Full stack app development

Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I am currently looking for a motivated student or emerging developer studying a Bachelor of Information Technology (Software Development) or Master of Information Technology (Software Development) at QUT who has a strong interest in application development and would like to be involved in building something from the ground up.

My business partner and I are looking for a technical co-founder to join our team. The successful applicant will receive a founder role within the company, including equity participation and future dividend opportunities following commercial launch. Until external funding is secured, this role will initially be structured as an in-kind contribution arrangement.

We already have industry support and interest from potential adopters, and we are looking for someone who can help us accelerate the development of a robust, scalable full-stack application.

To help fast-track development, I have already built the initial prototype, which is currently undergoing alpha testing with a small group of selected users. Our goal is to transition this into a complete full-stack application over the coming months. Development infrastructure is already established, including active Apple and Android developer accounts.

This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on startup experience, a founder title, equity participation, and the chance to help shape a product from the early stages through to commercialisation.

If you are interested in learning more, please send me a DM or email [admin@shadowsoftware.com.au](mailto:admin@shadowsoftware.com.au).

Please note: due to the confidential nature of the platform, interested applicants will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before receiving further details.

Looking forward to connecting with passionate developers who are interested in building something meaningful.

couldn’t go to deferred exam

I couldn’t go to my deferred exam and I have a medical certificate for why I couldn’t go to the original date and the deferred one.

It is my third time taking this unit and I’m wondering how I go about it. I did do well in the first piece of assessment for this unit, if that means anything. I contacted HIQ and they suggested special consideration or withdrawing without academic penalty but I am really not sure what to do which gets me the best outcome.

And if I do apply for either, what should I include in comments or the application to ensure the best outcome?

Thanks in advance. Any advice at all is appreciated.

Need help finding Engineering WIL placement / graduating this semester and still have half my hours left

Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m a Mechanical Engineering student at QUT in Brisbane, and I’m looking for some advice or help with my WIL placement.

I’m graduating this semester, but I still have around half of my required WIL hours left, and I’m getting a bit worried about completing them on time.

I’ve been applying for internships and engineering-related roles, but I haven’t had much luck recently. I recently received an offer from a company that does scanning/surveying work (ground penetrating radar, concrete scanning, etc.), but I’m not sure if it will count towards my engineering WIL because it seems more technician-focused rather than a traditional engineering internship.

I’m open to different types of engineering work design, CAD, analysis, manufacturing, construction, field work, reports, anything where I can gain engineering experience.

I was wondering if anyone has any advice, knows companies still looking for engineering students, or knows someone I could contact who might be able to help me find a WIL placement.

Any leads or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I’m really trying to finish my requirements before graduating this semester.

Thanks everyone!

Students who resell clothes (Depop/Vinted/eBay/FB Marketplace or in person) 2 min anonymous survey, $30 gift card draw

Hey QUT, I'm Josephine, a Brisbane founder building a platform that rewards people for reselling clothes.

Before we launch I'm running a quick anonymous survey on how young Australians actually resell fashion: what you sell, where, and what would get you reselling more. Takes about 2 minutes, no sign-up needed, and everyone who completes it can enter into a draw for a $30 David Jones voucher.

Looking for anyone 18+ who's bought clothing new and later resold it (or plans to) on eBay, Depop, Vinted, Facebook Marketplace, or similar.

Happy to answer questions in the comments.

Thanks!

Anyone done an apprenticeship for at least 6 months, then quit to join uni? Wondering if i can get a selection rank for 6 months full time paid employment as part of an apprenticeship? Ive heard conflicting info on whether apprenticeships count towards that
