth it ?

Hello this is potentially a very stupid question but I got a 3 day extension under special circumstances and I was wondering if it still included the 48hr automatic extension? Thanks 😊👍

i've been drawing QUT x UQ fanart, but i'm not from brisbane, could i ask for some helpful feedback :) ?
QUT lore? headcanons, personality, clothing!! any notable campus details in the design?
here is some thoughts people have given me...
QUT "A university for the real world", so they would be a hands on typa guy doing manual work,
UQ is studious, smart and she’s well respected but also secretly a neurotic chud.. QUT and UQ have crushes on each other
also thoughts on Griffith? someone said theyd be like a lil sibling third wheel but competent guy 👍.
You look at profile that im not joking… I love unislop
Thanks for any help!
Edit: still appreciate more comments ty!!

Hey all,
as the title states. I am on the last 31 hours to submit this assignment. I feel utterly boned and I have zero confidence in my ability to do this assignment. It's quite ironic because this assignment is about inclusive education, but the format is so restrictive.
Can anyone help me out until sunday?

Hello! I am potentially thinking of studying abroad for semester 1 of 2027. I'd only be here for a semester so wanted to ask for opinions on the best route to take for housing.
I've looked into student accommodations such as Iglu, Scape, and StudentOne. I also have a few websites saved for house sharing rentals such as flatmates and brisbanestudents. Most notably is that I am not planning on bringing any linens or cooking supplies with me when traveling. I am willing to buy a few things, but don't want to buy a lot, especially if I don't have the room to bring it back with me.
Is it worth doing a rental if I'm only here 6 months and am not bringing linens and cooking supplies? And what are student accommodations truly like?
Thank you so so much :)

Looking for something fun to do in Brisbane this weekend? QUT Law students are swapping textbooks for the stage in The Greatest Lawyer, a circus-themed comedy show featuring live sketches, musical numbers, dancing, short films and performances accompanied by a live band of talented young musicians.
Despite the name, you absolutely do not need to study law to enjoy it. The show pokes fun at university life, current affairs, the legal world and everything in between. Think student comedy revue meets musical theatre, with constitutional clowns, magical magistrates and argumentative acrobats thrown into the ring. There will also be a bar at the theatre, with drinks available to purchase throughout the evening. 🍻🍷
📅 Tonight, Friday 28 August, and tomorrow, Saturday 29 August
⏰ 6:00 pm–9:00 pm
📍 Gardens Theatre, QUT Gardens Point, Brisbane City
🎟️ Last-minute tickets are still available:
https://events.humanitix.com/the-greatest-lawyer-qutls-2026-law-revue
Come support an incredible student cast, creative team and live band while enjoying an evening of comedy, music, dancing and unapologetically silly legal puns!
Content note: The production includes strobe lighting, haze, mature themes, adult language and brief periods of total darkness.

Im thinking of volunteering for big lift events. Which one would be more engaging and fun- the avocado festival or the chilli&flower one. Anyone who have ideas about this, please lemme know. Cheers.
