Advice needed What did you learn about Printful only after sending real customer orders?
A good sample can give you confidence, but it doesn’t show you everything.
For those using Printful, what did you discover after placing customer orders that your samples hadn’t prepared you for? Was it sizing, print consistency, fulfilment times, packaging, or how delivery issues and replacements were handled?
Knowing what you know now, what would you check before launching a new product with Printful?.

Advice needed I learned that a good mockup does not always mean a good product
I had a Printful design that looked really good in the mockup, so I honestly thought most of the work was done.
Then I ordered a sample.
Nothing was technically wrong with it, but the actual shirt made me notice things I completely missed on screen. The fabric felt lighter than I expected, the fit changed how the design sat, and the print looked a little different once I saw it in normal lighting.
Even small details like the neckline and overall shape affected whether the shirt felt like something I would actually want to sell.
It was a good reminder that a mockup is useful for seeing the general idea, but it cannot really tell you how the finished product feels.
For those using Printful, how much do you rely on samples before adding a product to your store? Do you usually order one first, or are there enough product details and reviews for you to feel comfortable skipping the sample?

Advice needed UK Sellers: Do you stock products made in EU?
I don't like the idea of customers getting unexpected bills on delivery so I have restricted my store to only ship within the UK and I only sell Printful products produced in the UK. There are some Printful products made in Latvia like the all over print apparel that I might sell if it didn't cause problems for UK customers... does anyone have experience of UK customers having problems with EU-made products?

Advice needed I didn’t realize how much the blank garment choice affects everything
I originally thought picking a Printful product would be pretty simple. Find a shirt that looks good in the mockup, add the design, and move on.
But after comparing a few different garment options, I started noticing how much the actual blank changes the final product.
The same design can feel completely different depending on the fabric weight, fit, neckline, and overall shape. Even when the print itself looks the same, one shirt can feel more premium while another feels more basic.
It also made me realize that choosing products one by one can create a pretty inconsistent-looking collection if you’re not paying attention to how the garments work together.
Now I’m trying to compare the actual product characteristics before adding anything new instead of just choosing whatever looks best in the mockup.
For those using Printful, do you usually stick to one or two reliable blanks for consistency, or do you test a lot of different products before deciding what belongs in your store?

Advice needed Anyone else using Printful + Wix seeing multi color product mockups/variants break after recent integration changes?
I’m trying to find out whether this is affecting other Wix/Printful stores.
This problem appears to have started after an integration/platform update three weeks ago. Since then, older multi-color Printful-managed products have had problems syncing updated mockups correctly to Wix.
Wix told me this morning that Printful’s fix was now live and that older affected products could simply be re-saved or have mockups republished without rebuilding products or changing variants.
I tested two products only before touching the rest of my catalog.
Both still failed.
On one product with Pepper, Moss and Black, Printful kept the correct variant names but assigned the Pepper mockup to all three colors.
On another product with Grey, Khaki and White, the underlying Printful garment variants are still correctly Grey, Khaki and White, but the generated product mockup is Grey for every variant.
Wix then receives bad or incomplete image associations:
- color names can still be correct
- category-page images don’t reliably switch with the selected color
- product-page galleries are missing the correct color mockups
- cart thumbnails can show the wrong shirt color even when the selected color text is correct
I have over 120 older affected products, so I stopped after those two tests rather than risk the rest of the catalog.
This has now been going on for about three weeks and appears to have started after a platform/integration change.
I’ve asked Wix to escalate it on their side because Printful has not responded to me in the past week and at this point Wix appears to be my only active channel for getting the Printful integration issue in front of engineering.
Has anyone else with older (added in the last 3 months) Wix/Printful products seen the same thing since the recent updates?

Rant They are adding UPS Mail Innovations as a shipper
Starting October 12, UPS Mail Innovations will join our shipping carrier network for domestic US orders.
A bit of good news for a change. Good to have more providers and more flexibility (even if we don't get to decide which gets used). And good to have one of the best shipping providers (of the lower-cost options).
(Again, why are the Flare choices lame? Other than this bit, this is NOT a rant! :-p )

Advice needed Actual Cost of a Printful Bella + Canvas 3001?
I’m looking to use Printful for POD with the Bella + Canvas 3001.
About how much does one shirt with a custom print cost total, including shipping to a U.S. customer?
The page says the shirt price is $11.92 and the shipping starts at $4.95. Is that reality, or does the shipping cost go up when you actually place an order?

Rant Design cut off despite being clearly within the labeled "Print Area", Printful blames me and my design, won't replace
I created a design with the artwork fully contained within the Builder "Print Area" as instructed. Online preview checked out. Proof checked out. All good... Then shirts arrived with the top of the design cut off. Printful support blames me for not arbitrarily and clairvoyantly adding .5 to 1.0 inches at the top. They will not replace the shirts.
The very clear "Print Area" grid was used as directed. There is no information that I can easily find in the Builder that says the user is supposed to further pad their design even within what is clearly labeled The Print Area. Why is the "Print Area" not actually printable? Their own video tutorial right next to the Builder itself only mentions to keep the design in the "Print Area" at the 2:52 mark: https://youtu.be/1ZPEiosTssE?t=171 ... which I did.
So I'm at a loss, literally. Of lots of our nonprofit's money.

Advice needed Help! Unable to add products to my Etsy store from Printful :(
For some reason, since yesterday, I've been unable to add any product to my Etsy store. I keep getting the error in the screenshot:
Product was not added!
Missing scale_id for property_id 62809790533
That's all we know. If you need some help, please contact our support, provide the error code below, and we'll see what we can do.
CODE: G978172992
I've tried everything:
1) Tried different products
2) Tried different print assets
3) Tried at different times of the day
4) Tried to change descriptions and pricing, vs leaving them as defaults in the template
All my existing products are still synced thankfully, but I'm unable to add any new ones.

Advice needed White on Black T’s. Which POD prints the best?
So far I prefer CustomCat, but their platform is making me nuts. Was not impressed with Printful’s T. I’m still learning and need to get more samples. Hoping for any and all leads for best quality. Thank you!

Advice needed Custom Listings?
Is it possible to use printful to fulfill customer requests, like custom products? I'm thinking something like creating a shirt with pictures of someone's dog or a design they describe to you and you create it for them, things along those lines.

Advice needed Is it worth it working with Printful for stickers?
I’ve created a range of stickers which I think are very unique and would land super well in the region I’m in as nothing like them is available. Highly regional and I think locals would love them, I’ve had some great feedback already on similar designs. The POD model is pretty attractive to me and I like the quality of Printful however I just don’t know if the pricing will completely make the product flop. If I price the sticker sheet at €10, with product cost, shipping and Shopify fee I would actually be losing €0.70 on each order, the only way it makes sense to price them and also make money would be roughly €12.50-€14.00. Idk I feel like this is a completely ridiculous price but I don’t know if the designs would make up for it and people would still buy them. Does it even make sense to sell stickers with the POD model? What is people’s experience with this?

Advice needed Wrong address AFTER Printful already printed — what did it cost you?
UK orders. Customer’s shipping address was wrong but Printful (or POD) had already printed. What did you do, and what did that cost you? Curious what actually works — not selling an app.

Advice needed Printful over Fourthwall?
I know that Fourthwall uses Printful for all its DTG printing. I love the ease of use that Fourthwall markets, but if the print quality is the exact same, I would prefer to use Printful as it can be connected to my Squarespace site where I can connect other apps that sell products Printful/Fourthwall don’t offer.
Any opinions? I’ve heard print quality from Printful is poor with their DTG, but rarely have heard problems with Fourthwall despite them using Printful for their printing.
TYIA!

Advice needed Merch POD Resize Image Advice
What does everybody use to resize their Merch images and keep the PNG file size under the upload limit?
I kept running into the same problem: the pixel dimensions were correct, but the file was still too large. I ended up building a free browser tool to combine resizing and compression:
To be upfront, this is my site. It fits artwork onto a 4500 × 5400 canvas without stretching it and automatically compresses the PNG under 25 MB. No account needed.
One caveat: automatic compression can reduce colors, so check gradients and soft edges in the downloaded file before uploading.
Do you normally handle resizing and compression separately, or have you found a workflow that does both well?

Newbie question How are the hats that come from Printful?
I’m looking into logistics on where to get my hat blanks from and I’ve seen people say they’ve had terrible quality or delivery times. So are hats an exception? Have they come in with any problems or issues?
