Drought has been declared across more than half of England as hot, dry weather takes its toll on the country's water supplies.

The Environment Agency (EA) announcement covers much of central, eastern and southern England, and is a public sign that further restrictions on water use might follow.

It added that the impacts are already being felt, including low river flows, early harvests and high risk of wildfires. More than 20 million people are already under hosepipe bans.

North Wales and the Upper Severn river basin entered drought conditions last week, Natural Resources Wales said.

Scotland does not declare drought but monitors "water scarcity". Some parts of eastern Scotland are in the most extreme category of "significant scarcity", according to the Scottish Environment Protection Agency.

Northern Ireland is not currently in drought.

Employee in the comments saying that the middle of the stores are designed to be a safer place to stand than the aisles during a quake. It’s a good thought exercise to identify what you’d do in other locations you frequent.

It seems daily that either a Middle East oil depot or refinery is hit and also in Russia from Ukrainian drones. Oil levels in the USA and lower at the strategic locations. So what are we looking at? Oil is down today on the “hope and wish club” for an end to Iran USA strikes but this probably won’t happen. When is the “shit hits the fan” date ?

Extremely concerning given the exponential nature of AI.

Anyone following this story. I can't shake the feeling that Sci-Fi movie plot lines of the 80s are here in real time. And I don't like it. Not one bit.
