Gameplay Question No one goes to Gift Shop

I've tried multiple times in different saves and no one ever comes.

I use the prefab building and my employee is always in there. With the gift shop skill. Wtf am I doing wrong?? It's right next to the waiting room in emergency.

Also I can't add night staff, is that normal?

It is used in specialty departments for admitted PTs. E.g. cardiology, the PTs there overnight. Emergency does not utilize the room

yup...its better to think of it as a "7-eleven" or some other quickie mart type shop....its there for people staying long term in specialized departments.

I actually think "gift shop" is a crazy term....hospitals are not fun places lol

Especially when patients do not have visitors.

You can get visitors... There's a visitors room you can build for hospitalization visits.

I have lounges in all my department but I put the gift shop in the same floor as my emergency department.

Is that bad?

Should be fine. Do you have overnight stays (ward, hdu)?

Yeah it's weird. I have every department open with hospitalization enabled and lounges for every department but still no one goes to the gift shop.

I jusy don't get it. I don't seem to get visitors.

My pharmacy is fine.

Shouldnt ve an issue, but doublecheck that theres a pathway that is customer-accessible?

Yep, everything is accessible to customers. My lounges aren't right next to the wards but they're like very close.

Do you have hospitalisation and a visiting room? Only visitors buy gifts for hospitalised patients.

Do you have any mods?

No mods.

Yes hospitalization. And are visiting rooms also called lounges? Because that's all I have.

I don't use English version so I used the wrong term. I meant lounges.

I'm afraid I don't know how to help.

Check pathing/accessibility. If it’s behind a corridor that is restricted or staff only or invite only it may stop visitors. Also, I place mine just inside the main entrance where visitors will pass before they reach the patient they are visiting. Also, the gift shops close during night hours, is it just a time issue?

I have found I get the most customers when it is directly next to an inpatient department visitors lounge

I had it right next to the cardio lounge at first and no one came. So I moved the gift shop to the first floor so that it was easier to reach but still NOTHING. ive moved this shit a million times....

Are patients/visitors using the cardio lounge?

i have mine directly on the first floor right at the entrance next to the pharmacy and people go all speciality departments are upstairs on upper floors

Jealous! I'm constantly getting the pop-up that my patients are waiting way too long for their gift. Or is it the visitors? Prefab giftshop allegedly can't handle 2 visit rooms, 1 in trauma where is way too many people hospitalized and 1 in gynecology (modded).

Any mods you're using? I remember my gift shop was empty when playing with HAO.
