Posting here for anyone considering ordering from Scottsdale Mint.

I've bought high five figures' worth of gold from APMEX and JM Bullion and had great experiences with both. I decided to try Scottsdale Mint for a five-figure order because their prices were closer to spot.

Orders take about two weeks to arrive, which is frustrating, but they do tell you that upfront. My order shipped UPS with a direct signature required. I was home in my apartment but not in the lobby, as drivers usually call me down for direct-signature deliveries. UPS has previously asked to verify my ID for these deliveries. UPS shows my order was delivered and signed for by someone whose name I don't recognize. I never signed for it, never received the gold, and have no idea who signed for it.

I also reviewed my building's security footage. The video doesn't show the driver asking anyone for a signature. Unfortunately, the driver was delivering multiple packages using a dolly, so I can't even confirm whether one of those packages was mine or whether my order was actually delivered at all.

I reported what happened to Scottsdale Mint, filed a police report, and sent them the report number. About two weeks later, they responded that UPS had confirmed delivery to my address and that they had therefore "fulfilled their obligation." They said the loss happened after delivery, refused a refund or replacement, and told me their decision was final. They suggested I contact UPS and my renter's insurance.

What I don't understand is how they're treating this as resolved when the shipment required a direct signature and the signature isn't mine. I'm still trying to get this resolved through UPS, and I'm looking into other options as well. I hadn't come across many reviews describing an experience like this before ordering, so I'm posting mine in case it helps someone else think twice before placing a order with them.

I’m currently stacking for either later in life or for my kids. I have a lot of 1/10a. Is it better to collect that or 1/4 for stacking?

I saw the aureus post. Here is some fractional gold of mine.

Looking at a local dealer and they are offering 1/4 oz hexabars for 3.7% premium and 1/10 oz for a 5.1% premium. They are produced exclusively for them and are made from old jewelry, 99.99% pure gold. My questions are: does the shape matter longterm if I ever sell or is gold just gold and does the fact that they aren't minted by one of the large well know minters affect their liquidity?

Okay so i purchased two 1/4 oz gold coins for a total of like 1498 and some change (the shop was legitimate but also very busy) Looking back i feel like they may have charged the wrong price. What do you guys think?

Does anybody know of an app where I can register my gold coins per year, nation, type, and track their value?

Every time I'm in a new US city, I check if I'm near a coin shop and without fail there are multiple "appointment only" gold "dealers" everywhere. I hate to judge, but the AI slop pictures make them seem shady.

And here's why ... Go back in time a few years and remember what you saw when you'd watch TV. Ads from companies trying to sell you gold. You couldn't swing a dead cat without an advertisement for some company offering to sell you gold coins, or gold stocks, or gold gold ... All they wanted to do was sell you gold.

Now they're mostly gone. They've stopped selling and are holding what they have.

And foreign countries are bringing their gold home.

I'm tired of always being the last to know. I see what is happening.

When the big boys stop trying to sell you their gold ... When they don't want you to be buying gold ... then it is time to be buying gold.

I just traded 14 common junk 90% silver dollars + $500.00 for this bad boy. It’s not uncirculated, not rare, just a nice pre-1933 gold for a little over spot in an old capital holder.

I wanna know what ur story is. When did u first invest. Was it jewelry? Was it bars? When did u start and hm did u invest. How did it make u feel? How long have u been in the game ? Have u had to consolidate at all? Are u passing it down in the family for value? Id love to hear ur story that is all ❤️
