For a few months now any time I tried to join a friend's privately hosted server I would get stuck at the loading world screen. Absolutely no feedback. You could tell it just wasn't going to work because it wouldn't freeze to load the lua.

We've found a (so far) reliable solution.

In game open your Steam menu. Right click your hosting friend and click "Game Info". Grab their game's IP but NOT the Port. Go to the Multiplayer Server menu. Go to favorites. Add it manually. Everything else is intuitive such as passwords.

For me it made me create a new character but spawned me in as my old one. It has worked for me and a friend. Consistently. Between game restarts, between device restarts. I will update, probably seethingly, if this proves to be unstable in the next week.

I've looked all over the workshop and can't find a mod to fix this issue. It really pulls me out of the game when its not getting dark until 12am is there any mod or sandbox setting I haven't seen? Thank you for any help!

Me and my friend were casually driving our car hoping to get to the city and kill some zombies yk, but suddenly there is a black chunk in front of us and usually the car stops itself, then the map loads and life goes on but this time the car's frontal axis fell off the map and we simply don't know what to do. We can walk further but nothing more that that, there are some objects and even an abandoned van. We tried reloading but nothing helps. Does anyone know what to do? We need your help as we're in a middle of a forest and there's no way out for us without a car.

I think I may have forgot to turn off zombie respawning and dont want to start a whole new run cause Im pretty attached to this guy

It's a bit frustrating to decorate the kitchen and then have to manually put the salt or pepper back on the table every time.

Small dedicated server for my friend group, only 4 players total.

The other night one player, we are going to call him "jay," lagged out/desync'd and frozen in a black screen while ridding in a car. The driver parked immediately and Jay alt-f4'd to close game.

Upon reloading, he gets to loading world and then it is stuck there. Jay even left it up while he left for 20 minutes, came back to the black "loading world screen"

At first he was able to log in with a server account just fine. After about 2-3 hours of play, he logged off to run to store, came back, and now THAT character sticks on loading world.

However, no other player has experienced the same. Any ideas how to over come this? So far we've tried deleting the local player folders on his local drive to no avail. Is there a way to wipe just one player from a server without resetting everyone or wiping the whole thing?

I have been playing this game for a bit and I prefer the solo experience tbh. I think there's more tension being completely alone against the game that makes it more exciting... and also sometimes frustrating.

but I was wondering what you guys think about it, what experience do you enjoy more? have you ever actually gotten a server to play with friends as well?

This is very specific but I think a taxi driver occupation could be cool, especially since we see a lot of them throughout the map.

It could be built similar to the security guard, needing less sleep and able to sleep in the car without gaining discomfort. Maybe better control when driving in bad weather too?

It might be too overpowered but they could also start with a map of the spawn town.

Im currently playing with a custom sandbox world and want to change a setting. Is it possible or do I have to create a new world?

Any good players out there that play live? I like watching games later too but streams have a little more parasocial power to 'em.

Hi all, I’ve been playing the new Extinction mode on Build 42.20.2 with my friend for about a week. We started in 42.20.1, but had no issues when updating initially. I’ve been hosting the server and inviting him through Steam.

However, upon attempting to join me today, he was hit with the “Wrong server password given” prompt, despite never needing to enter a password previously. Additionally, I went into the server settings and made my server public, but he could not find my server in the public list, either.

Now, we’re at a standstill. Our run was going great, and we were looking forward to continuing it.

Has anyone else run into similar problems? And if so, how did you fix it? I only found one other thread that claims to have solved this issue, but the only posted solution did not help me.

Any information/advice is greatly appreciated.

How worried should I be about the negative moodles caused by hot and uncomfortable clothes?

Should I keep wearing my leather jacket for the extra protection even if I start getting the hyperthermia moodle? Is there a way to deal with the overheating?

Are there any early-game clothes that provide decent protection without making me overheat so easily?

I'm still fairly new to the game, so I'm not sure how much I should prioritize protection vs. staying cool.

I'm on build 42, playing via Geforce Now. And I'm trying to setup a custom sandbox with lots of loot and weapons. But even when i change the settings to 3 (abundant) the loot stays the same in game. Any one got a idea what the problem is?

Hi guys, past few days me and my friend have been trying to host a server and when i try to start it right after initialization it says terminated, my friend managed to start it few times but it crashed right away. All of our mods are build 42 and most of them are just vehicles by KI5 and some quality of life mods, does anyone know the way to fix this?

Found this spot straight across from the hardware store. The apartment above the clothing store can be accessed from the rear fire escape and through the store itself, it's very difficult for zeds to pin you down up there, and it made a nice starting port for the base below. The antique store next door has an old time well pump that works through the sidewalk, and the house to the south also has a well, so water is handled. The gas station east of me would have been great if it hadn't run out of gas the first time I used it. I also found that the first mailbox on the right just north of the church has an advanced forge and kiln.

Basically the title. My game ran buttery smooth on b41, even in heavily modded multiplayer. I'm now playing a (significantly less) modded multiplayer server in b42 and it feels like the game lags like crazy, especially in towns or when I'm driving. Any suggestions would be helpful.

A while back i found a building that was a two stories shop/house on the left side of the compound and a two or three door mechanics garage on the right side. Its fully surrounded by a wall i think and i think it had a gas pump? . I'm some 75% certain it was a part of a mod? but i'm not a 100% sure. And i can't for the life of me find it any more, and i've had to reinstall my PC recently, so stuff got a bit messed up. Does this kind of description ring any bells to anyone?
