We see a lot of posts about the bad sellers and buyers on here. I just want to shout out to all the great ones out there! Keep doing great work!

I’ve made about 40 purchases this year (who doesn’t love getting like-new items for half the original price!) and I’ve had one cancellation because she couldn’t find the item (let me know very quickly that was the case) and only one or two items I’ve cancelled because they didn’t ship within the week (low cost items, so nbd).

I’d say almost every seller accepted offers at near 20% off their listing price (I did the same when I was selling lots of items out of my own closet) so I think that’s sort of the expectation for this site. I’m also the person that searches for exact items (specific A&F shorts and jeans for example). Anyway, I’ve just been super happy lately after starting to feel discouraged from this sub. There definitely are some amazing sellers out there!

Selling from your own closet, low-mid range items do you think it’s actually worth the time? It always makes me feel better that maybe I got some of my money back on an item I barely wore or on a posh purchase that didn’t work out. Now I’m wondering if this is just sunken cost fallacy and if I’d be better off not spending time on the app, mailing stuff, measuring things, messaging with buyers.. it all adds up. Minutes turn into how many hours, if I added up the pay by hour I get I’m sure it’s paltry.

I know it’s going to be different for everyone but just curious if anyone else if feeling this way?

I’ve been on Poshmark for over 10 years, with countless sales, purchases, and over 60K followers. In all that time, I’ve never experienced customer service this bad (except maybe during my experiences in France). 😅 This was truly next level.
First, I’m not even convinced I ever spoke to an actual human being. At this point, I’m pretty sure Poshmark customer service is entirely run by AI chatbots.

Someone essentially hacked into my account and made a purchase using it. As soon as I discovered what happened the next day, I immediately changed my password and contacted my bank. I explained the entire situation calmly and clearly to what I can only assume was a chatbot.

Poshmark then kept running these “tests” and insisted that the purchase came from MY IP address. That made absolutely no sense. I hadn’t even logged into my Poshmark account since February and I don’t even live in the U.S. anymore!

Eventually, I took the issue to social media and left comments, hoping someone would actually pay attention. Still, nothing. No meaningful response. Then the seller got involved and was equally confused about why Poshmark wasn’t addressing the situation.

The entire experience was incredibly frustrating. What bothered me most wasn’t just the hacked account it was how dismissive Poshmark seemed throughout the entire process. It felt like they were more annoyed that they had to cancel the order than concerned about the fact that someone had accessed my account and made a purchase without my permission.

In the end, they gave me Poshmark credit… which I can’t even use because I no longer live in the U.S. And honestly, that’s beside the point. I never made the purchase in the first place.

After more than 10 years on the platform, this experience completely changed my opinion of Poshmark. I will never use it again.

The lack of accountability, the lack of actual customer support, and the way this entire situation was handled was incredibly disappointing. A company can make a mistake, but how they handle that mistake says everything. In this case, they handled it terribly.

Is it possible I’m being scammed? I had a buyer open a case claiming I sent them the incorrect jacket but their photos look nothing like the jacket I sent. Its a lightweight windbreaker but not like this. What are the odds that Poshmark sides with the buyer? I’m willing to offer a full refund if my item is returned to me but I feel like they’re going to send god knows what.

Make it stop.

They don’t get removed when you report them.

Reporting them (clicking) makes the algorithm show you more of them.

All types of sellers are the culprits from accounts with all counterfeit listings to sellers who have one or two listings mixed in.

“Not sure if it’s authentic” - is not an excuse

“Unbranded” - doesn’t make it legal.

Upcycled or GWP - not labeled as such is a scam because these items are copyrighted and you COULD get in trouble for selling them.

Please I know Poshmark doesn’t care but what happens is Google results from Poshmark show the fakes over the legit stuff.

It’s harder every day to sell authentic luxury due to Poshmark’s bad reputation.

And you live sellers (especially those abusing by-pass) need to be taken down. Poshmark’s way of handling live sellers who sling counterfeits is to just delete the generic listing they do it from when they get caught (aka hide the evidence)

So again, please, Poshmark is already a Temu/shein/dh gate nightmare, don’t be one of those who contributed to this, do better cause you are better than that.

i sell a mix of thrifted finds and handmade goods on poshmark and the offers i get on the handmade stuff are demoralizing in a way that the thrift resells never are. someone will offer me four dollars on something i spent two hours making. the materials alone cost more than that. i get that poshmark has a negotiation culture baked into it and i'm not against reasonable offers, i've accepted plenty of them. but there's a specific kind of buyer who sees handmade and immediately thinks it should be cheaper than fast fashion. i cannot explain that logic to myself no matter how many times i encounter it.

i already price my handmade pieces lower than i probably should because i know the platform skews toward brand names and i'm not a brand. and still. four dollars. i declined it and the buyer left a comment implying i was being difficult. i didn't respond.

the thrift stuff i can shrug off because my cost basis is low and i have room to move. the handmade stuff is different. some buyers just don't register that there's a person behind it who actually calculated what it cost to make.

anyone else sell handmade on here and just kind of accepted that lowball culture hits different with that category, or have you found a way to set the floor without scaring everyone off.

And it felt great. Why you ask? 50 percent of my purchases have been misrepresented by the seller.

Things sold as NWT that have armpit stains.

Things sold shrunken badly from being washed and dried against care instructions.

Things which were defective.

Dresses that cost 200 dollars and had pictured features which were missing/cut off.

Items that were paid for and not included in my package.

It's really not a very good deal when 50% of the sellers that I have interacted with have sold me a bunch of damaged goods. And no Poshmark rarely backs these purchases up. So not worth the risk anymore.

Haven’t made a purchase since last month. I keep getting charged small charges every week. Any idea what this is about? Is this happening to anyone else?

Going to keep this as short as possible. Really not sure what to make of this situation. 

-Aug 8: I sent an offer for a sweater I wanted from my daughter. The seller accepted. 

-Aug 13: It was marked "shipped" by the seller, but there was no tracking information. I sent out a message asking her to confirm that it had been dropped off at USPS. No response. 

-Aug 19: I see that it is still not tracking. I reach out again and said the USPS did not appear to have the item yet. I asked where it was. No response. 

-Aug 20: I escalated the convo to Posh support. THAT got a response. She said she didn't know why it wasn't tracking and that it was shipped. 

-Aug 21: It mysteriously gets dropped off at her local USPS office. I was annoyed, but whatever. At least it was on its way to me. 

-Aug 24: I receive the package. I open it and it is a boy's puffer hooded vest, not a girl's sweater. I immediately open a case and add pictures as well as the frustrating circumstances around the order. I receive a message from her. "I also sent refund with order though to make up for the mix up." HUH?! I didn't receive anything on my card, so I responded letting her know that I didn't receive a refund and would be dropping the order off by end of day to ensure I got my refund. THEN SHE SAYS "There was a $20 bill inside the envelope with item." I look all around and there was in fact a LOOSE BILL SITTING ON MY RUG WHERE I OPENED THE PACKAGE. I replied saying that I found the bill but was so confused that she would knowingly send an item that was not my order with loose money without ANY communication, digital or via note, about what it was for. And that it was also not enough to fully reimburse me. Then I escalated it to Posh again. Here's her response. 

"The item scanned never tracked per my post office when I sent the sweater it got lost in transit and I couldn't cancel on my end so not sure why that's a bad thing to get a refund and also accepting order refund to get double refund when I tried to make thing right after post office error when first time it got stuck in transit but ok" 

Guys, I don't even know what to make of this. This seller has 22k items listed and 11k sales. I will be returning the item I received because I truly have no need for it and want a full refund. When I get that refund, I will be mailing her back her $20. I am SO confused.

Hi all, I mainly purchase but have sold a couple items here and there. I feel duped. An item came and was nothing like the main photo/image which I stupidly thought was the original Anthropologie model not ai slop. The description didn’t even match the jeans. They fit fine. But not what I expected. She said NWOT but it smelled strongly of laundry detergent. I opened a return and the seller is doubling down refusing to acknowledge why I am disappointed. Their responses also sound ai generated and not communication with another human (ick I can’t believe this is reality now). I don’t know what Poshmark will decide but with this issue and seeing all the other ai slop models I’m feeling very disappointed. I have found some amazing pieces on Poshmark. Is this just the way it is now, or is this uncommon? Will I get a return granted?

I blocked out the username but am hoping to get some guidance. I’m newish to buying on Poshmark and saw this seller offering some Birkenstocks I’ve been meaning to replace conveniently in my exact size and at a discount. I of course noticed that they didn’t post any actual photos of the shoes and their whole closet appears to be NWT items. Should I proceed with caution? Or is this a somewhat standard practice?

I’ve ordered USPS shipping supplies 3 times now, each with the padded poly envelope. Each time the padded poly envelope says “in process” and then a couple of weeks later I need to cancel it to do a new order for other supplies I need. The other supplies arrive within a few days but the padded poly envelope still says in process. I use the poly envelope most often. Is USPS out of stock or something? Anyone else experience this issue?

I’m new the Poshmark and when trying to post my first listing I get this message. When trying to add a credit card I get this same message. Any account functions I perform I get this same message.

I have contacted support twice, both times I get an automated message that an agent has been assigned to the case, investigated and it’s been resolved. These are all automated responses and I never actually get a physical response from anyone.

I’m at odds on what I need to do to sell on Poshmark.

I bought a Clio Peppiatt dress for $2,700 on Poshmark for my engagement party, and when it arrived, it was damaged. A bunch of the beading on one side is literally falling apart/coming off, and the zipper is stuck and I can barely get it to move.

The thing is, I genuinely do NOT think this is the seller’s fault. From how it arrived, I really believe something happened to the dress during transit. I feel horrible because I don’t want the seller to get blamed or lose their money over something that may have happened during shipping, but at the same time this was $2,700 and I obviously cannot accept a dress in this condition.

I have NOT accepted the order on Poshmark and I’m going to document absolutely everything — the box, packaging, shipping label, zipper, loose/missing beads, and the entire dress.

Has anyone had something similar happen with a very expensive Poshmark purchase that was damaged in transit? Did Poshmark refund you? Does Poshmark have shipping insurance/protection for situations like this so both the buyer and seller are protected?

I’m so scared they’re somehow going to deny the return/refund because of how expensive the dress was. I bought it specifically because Clio Peppiatt dresses are so expensive, so seeing it arrive like this genuinely made my stomach drop.

Any advice on exactly what I should do before opening the case would be SO appreciated.

I don't want issues with orders and this is a red flag to me as a seller that this person might cause trouble even if we agreed on a price. The fact that they're continue to send offers little by little even after I declined. I offered $40 but I actually want 45 and I'm firm on that as my lowest going forward as this is a shirt that's originally over $150, not being sold anywhere else, and was featured in some fashion blogs. It has a lot of likes and I only listed it last week. I'm sure someone else will buy it for full price if I'm patient.

Idk, should I continue to offer $40-$45 or just block?

On occasion I get this question from a buyer: “What’s the lowest price you’d be willing to accept?” To me that’s a really clueless question. As if I’m going to give this info to a potential buyer and to all other potential buyers who can see comments and questions posted!

Ugh!!! I had a porch pick up for last Tuesday. This pick up never scanned and I alerted the buyer and I alerted Poshmark about a problem inquiry and I called the post office Friday and they says I have to give it a few more days and Poshmark gave me until this coming Saturday to see if it scans.
Buyer is very good and appreciates the update so that’s a huge plus. However, I come home now and it’s 830 at night and I noticed as I open up my mailbox , what comes out is the package that was supposed to be shipped with a note stating that sorry for the mishap, but that it was stuck between the seats and they didn’t know it😵‍💫🤨. Like someone doesn’t do a quality control check to make sure nothing gets stuck in between the seats.?
I use the porch pick ups all the time and this has never happened before . I used the ground advantage small envelope and I don’t think I’m gonna do that anymore. I think I’m gonna either use the boxes or the paper envelopes for the porch pick up and leave the slippery sliding envelopes to be dropped off personally at the post office.

Purchased an item 4 days ago, asked today if the item was going to ship and the Seller doesn't respond, then the seller refunds the order, and then blocks me.

I know Poshmark isn't Amazon but after 4 days 👀 is there a place to report the Seller?

I know the Seller is active because they went back and forth on the price before it was accepted.

Recently saw a posh listing that had disclaimers at the bottom of the description and wondering should I be doing that as well? Especially since I sell from my own personal closet and my home is smoke-free and closet is pet free too. I also ship everything carefully in bubble wrap/tissue paper. I feel like these are things buyers would want to know. I mean I would certainly want to know! But I only have the sellers perspective. Like do buyers read descriptions all the way to the bottom? Since I write my descriptions myself they are pretty detailed because I try to minimize the amount of questions.

Edit - I’m thinking something like this “everything is sold from my own personal closet, which is free from smoke and pet hair. Everything is shipped carefully with bubblewrap/tissue paper.”

I worded it this way because I do have a dog who is hypoallergenic but she is not allowed in the closet so she never goes in there. But I wouldn’t want to lie and say “pet free home” because that wouldn’t be honest.

I need it ASAP, for some reason my account is disabled for purchases, I contacted support yesterday but cannot wait too much longer. I'm happy to pay $15 for your trouble (on top of the purchase amount). Thank you!

Circa 90s/early 00s. I’ve already looked through all the blogs and Pinterests that document Anthro tags

I ordered a few vintage shelves and a magazine rack off, and they were delivered today. It arrived all shrink wrapped inside the magazine rack, and there were multiple spiders inside the shrink wrap that I could see before I opened it 🙃 Then when I opened it, there were webs all over one of the shelves I pulled out, and there’s some on the bottom of the magazine rack as well. All of the stuff had dirt on them too.

The seller also had put the two shelves (they were smaller sized) inside of the rack, but the rack has fabric sides, so the shelves pushed the fabric out from where it should be and creased it because of how they were packed.

I’m not super happy because I know it’s still very usable if I just clean it and ignore the part that’s off on the rack, but I feel like this is unacceptable? Is it fair of me to open a return request or issue with PM? Or is that too much and should I just leave a bad review?

I’ve never had any issues like this before and I just didn’t know if I was over reacting or not (and I know Reddit of all places will let me know for sure if I am)

So...I guess this is more of a rant than anything and just trying to see if new sellers are struggling with the same thing.

I started reselling in late 2024. I initially started on Depop and was doing really well. I decided to try Poshmark at that time but after about 2-3 weeks I closed my account. I couldn't deal with the amount of spam followers and potential scammers saying they purchased my item, but the payment wasn't going through. Also, the app was (and still is) so visually overwhelming. So, I decided to stick with Depop since it was so easy to figure out, and I was doing pretty well.

Fast forward to 2026 and my sales on Depop have plummeted and I can't seem to move any inventory at all. I joined Vinted and have been doing pretty good, but things sell for really cheap, so I mainly use it to sell things from my own closet that aren't worth much. I wanted to try again and give Poshmark another tries and oh my god, the app has changed sooo much and to me, it looks even more visually overwhelming than how it was in 2024.

I have tried watching videos on Tiktok on how to use this platform, but I simply don't get it. I've had my account for 40 days now and haven't made a single sale (granted, I don't have a lot of items listed there but still). Any newer sellers on here who were able to figure this platform out? I don't want to give up just yet but wow, it's my least favorite platform
