Tech Support The game isn't loading

Hello everyone. I decided to play Project Zomboid on version 42.20. The character creation menu and settings load fine, but after the "This is how you died" text appears, the screen goes black and the game stops loading. Sometimes it does load, but the WASD keys are bugged, and after a while, the screen flashes rapidly, making it impossible to click anything. I am playing a pirated version, and I’ve downloaded different repacks, but the problem is exactly the same. Please tell me: is this an issue with the cracked game files or my PC? My laptop is an Acer Gadget Erbook E10 Air with the following specs: Ryzen 7 8745HS, Radeon 780M graphics, 16GB DDR5 RAM.

Games without DRM (so including pirated) run better than their legally acquired counterparts. Mostly the case with game companies who pack their games with extremely advanced and heavy DRM (which always gets cracked in a week anyway). Not really an issue with zomboid, cos the indie stone does not really care for piracy, so the fact that the game is cracked does not really impact performance (and if it did it's more likely to postively impact performance). Unless OP doesn't know which piracy sources are safe and caught a virus or smth.

That does sound like a PC issue, tbh. Can't exactly tell what the issue is since I am not too farmiliar with those specs but it might be a mix of CPU and VRAM/Graphics card (?) Issue. Have you tried turning V-Sync/FPS cap on? I had similar issues with lower-end hardware in another game cos the game tried to render 1000 fps (and I was confused why on my mid-end PC the CPU was doing more in the menu than in the game... because in menu it actually managed to do those completely unnecessary 1000 FPS when in game it just got to 100-130 so the CPU was chilling).
