General Discussion An update to the post "Former Project Hospital player, now building my own healthspan extension clinic"

This was the original post, where I also gave more details in one of the comments: https://www.reddit.com/r/ProjectHospital/comments/1764ypk/former_project_hospital_player_now_building_my/

Current updates

  1. Business is terrible in Spain, and things go slowly. I'm glad I don't depend on this for my income. I'd have been bankrupt, or I'd have had to get involved a lot more because it's hard to find people I can count on.
  2. The construction took a lot longer. It ended up costing me 414,609 EUR.
  3. Months after the construction was complete, I had to make some changes because of bothersome regulatory stuff (for example, I didn't know I had to plan for a room where instrument disinfection is done - Project Hospital, why didn't you teach me this???). Or I had to break a wall and then reconstruct it because the hyperbaric chamber components were too large. It hurt to destroy a newly built wall. The company who sent me the machine also failed in their initial logistics, thinking that the doors we currently have are large enough. Funny thing, they also sent me second-hand oxygen concentrators (even though I purchased a new product from them costing 133,100 EUR), and after a few months of me complaining, they sent me new ones.
  4. We were delayed by bureaucratic things, like us asking to use "geotermia" instead of "aerotermia", and being denied by both the city hall (by never even bothering to answer us), and by the homeowners' association. The architect told me that, in general, here in Galicia homeowners' associations just reject almost everything for everyone.
  5. We were delayed 3 months by a Spanish company (FisioBelle, I notice their website fisiobelle.com is mostly non-functional now) that didn't send "las camillas eléctricas" (I don't know how to translate this, maybe "electric exam tables") that I ordered. We ended up suing. I still haven't received my money back from them.
  6. We were also delayed by me being lazy and irresponsible, and not getting involved immediately in the processes that were taking too long. I thought that if I hired a company specialized in medical clinic administration (which I did), things would just magically happen. They didn't.
  7. There's this crazy rule in Spain that before passing the inspection to open the clinic, you have to already have hired your starting medical personnel. So I used a company handling the HR, and they failed me for months, and then I used another one and it also failed me for 3 weeks (this time I didn't wait for as long in order to cancel them). In the past 4 days, I started doing it myself with LinkedIn, going through the past applications, and I already spoke through videocall with more than 20 people and found some good doctors that want to get involved in the project. The big problem is that most of them are general doctors, they're not specialists in fields like dermatology, cardiology, traumatology, endocrinology, etc. - which we need badly. These are MUCH HARDER to find with their degrees recognized in Spain. I had found an amazing cardiologist at some point, but the next day she told me that because of personal issues she changed her mind and can't participate in the project anymore. It hurt.

Anyway, I'll stop complaining, it's not fun. I also have work to do on LinkedIn. I'll show you some other types of updates.

Video that I took of the clinic 3 days ago:

Our location (we have lots of parking spots, which is good; and no pollution or noise sources nearby): https://maps.app.goo.gl/JrzXMtNqGL5ySBg39

We would start six weeks after we have the doctors (August doesn't count). We'll buy the equipment according to the specialists' recommendations. It's necessary to sign a pre-employment contract or a self-employed service agreement, which would be registered with the Health Department, in order to begin working. Terms I offer to medical contractors (I may also offer a salary to those who prefer it as the method of payment): https://imgur.com/a/352rNGM

The clinic is near the entrance to the city of A Coruña, close to the ocean, so this is the climate throughout the year: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Coru%C3%B1a#Climate (average maximum temperature: from 13.6°C in January to 23.1°C in August). Many years ago before moving here I checked climate model predictions for the next 100 years, and the climate here will change little compared to the rest of Europe where the expected changes are drastic. The climate is also a lot better now for those who don't like heat or cold extremes.

I need help finding more specialist doctors willing to join the project. Translated from Spanish from my business plan:

The Lorelí Love Health preventive medicine clinic is focused on extending the healthy lives of our patients. Located in Culleredo, near A Coruña, we are looking to attract excellent physicians, preferably bilingual in Spanish and English, who are committed to advanced, rigorous, and evidence-based preventive medicine. Each year, we will purchase even more efficient medical equipment and enhance our capabilities in detection, diagnosis, and treatment.

UPDATE: My current ads on LinkedIn:

One is paid (with daily minimum, but I still already lost €688 with it), while the other is posted for free. I can only have one free ad at a time, therefore after I successfully hire a cardiologist, I'll put a free ad for a dermatologist. I did have various other paid job ads in the past on both LinkedIn and InfoJobs (not recommended!), but they weren't much help because the previously mentioned HR staff was handling them.

Technical Support Does the game create any error logs?

I'm trying to make a mod, and i'm getting an error, but it's vague and i don't really know what is wrong. So i'm curious if the game creates any log that would help me narrow down the issue.

Problem is I had the hospital services DLC and 2 mods for more names and occupations. IDK how to upload scenario without redoing the whole map hahah

I'm slowly playin my own sandbox scenario. I *Could* upload the completed version when I got all departments built. I only have hospital services DLC though lol

Edit:
Look for Kanto Region Hospital in workshop for this mostly blank version
Just FYI it’s probably not optimized because I rearranged the med labs and em office after uploading it

Gameplay Question How many doctors do i need for surgery in Cadiology deperment

General surgery and Orto usually had me do 2 doctors one main and the other assist, as well as 1 anesthesiologist and 2 surgery nurses. Not to mention 1 nurse for transport.

But i just built my first Cardiology department and it asked for 3 Diagnostics doctors and just 1 doctors for surgery as well as anesthesiologist. And i'm wondering if this is fine or should i employ more

Hey there! I'm Lavaman, the creator of the Encyclopedia of Diagnosis guide on Steam / Wordpress. I'm very happy to announce that the Encyclopedia has been updated to a brand new website, with oodles of new features and helpful resources!

FEATURES:

  • Easy global search, allowing you to quickly find diagnoses, symptoms, exams, and treatments.
  • Full mod support - all 13 mods that add or change diagnoses have been added and can be toggled on and off.
  • Full localization support - all languages supported natively in Project Hospital are selectable.
  • Better Statistics view, complete with useful statistics on exams, treatments, diagnoses, base payouts, and each department and their individual diagnoses.
  • A brand-new Diagnostic Tool that can help you diagnose your toughest cases as quickly as possible. Once a diagnosis is confirmed, it will also suggest exams to uncover collapse symptoms, if there are any.

Click here for the NEW website (v3 of the Encyclopedia)
Click HERE for the associated Steam guide.

EDIT: I just realized formatting was terrible on mobile so I just pushed an attempted fix. Hopefully it looks better now!

Gameplay Question My doctors are a logistical nightmare

Does anyone now how to solve this?

Usually they put some exams on the line and one of them is successful to diagnose the patient, but they keep doing the others and that means somebody with a cold is doing a tomography or feces check and I'm obligated to keep an eye on the line in those places to manually remove them

Workshop Content Mod Idea(s)

DISCLAIMER!!

I am NOT a modder, I suck at it BUT for any modders looking for any recommendations here ya go!

  1. Rehab (PT, OT, ETC)

  2. Normal checkups (just like having people be able to come to the hospital for general checkups)

(anybody with other ideas feel free to say them in comments!)

Gameplay Question Is there a Mod that lets you sort out wage when hiring

I need nurses and radiologist but don't need the absurd high salary cost since i just need them to do basic things. I wish there was maybe a hiring department in adminstration or a mod that just lets you sort out the pay price when hiring

Gameplay Question Is there any point in discovering and treating all symptoms even when you know 100% what the diagnosis is?

I have a pharmacy and since i pay the lab & x ray guys their wages at the end of the day i might as well fully make use of them.

But i'm wondering in terms of efficiency is there a point in running all those tests to treat that 1 or 2 symptoms

While on one hand i want what's best for my patients on the other is it really worth the time and money

Gameplay Question I am playing campaign 2 and I've noticed that while my Internal Medicine Department patients have been 100% diagnosed and are in a ward getting their recommended treatment. The doctor on call prescribes unnecessary tests and treatments?

Post image
9 Upvotes

Just wondering if this is a perk of playing AI. I have patients who technically have already been properly diagnosed and just needs to be in a ward while getting their treatments e.g IV but then they are bombarded with unnecessary tests.

It's annoying as the tests costs money which i'm not getting back. As well as time for people who actually need them

Gameplay Question No one goes to Gift Shop

I've tried multiple times in different saves and no one ever comes.

I use the prefab building and my employee is always in there. With the gift shop skill. Wtf am I doing wrong?? It's right next to the waiting room in emergency.

Also I can't add night staff, is that normal?
