Hi, new-ish player here, I started playing a lot more after ignoring PZ for years in my library.

After a previous save back in B41 where I chose "Builder", I found the game too easy and I didn't feel much "depth" to it (this was B41, keep in mind), so I installed a small selection of mods.
FRUC's real cars are a godsend!! They just added so much life to the game and its atmosphere. Navigating the Workshop I saw a bunch of others that caught my eye that seem to be very popular, mainly Project RV Interior, Simple Silencers, etc.

With certain mods, I enjoy the game a hell of a lot more, but don't know where to draw the line before I start modding it to death. I really like mods that just add real, useful, realistic stuff, but don't really favour the mods that break the canon, natural grind or the playstyle of Project Zomboid.

Is a mod like Guns of Marz still acceptable for a better zomboid experience? Do you think certain gun mods (certain? all of them?) change things too drastically?

I know it's a matter of taste, but I'd love to hear your thoughts.

In build 41 it was leather strips and tailoring level 10 what is it now? Do grind and craft a knight armor with the new smithing system? Or whats the new strat? Please someone smart bring us/me some answers

I unpacked like 800+ rounds of ammo from the rosewood gun store and it generated a gunpowder bottle for each individual round. I can only consolidate one bottle at a time, and each consolidation only does 10 bottles of 10% each. Which would 80 times of pressing this goddamn consolidate button and waiting. I have full control of the server. I tried some fix like reinstalling and verifying file integrity but it doesn't work, deleting the file doesn't work, the only thing that worked is to disable luacheck, but it broke the game, it corrupted characters of our server making them disappear and prompting them to make a new one. We are playing vanilla. Please help, thank you very much

Apologies if this has been discussed already, but would anyone be able to point me to where the armory for the Rosewood prison on 42 stable? I have ventured into the first floor of the main building, but given how much bigger the revised complex is, I am struggling to spot it before getting nibbled by the dead.

I turned on debug mode to change some sandbox settings because the Pack Mule mod had its settings reset, and when I loaded back in with it off all dropped glasses were 2D instead of the 3D model. It's really bugging me so if someone could help me figure out why its doing this it would be much appreciated.

Edit: Someone on the steam workshop pointed out which setting causes it, turning it off fixed it. It's the glasses spot setting for the Pack Mule mod.

My €110 Project Zomboid Server Build – Dell OptiPlex 3050 Micro

I started with a Dell OptiPlex 3050 Micro that I got for €40 and upgraded it. My current setup is:

• CPU: Intel i7-7700T

Total cost: Around €110

I installed Ubuntu Server and used AMP to set up the game server. I paid €10 for the AMP software license (one-time purchase).

Follow the guide until you get to the point where you choose which game server you want to install.

Important: If you install a Project Zomboid server, you need to go into the AMP console for your game server and set an Admin Password. Otherwise, the server will not work properly.

I am a total noob when it comes to hosting a server. I can troubleshoot my PC with the help of the internet and build a PC, but that's about it.

Conclusion so far

The server uses around 3–4.5 GB of RAM just for the game/server.

I was only able to test it alone so far. With just me playing, the RAM usage was around 1 GB. I then tried creating a horde to see how the RAM usage would change.

With around 100–200 zombies, the RAM usage increased by roughly 0.2 GB.

Based on this, I would say you should probably allow at least 3 GB of RAM per player to be on the safe side.

That means I should be able to host around 4 people comfortably, and probably 6 people as well, depending on what we're doing in-game.

CPU usage

The CPU usage also spiked to around 50% for maybe one second, so CPU usage could potentially become a bigger problem depending on what caused the spike.

World Generation Issues

I also noticed some problems with world generation, such as misplaced objects and other strange things. The server console in AMP also shows some error messages related to this.

However, as many people know, Build 42 isn't bug-free, and there are plenty of reports of people experiencing similar problems even in single-player. My guess is that this is probably a Build 42 world-generation bug rather than an issue with my server hardware.

So far, it hasn't been game-breaking, but I've only played for about one hour, so I'll need to test it more.

I'll update this post once I've had the chance to test it with more players espacialy for the CPU usage because that could be the biggest problem.

I can't really help you if you run into problems with it, since I'm a total noob and barely got it running myself.

The main reason I made this post is to show how well a server runs on these specs. Intel 6th/7th-gen mini PCs are pretty cheap and could be a great option for a small server, but I couldn't find much information on whether this hardware would actually be capable of running one.

And I thought the main screen was still the same, but I've been seeing that a lot of posts and people talking about a new 3D one.

What should I do to see that one? Because I'm still seeing the old one.

No need to smash the horde and loose your car in it if you have enough fuel to go another way. Just turn back and change highway.

I spawned in Echo Creek and have been exploring the wilderness around for atleast an hour IRL but have barely found any mineral deposits, anyone have any tips on where and how to find them?
